I have a question about the Mig-29.

I'm having problems landing it. Every other plane I can land just fine that I own. I can land the F-5. I can land the Mig-21, I can land the F-15, I can land the flanker.
Something about the Mig-29 is causing me to roll off the runway and crash every time. Even if I cut all the engines and take my hand off the stick, when I touch down I'm always at a really high velocity and the rolling doesn't slow it down.

Okay, I actually managed to land it at <1000 kg fuel and no armaments, I'll try that next time.

For whatever reason, my other attempts the Dragchute REFUSED to deploy, and I don't know why. I'm rather frustrated because I tried 4 attempts at landing just now and had to go around each time, only getting it after fuel was almost spent.

No, you speed is fine. That's the speed you should be approaching the runway at, but not the speed you land at. Throttle should be idle when the wheels touch, and you should keep the nose up for aerodynamic braking.
It may help for you to extend the speed brake after touching down.
The yellow notch in the AOA indicator is a caution range, not your approach target.

It could also be that you're trying to land at a short airport, and the MiG just can't stop in time.... what airport is this?

Trying to make this shit as realistic as possible, have all the keybinds mapped to my head. But does the difficulty level increase artificial difficulty? I don't want to make it harder for myself than realistic, with the AI having 125% better accuracy.

So, the EO obviously is looking for heat right? Most of which comes from the engines. Aircraft at far distances that aren't in afterburners won't really show up if they are pointing towards you.

Personally, especially in the Flanker (since it's radar and display are actually good) I like to paint the area, get an idea of where the enemy is, and then get into a flanking (woah it all makes sense now) position in which I can now track the targets on EO because they are perpendicular to me so the EO actually picks them up.

You can sometimes get them on EO if they are head on and in full burner, but its unreliable.
Playing servers with AWACS and datalink on allow the Flanker to keep the radar off the entire time, and maneuver into positions to use the EO, staying silent and sneaky the entire time.

Imagine if plane to plane datalink actually worked in multiplayer. Me and 3 other people would get in a flight of 4. Two of us would paint the sky with radar, the other two would flank around the sides and stay on EO and fuck dudes up. It's almost like that's how the SU-27 was designed...
