I got 2 arm drops in skyscape exploration during a boost week. The current LQs drop Ray units, they work too. I think I understand Hero now.

Hero is intentionally broken and stupid easy to play because Sega finally realized that the average player is fucking garbage. I've noticed after two days of running LQs and EQs as Hero that I'm *vastly* outdamaging every other Hero in the parties I'm in, while in the hands of other players, they're just about keeping pace with my minmaxed non-Hero classes. I think Sega intentionally released Hero as an overpowered class to make it so that pubby shitters aren't a burden in quests; it's only absurd in the hands of someone who's decent at the game.

RA is virtually fucking worthless in ep5.

You have to JA all your attacks with a weapon that doesn't let you use normal attacks, so you have to waste 16 PP on a standing snipe to JA into a real DPS attack. Meanwhile Hero's first attack is always a JA. You have to stand perfectly still to activate standing snipe or else you lose 30% of your damage, while TMG hero can jump around the place and still do max damage. You also have to be an arbitrary distance away from your target or else you lose 20% of your damage, while TMG hero doesn't care about distance and even has the same range as rifle.

For ranger, it's all conditionals, conditionals, conditionals, all that you must follow perfectly just so that you can do the same (or worse) DPS than hero, and then you have to switch to an orbit and throw grenades to refill your PP while the hero refills his PP in less than half the time. Hero's only conditional is "lol don't get hit".

Ranger might not have been nerfed in ep5, but it has been made obsolete. The only reason to play ranger now is for weak bullet, so you can be the support slut who enables the 11 heros in your MPA to do 20% more damage.

The worst part is sega didn't buff WHA nor standing snipe to make up for the loss in power of WB. When they nerfed WB to 2.55x, they at least buffed WHA to make up for the loss. Now WB is a 1.2x modifier, RA pretty much lost about 50% of its multipliers. Sure, sega claims to have adjusted older content for it but seeing how other classes are, I doubt they really adjusted properly.

It's a dead class and it's all thanks to sega not playtesting their own game.
