Here's an interesting thing about this hack, Areone is Lex except he cannot activate the Lex Brave Axe event without Lex's Iron Axe.
However, the generic guard of the first castle in Verdane drops one.
I messed up and let Ovo kill him so a little bit of cheating allowed me to buy Areone that Axe.
Now I can do the event.
