i give up on trying to fix the Rising Sun troop trees. i'm just gonna make new ones from the geko trees. keep in mind the way geko reinforcements work is that armies will always recruit more troops from the villager line than the samurai line (about 2:1 i think).
the villager infantry line will be typical 19th century line infantry.
the villager skirmisher line will be turned into a 19th century cavalry line with lancers and swordsmen.
samurai line will be mostly the same but with armor reserved for end-tier units and the rest wearing kimono or uniforms.
the samurai cav could be mounted skirmishers with carbines/revolvers to differentiate them from the sword and lancer cav villagers upgrade into.
thoughts?

Honestly, I don't really know how you're going to differentiate between castle and village troops, mounted skirmishers seems like a smart way to go. I honestly have no idea how you're going to differentiate infantry though. That's a tough one.

Man this AWOIAF mod seems bugged as hell. I made sure to select the option to NOT have factions stuck on their books/tv show relations and yet they seem to be completely stuck on it forever, not to mention a few factions have already lost all lands but were never marked as eliminated for some unknown reason/bug.

As a result there are no more wars in the map because the factions that are alive are stuck in war with factions that only exist on paper and never declare war against any other faction.

The game is pretty much ruined. Who the fuck said this mod was good again?

Not him but considering I've sunk probably 500 hours into single player even though mods like PoP are great, refreshing and polished, I still feel like I've done everything a thousand times before, its so repetitive and I only feel a bit of satisfaction when I see how well my 4 boxes of pikemen(different tiers) positioned around my middle group of crossbows finally works against a cav charge, other than that I do feel a bit of pride whenever I whittle down some of the early game bandits and don't lose a single tier 1 but after that its all the same shit; follow lord, click chat dialogue, click to go to village on map, recruit troops, 5 troops, buy cheese, buy dried beef, go to tournament. It actually seems more exciting when I type it all out, I've learned when I resort to cheats to skip all the grinding I just lose interest even quicker even though I usually just get money/exp and don't abuse the "kill set number of enemies"

I like the female va for battle commands on PoP though and the ui, how do I learn to enjoy the single player again like all the regular posters here? Unless they're all on their first or second playthrough and it still feels fresh?

1. You don't choose which would you like, you just wait for proper oportunity
2. Once battle is won it's still far away from owning a castle. Next thing and actuall battle is about keeping it (former owner will come to get it back). So it's mainly about fixing proper garrison(ish) bunch of people in short time, to defend it.

You're right, they do have a point. But what's worrying is that they seem to implying that the game was, is, and will be in development for an indefinte amount of time. You would think that, while they may not have an exact date in mind, they at least have an estimated frame of release given how "finished" they've deemed the game to be. But they don't, which means either they will release it once it's ready (like they've stated), or there's some sort of problem in the dev cycle. My fear is that it's the latter.

CTT is a mod for late game, any kingdom has it's own troops and troop trees, with that mod your kingdom will have its own just like the other ones.
Dickplomacy is Diplomacy with some adult contents, while Diplomacy is also mostly a late game mod, it also adds some necessary general tweaks like giving Horse Archers a specific AI, basically any mod uses it and for good reasons. Listen to me, if you want a native+ experience use CTT+dickplomacy or Tocan's (which has Diplomacy and other good shit like PBOP and reasonable tweaks), if you want something more different read the pastabin and see what can interest you.

Making new ones from scratch is probably the best plan, they really are fucked from the start.

Mounted skirms seems like a great idea for castle troops, and maybe have breastplate-wearing pikemen as far as infantry goes, maybe wearing the weird shell-like Jingasa. Kimono wearing nodaichi/naginata wielding troops would be pretty cool too, could be used as shock troops. Maybe maybe consider heavy sword cavalry for samurai, lighter armored lancers for villagers.
