Jack for example might be appealing but she isn't limited so even if you fail to roll her during her rateup she could still appear anytime later in another gacha randomly.

I don't know what you imagine a "newbie-friendly" even to be, but FGO doesn't really have anything that would give you benefits for starting during it as far as I remember. As a matter of fact, there are items like Grails and Lores, of which there is only a limited number in the game and the longer you wait, the more likely you are to miss them.

Anyone else find Marie's animations extremely lackluster? All her cards look pretty much the same, whatever that purple magic bolt that she throws is the same, even for the extra card. And her NP animation, the beginning of it is literally two command card animations pasted in. I love her and it saddens me to see Gilgamesh, or pretty much any other servant with quality animations whilst my waifu is stuck with an arm raise or two and a shitty magic ball. Perhaps she'll get updated.
