It's pretty good for the 2.x series, but I feel like the Heavensward Hildi quests were really lacking in comparison. They felt more "afterthought" and having no trials with them didn't help in my opinion. I hope SB Hildi returns to the 2.x formula.

Hello please help me to git good as DRG
I try to test my dps on a dummy(I use O1S dummy, is this correct one?) and i barely get 3.2k. My ilvl is 316. Melds are mostly V, VI DET in Weapon and belt.
DRG who does savage in my FC say that this is very low dps, and that he could do 4.4k on a dummy.
The dude also said that 7k opener is the absolute minimum for endgame, i barely do 5.8k in opener.

What do i do wrong? Any tips? Maybe it's specific food? Do i need CRIT or DH food? I used DH. Do i need delay/change anything?

Try just on a standard dummy as well. That is pretty low either way. Are you clipping abilities or just not doing them as they are ready? It helps if you mash the ability out. I just tried the O1S dummy now and I'm getting 4k dps with a 7.7k opener. My ilvl is 313 and I used NQ grilled sweetfish and x-pot of STR. You shouldn't be melding DET however, DH where you can and CRIT elsewhere.

Your opener seems okay but delaying your jumps ultimately delays you getting nastrond. Personally, I do what seems to be the standard opener which is http://ffxivrotations.com/xt8

it goes without saying but make sure you're hitting your positionals and getting 3 nastronds per LoTD

Dark Knight is pretty good. No more Delirium combo, makes up for it with neat stuff like being able to Dark Arts your Siphon Strike, a barrier with The Blackest Night, and more MP regeneration even with a nerfed Blood Price.

Red Mage is a good caster that can buff up physical team comps and has great utility and mobility. Samurai is one of if not the highest damaging DPS in the game.

This is an insanely tricky question to answer because it depends both on boss you're fighting, rng procs, and your comp all at the same time

But I generally do acceleration at 9s prepull, diversion at 6 or 7, veraero at 5, verthunder at pull, run up while potting, verholy veraero, displacement back, then it's up to your procs, but you want to dash back in then hit embolden + mana fiction for highest personal dps at at least 40/40 for rapier combo, fleche contra sixte in between rapier combo, expend dash or backflip depending on what mechanic is next (if you can be in melee backflip on flare/holy then dash back in after for physical attacks)

it goes back to ffxi, where DRG was (maybe still is, i don't know) an utterly useless job for several years. it carried over due to their low magic resist, they died to AoE other jobs would not die to. jumps also used to have really bad animation locking in ARR. the stigma never really went away, they were also the most popular job overall in ARR.

They used to die. A lot. Partly because their players were usually memes, but mostly because Jump had an animation lock that lasted an age and a half. If you used it at the wrong time - say, during Titan's Landslide - you'd die and embarrass yourself. The animation lock is still there, but it's been reduced and the average players aren't quite that silly anymore, so it's really just tradition.

They are bullied these days due to Life of the Dragon being a bitch and a half when it comes to untargetable phases on bosses, though.

You just don't macro your skills in this game. This game handles macros poorly so you're only fucking yourself if you do it. When you get higher level, you will start weaving in oGCDs and if you macro your skills, you can't do that which in turn makes you lose DPS.

tl;dr Macro your abilities if you want to be a shitter. Don't if you want to actually do damage.

He's not talking about the Disembowel combo (it's true you always want to do that before your True Thrust combo), but about macros. Macros are finnicky, and trying to use multiple skills in one slot tends to have noticeable delays or sometimes doesn't even register.

Basically, you're gimping yourself if you rely on macros for things like your important combos, and it's best to get used to not using them outside of certain things like swapping role actions or such. If hotbar space is an issue, I'm sure there's other ways to fix that.

Aero 3 is meant for groups.
Aero 2 is meant for single targets, and when you need to be mobile.

Being a tank is so fun, but it can be painful sometimes. I'm still unsure as to my limits when pulling large groups. This doesn't apply to every fight of course, but sometimes when I don't pull too many enemies together the DPS get anxious, and when I do pull them, it turns out my healer can't heal enough and I die. I really need a bit more experience. I don't drop aggro, and my enemy positioning is fine, but knowing exactly how many enemies to pull is my next challenge. And yes, I'm using my CDs.
