That's what XSEED's planned for. FC brings in newbies, those who complete it move on to SC, and that game further weeds out those who can and want to get 3rd and play it. Over time the completion ratio (according to achievements) stay the same, but this helps sales over time as long as FC keeps selling to a lot of new owners. It's almost at 300k and should continue to rise as long as people learn about the series.
