Wooo boy. Am I glad I chose the Vita over the switch. Not to start anything but aside from Zelda I've seen nothing I've really been interested in. I agree and basically did the same. Pretty sure I mentioned that in the survey, at least. They even offered it as an example response, lol. I did think they got off to a good start by including different identification crystals (like the eel and the rocket, haha).

They had pretty good marketing in Chinese places and it was same day release so that played a big part for initial release. The art is also generally very well regarded I think.

So... yeah, Secret of Mana was full of awesome until I checked the pre-order page. The PS4 version is being sold for 40€. I imagine the Vita version might be a bit less than that, but still, that's waaay too steep.

One thing I would improve to the next OL if it ever happens is that there should be an option to skip enemy attack animations. Some of them take too long, like the confusion spell from the mage or that floating masks attacks. Not a huge problem really, but in post game you notice these things.

Well, there are incentives for allowing them to shrink down at times, such as when you're running low on skill charges and need a quick bust up to recharge. Going down to a lower bust size also isn't much of a problem in later dungeons because enemies give so much Omega Power that you can get right back up.

There are probably two reasons why you'd probably want to keep a bra with that effect handy:

1. Flat chest status prevents bust down on your current size. This is helpful when you don't have access to a bra that protects against bust down for dungeon requirements that require you to hit a certain size like K or Z cup. So ideally, you'd be switching to that bra temporarily when in the presence of those enemies that steal bust size.

2. If you want to make dungeons more challenging, the flat chest effect basically makes it a no-skill use, no-appraisal, and no-bust up run. I guess it helps make those dungeon requirements where you aren't allowed to use skills easier, if you wanna look at it that way.

Good reasons, though I went thorugh at least the story dungeons with little problems to hit those sizes. Not sure if the post game dungeons have those requirements as well. After studying moonrunes for the past 2 years, I'm finally about ready to start my first playthrough of an untranslated game. Obviously it will consist of lots of dictionary-consulting, and a bunch of sentences will make little sense to me, but you gotta start somewhere right? Augh, I always forget to check this, too, but I'm pretty sure your total stat gains at Z is like +30 for everything. I do like that Hatsumune mode is something you can choose to activate at will when you need it instead of it activating immediately on the floor you hit K cup on (which was how it was in the original).

This saved my hide a number of times. Longer dungeons incentivize you to use it as much as you can when you need it, which I like.

I haven't used it, but imiwa? on iOS seems pretty comprehensive, and it includes an offline mode. You just need to make sure that you've installed the Chinese - Traditional Handwriting keyboard in the settings menu for kanji. It's 723 MB though, so gonna have to make space for it.

Google Translate includes an offline mode if you make sure to download the relevant language packs first. It does require you to be on at least iOS 8 to do that, of course.

Not too familiar with what's available on the Google App store, unfortunately.

But yeah, I feel ya with the internet issues. I don't do much in the way of digital downloads mostly for that reason.

No problem, though to be fair in my case I do learn languages a bit faster than average, but yeah as long as your learning method suits you then you'll be learning in no time.

While not a question directed at me, Windows allows you to use IME pad to hand write kanji, and the recognition is pretty good. For one it doesn't requite proper stroke order so it's easy to use.

Also I recommend tagaini jisho for your PC dictionary. It's great for searching kanji using components (it's basically like radical, but much more flexible since you can use any part of the kanji to search, not just the ones in radical library). IMO this method of kanji lookup helps learning kanji better than handwriting, since not only it's faster, you're also going to be looking up for the kanji from its parts that you do recognize so it's going to be memorized faster.

Adding to this, there was also a PC app called Houhou which I used in my first few months of learning. It's basically a spaced repetition system, but it's easy to use and IMO more effective than, say, Anki. It's based off WaniKani if you've ever heard that, but you can make your own list of what kanji/words you want to learn, so you can write down the kanji/words you found when playing, input into Houhou, then follow the SRS schedule.

Another method is to play a game on PC or read manga/novels on PC then use KanjiTomo. This is only recommended once you already have a good grasp, because it instantly tells you what a kanji is without needing you to write/recognize the components, you need to already be used to quickly memorizing a kanji's shape otherwise you won't be learning. This is what I do these days, buy some digital LN/manga then read it with KanjiTomo open on the side in case I find words I'm not familiar with.

Note though that these methods are mostly useful for reading. For writing they're not very useful, hand writing each kanji is still the most effective for this.
