EX missions are tuned extremely high, you really want to have endgame loadouts for them.

Mashing duplicates together also does it as well as nyau chips you get from EQ shop. EQs shit out Lillipans like you wouldn't believe, you will have more than you'll ever need.

Fighter, Twin Dagger using Facet Folia PA chip. Facet Folia is absurdly overtuned to the point there's very little reason to use anything else. There are other things but Facet Folia is good everywhere in any loadout. Even just a 6* facet folia chip is enough to btfo the majority of 10/11* PA chips.

If you want to affix a weapon, the fodder material has to be weapons; if you want to affix a unit, the fodder has to be units

An item can only be used as fodder if it has an equal number of affixes or higher than the base item you are trying to actually affix

It doesn't need to be exactly the same item, but there is a slight success rate bonus if this is the case, this generally isn't something you go out of your way to do, unless you're making fodder to use on something else (or sell for someone else to do so).

There's a lot more to it beyond those basics

The most basic rules of affixing are that:

1) Fodder cannot have lower slots than the base item, but it can have more
2) Maximum of 5 fodder pieces
3) Increasing the number of abilities on a item will incur an increasing rate penalty. Usually this is counteracted by using Ability Boosters (excube shop)
4) [Boss Name] Souls usually affect the transfer rate of certain abilities. Check the affix simulator by hovering over the name.
5) Units and weapons can only use fodder of their respective type. No weapon fodder for unit affixing or vice-versa.

The not hard nor hard or fast rules are that:

Things usually require pairs of three to transfer, except for certain pieces (Fevers, and low value/grade affixes such as Power I, Body I, Mind I, etc. On the simulator, they are referred to as Junk A through I where any of the 100% transfer abilities will suffice. When affected by a Soul that boosts the transfer rate, only two are needed, as well.

Here's a basic affix to get into the concept with. Rather than copy this blindly, try replicating this affix for R-ATK and T-ATK to get a handle for how it works. To save you the trouble of looking, the equivalent to Quartz Soul for R and T ATK is Mizer Soul and Elder Soul

I personally like suggesting Kaiser + some 12* leg like Elmre so that you can get ahold of something like Step Jump + Hunter Gear Save as Hu, or S-Roll+TMG Stance up as Gu, or etc ASAP until you have a proper set to use.

Something like this is a pretty solid long term plan for someone trying to get good units, I'd say. Just focus on doing each first step on each unit before going onto the next one, with the final one being the "finish" way down the road.

Just start with buying the unit at 2 slots if possible, and then start at the first panel and move forward as you can afford to. Everything is what you see, just buy the fodder off the visiphone. Not a lot of concocting to do. As for the second to last panel, Spirita Boost is so cheap right now, 300K can get you a lot of extra stats to hold you over, because the next step is a pretty big jump in budget, so it might be a little before you can do it. If you're frugal, skip it and put junk there.

I wouldn't even recommend saiki to beginners. I'd say run Hiei, and affix a cheap 90 atk set, craft to ex3 for HP, then swap to 12* units once you get a hold of a few. It would be around 1M per unit just to affix each hiei, since there's only 40k affix tax on it for using 5 fodder. All they have to do if mess with the base a bit, but that's nothing on a hiei set.

The way I set up the initial affix goes out of its way to repeatedly dodge the huge scaling on 5x fodder.

3x, 3x, and 4x fodder ends up running 300K, 300K, and then 460K across an entire upgrade life. Meseta well spent IMO, given the improvement over 7* stats. When these are meant to last up until you can literally lock this unit into a fully completed piece, I feel like opting for something a little more competitive is ideal so that you're not just getting fucked in the interim. Skimping out is gonna hurt you when you're in XH/level 80 potentially still on Hiei, depending on how cruel drops are for you. I can't say I'd feel comfy seeing someone in my Gracia still wearing Hiei.

I will say I totally forgot about Double + Shine set though, and it's probably better overall but you're gated into playing PvP. Kind of a chore when Aura weapons as well mean you might potentially need even more Battle Coins, ontop of weekly SG and 40% tbqh

80 ATK/40 PP 120 HP on Double+Shine Red, vs something like,

100 R&S-ATK/ 38 PP 80 HP on Kaiser+Elmre Leg

EX3 is going to leave Double pretty flimsy, but when you have to carry around Elmre leg toting about 100 less defensive stats each than even Shine Red w/ Kaiser, it very likely evens out in the end. Hard to really say which ends up better, Shine Red is probably harder to farm than Weapon Badges for Elmre, but at EX8 it's definitely more potent than Kaiser+Elmre. Raises the expense even more though, but arguably worth? If you have a 12* leg already, Kaiser + [insert-non-Elmre-leg] is probably ideal for S/R-ATK though. A better leg closes the gap easily.

If the guy wasn't at 75 already I'd agree with you, the upgrade path I suggested to people I know directly who started in EP4 went: very early Hiei with base easy affixes when they reach SH, which were then used to affix Kaiser+Saiha (Ray Leg dropped for the S-ATK player in LQ2) in between SH and XH/80 content, and then completed 12* sets past that.

Aero/Torim: Specializes in massive target DPS utilizing thing torim stab, slash, and spiral with the former being its highest DPS. Its typically best to use SPiral on something thats going to have a lot of down time either or you're gonna have to git gud on preempting spiral charging and having the positioning tight Reccomended parfaits are usually Megaton/ideal parfait and Blast/ares (if you really want you swap the blast parfait for something like EWH or bolster parfait if you wanted)

Viola: Essentially a tank pet with a super saiyan form. it can be used for both single target and mobbing. Keep in mind in mind when its under the super saiyan mode its attack power increases but at the cost of have dramatically reduced PP,and its attacks being very slow. you're gonna have to learn when to switch between regular mode and SS mode. Also having something like Qliph takt or Buster takt can help alleviate this to an extent

Redran: Yet again, another mobbing pet. Its mobbing is pretty fast and efficient but its PP more than jinga/wanda. Luxury (reduces PP cost) and and Bolster (parfait that increases damage depending on how close you are to your pet)

Shinkurou (aka not!Lucario):A single target DPS pet. This pet can combo/chain his PAs 2-4 times to increase the power of his strongest PA Shinkurou Geki (basically his own proprietary BHS) this can get a tad wearing on your PP so make sure you give it the rolls that reduces your pets PP consumption when under Alter Ego. Parfaits: Megaton and Perfect Keeper parfait (The latter can be obtained from one of Pietro's Client orders)

Addendum: Some of shimkurou' move have invulnerability, Namely his tatsu/tornado kick which name escapes me. this move is more or less equivalent to a FI using DCO

Other information: Summoners dear maser skill got buffed to have 100% proc rate. essentially you cant fucking dies unless you are literally mentally challenged

Rolls: with exception of melon, maron, and shinkurou. you can be somewhat free form with what rolls you give the other pets but ehh

You are better off just playing some other stuff for now, if you have any intentions of playing Bow BR in the future you should definitely buy a Divine Raikou now though, they are disgustingly cheap because everyone is getting rid off them but are absolutely integral to playing the class. Spam Sharp Bomber 0 on multiple mobs. For multiple mobs you stock up 3 Chasers, plant a Banishing Arrow, and then trigger it with a charged PenArrow and as many uncharged ones as you can. If you aren't in a position to get a Banish off you spam more PenArrows.
Your damage will be garbage though, even with the best gear you can possibly get. It's just not good anymore, at all. It used to be strong but very unpopular because it's a huge cunt to get your damage out properly and takes a lot more skill than you'd think, but now they completely trashed the class and overnerfed it so hard it's not even funny. You can probably do more single target damage as a Wand Techer just spamming left click, I'm not even joking.

There's not a big enough motivation to run it. The problem with content you can do any time is that pubbing it sucks. When UQ was in its prime with Ult Lillipa there would normally only be 1-3 full groups running it at a given time. Not big surprise that AQ with the massive capsule issue still doesn't have people scrambling to do it at all hours of the day. It's pointless to run without a full party anyway and you really need to premade it to get the most out of boost as well.
