Back during S5/6, I didn't start tear on ez. The reasoning being that his early game is strong, exceptionally strong. At early levels, Q hits like a truck. Tear negates that strength.

I rushed BF, turned it into ER. I then bought tear, or some other high AD item like BT or IE. Manamune I finished third. It worked out well.

You can do something similar right now by rushing duskblade and hitting 500 dmg q. But you will have mana problems and manamune is not worth buying if you can't stack it before 25-30 minutes since the damage falls off hard in the late game. Same with trinity. The crit build is okayish but you dont really have a strong mid game anymore and you're late game is not as good as other crit adcs since he has no utility or crazy dmg steroid like everyone else

The difference between Morde and Urgot was that Urgot had a very unhealthy playstyle. If you ignore his ult, Morde plays very similar to other juggernauts, especially Darius and Illaoi. That's what I love about Morde. He may have very low mobility, no CC, and low range, but he bonks the ever loving shit out of anyone he can reach.

If they keep that aspect of his when they rework him, I'll be content. What I don't want is for him to be turned into a tank that deals mediocre damage, or for them to try that "hurr durr melee marksman" nonsense again.
