The weight on his chest breathed steadily, her hot breath tickling his skin as it escaped from the gap her dropping mandibles created.
Her eyes were half-closed, watching the holographic movie, but she was tired and he could feel how she struggled to stay awake, how her headmovements slowed to a crawl, her eyes closing only for her defiant mind railing against rest to force herself awake again.
He knew why she forced herself to be lucid, usually she never resisted a nap on his chest but now Thraxis Chronicles was on the holo, and she needed to know if Illiothax and Therani would finally get together. But as the episode kept dragging out the reveal, her defiant twitches and groans became all the more rare as she started to succumb to sleep.

Then, in one final act of rebellion she bent her leg, forcing her long spur into his thigh. The sudden pressure and pain caused her human mattress to move, just enough to disturb her rest and reposition her body.
"Jesus christ." He murmured. "We can record it, go to sleep already." She looked up at him, her cyan eyes barely visible between her nearly closed eyelids. She yawned, her mandibles vibrated as the muscles controlling them stretched along with her jaw. "I want to see the end."
He sat up, bringing her up with him. "in that case I need to change position, your collar is digging into my chest."
She mouthed a quiet "sorry" as she sat up beside him, pulling the blanket over her body.

They watched the show together, at the end he fell asleep on her shoulder.

It moved slowly, methodically over the mass of people, ignoring their cries of fear as it strode on legs like skyscrapers.
Yet with every thundering step the screams grew quieter as the itch in their minds grew into an oppressive calm. He felt it too, a wall of enforced tranquility, his thoughts dulled and rendered harmless. Then another part of him grew, the itching part in the very back of his head piercing through the foggy maze of his self, sharp and black and slicing through his synapses, his thoughts.
The crowd at the reaper's feet ceased their cowering and started following, treading through mounds of broken glass and twisted rebar, pulled by the itch, the scratching on the inside of their craniums that stabbed orders into their heads.
The civilians didn't scream as the reaper relayed rudimentary combat-training directly into their heads. Previously terrified house maids and courtesans fashioned crude re-bar clubs while once-soldiers distributed side-arms and grenades.
Yet throughout all this, a small part of his mind remained, locked in a battle with the itch, swelling against the growing forest of razors beamed into his head.
He managed a twitch, then a shake. He started limping, falling behind the horde as his system fought with itself, the reaper strode onwards, one of many didn't matter, it didn't register the loss because the crowd was never a gain, just a side-effect of being.
He slipped past a family of quarians holding their boot-knives in shaking hands, they wore matching red suits and they walked without looking, like the rest of the crowd. He noticed they never looked at their feet, yet they never fell. The reaper somehow having merged the entirety of the horde into a networked entity, sharing data freely.

It was beautiful.

Tears flowed, as he realized how hopeless resistance was. He fell to his knees, his self a ragged mess of raw thoughts and wounds in the mind, his head ached and his vision blurred by the tears now falling freely from his eyes.
The itch remained, whispering in a language he didn't understand, something guttural and elaborate. The connection was not broken, it was just damaged. He'd never be rid of this horror, it was too late, it had been planted in all of them. They could never beat ease again.
He listened to the deep voice in his head, unable to turn his inner eye from it.
Then he smiled, grinning as understanding dawned on him.
He understood, finally, the language unfurled into English, translated from the tongue of a distant land
It was good. Good that he opened it, the message, he smiled. Smiled wider than ever before, wider than when he met his alien lover, wider than ever.
Tears flowed from his eyes, his deranged grin guided him upward, happiness brought him onto his feet.
This wasn't his own mind, this wasn't the reapers. It wasn't asari miltary command, because they were busy tending to what was left of their planet. It was from another.
Oh god it was so beautiful. The little seed in his head, in everyone's head, growing, blossoming into a beautiful flower.
He wasn't as weak as the voice thought. He survived, he was better than the rest! He started running back towards the crowd, laughing in his head as the cacophony of the others gently probed into his head. He joined the network, or the network joined him, he wasn't the only one who saw, who understood. The voice had fooled them all, acceptance and love flowed over him.

You must import a save from ME2, peace is impossible without it.

The important choices are for Tali to have been acquitted in her trial, for the Heretic Geth to have been destroyed, and the Tali-Legion conflict to have been resolved (paragon or renegade choice on that doesn't matter)

You can flip ONE of those choices if you want (having Tali exiled from the fleet or saving the Heretics) and still get peace if you do all the Rannoch side quests in ME3.

I think for most players on their first main play through, the Heretics choice is the only place people will lose points. Most would go for the best Tali trial outcome and defuse the argument.

Before the eyes got fixed they lacked shaders and that's what makes them look realistic. Texture work and shape accuracy only do half the job. Bioware Montreal or whoever they outsourced to were clearly incompetent, because Frostbite can handle proper eyes just fine.

Having Tali and Legion survive ME2 is a good start. Next thing is you need to solve their dispute on even terms (you need them both loyal to you, so either renegade or paragon option). Also it´s good if Tali doesnt get banned so she can become an Admiral, however it´s not important whether you kill or rewrite the heretics in ME2.

In ME3 you need to acquire a high reputation level, and a somewhat high renegade level, furthermore you need to save Admiral Koris first, if that mission becomes available do it right away. I also think you need to have completed all the Sidequests on Rannoch first, e.g. disabling the Geth fighters that threaten the Live ships.

When the time has come allow Legion to upload the reaper code and then use the renegade talk options (threatening the Fleet), Tali and Koris will back you. Thus the fleets stop firing and you have both assets.

The skintight armour with ceramic plates from the first game was an "homage" to classic sci-fi. The sequels threw that out the window and started bulking up already in ME2, with the largest (and most ugly) being the one Vega uses in ME3.

Massive armour like that absolutely doesn't fit Mass Effect, in my eyes, and would clash something extreme with the other design (but then, they already switched the design of the games on its head in the sequels, so whatever, I guess). Exoskeletons already exist in Mass Effect, you can upgrade you hardsuits in the first game to use them (although without cosmetic change), and since Mass Effect is closer to modern sci-fi, and any powered armour would still be a lot smaller, probably closer to Halo or Crysis.

Fallout has massive suits of powered armour because it's retro sci-fi, where everythings hydraulic.
