You're forgetting that in this game planes can do torp runs from the side of a mountain, and can also maneuver like TIE fighters.

I think a good addition to the game would be giving AA a bonus to the damage dealt to planes during their attack run, and to balance the thing nerfing AA across the board. My idea behind is that this would force CV into scouting more and would equalize their damage output because less planes would manage to land hit, while in turn they would survive more while not attacking.

Ideally CV should be removed, but we can't have everything.

I'd have to go look up the in-service date to know if that was built and deployed before the US 5"/25 guns, though I'm not even sure those were provided with an anti-suface shell.

Also, the Brits had their 4.7" guns, those also had an AA role. Not sure when and how those made it into service, and wether they were actually meant to be DP guns.

It can't torp you. It can HE bomb you, but the drop circle is an actual circle so they're inaccurate as fuck. And the AP bombs have this ridiculous 5 second delay so they'll never hit you unless you're completely stationary. Imagine if your shells only dealt damage 5 seconds after they hit the target, and if the target moved out of the way in that 5 second period they'd be completely fine. That's the Graf Zeppelin. And Wargaming is touting that as a feature for skilled players only. Their planes are also made of glass so even the BBs with the worst AA have little trouble shooting them down.

Believe it or not, the HE bomb circle is actually really good. You can attack from any angle. I played against an AS Lex - he overextended his planes a lot probably due to the bad press that Grafs fighters got. The fighters are pretty much like Shokakus anyway, and if you know how to handle them, its easy.

HE bombing is pretty easy pickings - stagger approach, farm damage, receive win. Thats not to say that Graf Zepp is incredible or anything. Keep in mind that if I played Shokaku or Enterprise, I could've dominated even harder.

Easiest way to see which names are valid is to download an existing mod and just snooping around the folders. Once you do that, you can replace them with anything you want as long as it's the same dimensions and it has transparent background.

In WT, the p2w aspect is not the ammo, it's that the vehicles you buy with money are just plain better than the normal pleb freeplayer tanks.

At least some of them are, some are trap options to make the goyim pay.

In WoTthey let you buy the 'gold' ammo for credits, but it'S tuned in a way that means you will lose credits if you fire more than a few rounds of it per game.
It really was one of the less toxic metization schemes for f2p games.
It was not a problem for most average players to break even while keeping four or five gold rounds ready for when you really needed them, but when WG decided to introduce tons of vehicles that were essentially immune to normal AP from the front in combination with three-lane-maps that worked like idiot funnels, disabled flanking and ambushes by design (lol@ meds, lights and TDs XD) it became cancerous.

And it became hopeless when they introduced more and more guns with shitty normal AP, but absolutely OP gold ammo.

There was Star Conflict, it was the same style of game without anything too ridiculous and some good space combat. But I've heard it's gone to shit through updates with the grind becoming exponentially longer and generally more pay to win. Not all that surprising since Gaijin was behind it. It's a shame, since I felt like they did the ships with the destroyer and battleship type roles better than WoWs. Imagine being a Khaba in a 3D environment zipping through asteroid fields. And the battleships had less firepower but just absurd survivability. Felt like being a space trucker and everything is just flies on your windshield. A lot more game modes than just cap the point too.

Yes. Their AP is also decent, so don't be afraid to shoot some broadsiding scrub. T4 CL is actually a sealclubbing machine.
You will see hueg numbers at the end of the battle, but I wouldn't consider their actual impact on battle that high, since they don't have support tools.
Also, if you are into that thing, you can spec T10 into secondaries.

I suspect people really underestimate the usefulness of French CA AP because now that I've gotten to the Charles I'm finding a crazy number of situations where I can just cit broadside cruisers to death really quickly.
Might be due to them expecting a ship that does nothing but mindlessly spam HE or because thanks to the speed you can end up popping up from odd angles. Either way it's actually really great to fire AP pretty often.
