There's a mysterious lack of Deathclaw packs in Fallout 4, but they have, several times in past games, lived in packs. I'm also pretty sure in FO1 / FO2 / Tactics its also been shown they live in packs. Also didn't FO3 have a cave full of Deathclaws too?

I've seen a few pairs of deathclaws, but nothing on the level of deathclaw promontory or the quarry.

I vaguely remember Lynn woods, I remember the tower there. I've seen deathclaw packs come to my deathclaw settlement a few times though. I had a bunch of their friends locked up in cages and I didn't let them out.

Also some anecdotal evidence, I was doing a railroad quest to kill a courser, when I find the courser he's fighting bloodbugs, so I let him do that to soften him up. One of the bloodbugs leads him to a nearby super mutant camp, the courser aggros on to the muties, and ends up killing the whole camp. Finally had to kill him, but wanted to share his story

Are there any mods that make the main story less goofy? Nate doesn't EVER act like his INFANT SON was just kidnapped. He just rolls into town, asks "hey have you seen a baby around here or something," and then spends his time fixing leaking pipes and getting involved in settlement hijinks. Mod order aside, I know there's something messing with the model for non-vanilla rifles. It only does this on the Mauser Family and the Modern Firearms rifles. Is there a way to see what mod may be influencing this bug? Would that Loot program help?

I've made my Plasma jetpacks recharge cores, but its capped at 40% once ejected.

I've made it get rid of AP drain completely, but it drains cores VERY quickly; however, when not in use, it recharges them! As you can see in this webm here. That mod has some issues though, notably sound issues related to the jetpacks I keep forgetting to fix.

I never knew you could give Dez intel on every stage of the Institute quest until recently because i avoided the RR HQ for exactly that reason.
I also regret that the 'tute teleporter simply drops you off at the same fasttravel locations as normal fasttravel.
Just seemed kind of odd to teleport right into DC market in a blinding flash of light with nobody blinking an eye.

Nuka World is simply fetchquest exploration without an actual story worth speaking of.
Everything else can't even be really called DLC.

What? This isn't true at all. Legion was the only chance to be true rape kill murder, but almost every quest and interaction had a variation for being a dick. I'm just going to hijack this goofy ass post as an opportunity to shill how I handle the terrible story of Fallout 4, using a little bit of creative roleplaying. Everyone knows about start me up (http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18946/?) which allows for alternate starting locations as well as an overhaul to the dialogue that does a serviceable job at removing all mentions of shaun and the PC's family.

But that along side the public maintenance shortcut (http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/21761/?) allows for a janky but backstory-free way to experience the fallout 4 story. the mod allows you to skip the mainquest right up to entering the institute, essentially removing the need to headcanon your characters reasoning for rescuing nick valentine in order to get into the institute, as well as removing the need to think up a reason to hate kellogg so much. you can skip right to shaun, which after mashing the skip button through, allows you to experience the rest of the fallout 4 story and side with any factions you choose with minimal mention or inclusion of the PC's backstory.

There's no way in hell unarmed or even melee could work on an 3x survival without maxing sneak as quick as possible, I reckon.
Even then, the ranged damage must just be way too high.

What makes things worse for me, too, is that I've got a mod that brings DLC enemies + guns to the wasteland, so normal raiders can be carrying harpoon guns or handmade rifles, both of which completely obliterate in one - four shots respectively.

Actually, several people ion the Railraod make mention that the Institute probably does know where they are, and that they are only being kept alive because The Institute never really considered them a significant threat.

Because The Institute really doesn't care.

According to the Railroad's own records, there have been like less then 200 escaped synths in the last 60 years, and the Institute has found most of them, even many of the ones helped by the Railroad.

The Institute never really considered The Railraod as anything more then a minor annoyance.

They have raided and destroyed the Railroad's HQ, and killed its leader, like 4 different times in the past, and they know they could easily do it again any time they wanted.

The railroad was attacked the last time because their location was a little too... important, I guess. I mean, being an old base of the pre-war government and having some of the systems it had, it gave them an edge.
Moving into the underside of a church? The institute has no reason to believe they could've seriously lugged around loads of desks, computers, security systems and god knows what to fortify the place and give themselves a step up any more.
So far as the Institute cares, the Railroad are little more than LARPing faggots who are occasionally a small pest, but not a real threat.

That's why they don't remove them initially. Not worth their time/resources to lose a load of bots over - because even though the game shows us a lot of synths being produced and out in the world, canon is that they don't produce all that many and gen3 synths are at a once a week basis.
As for the Gen1 & 2, god knows if they even produce them any more. You don't see their production facilities so its possible they don't.

They do, one of their quests is to find out the traitor in their ranks (Binet). Also the Railroad themselves mention they're nothing like they were, they're hiding out in 2 small rooms in the bottom of a church, much smaller and less technologically well off than the Switchboard. The Institute are probably still aware they exist but they don't know where and figured that killing nearly everyone in their primary base would cripple them permanently.

Personally I see the RR as more idealistic and negligent than out right evil. The Institute has records of more than one synth that has become dangerous to the general population after having contact with the RR and being mind wiped. One being the raider leader on the boat city, the other that comes to mind is the one they directly trained.

The directly trained one I can kinda let slide since the entire reports they have show it attacking coursers and synths that attempt recapture. However should something go buggy we now have a highly trained synth able to take on other synths that in lore are supposed to be terrifying.

The raider leader is a direct responsibility of theirs due to him being a danger to the general public, he has killed civilians, and other synths. Their failure to take action against something they directly caused is showing how little they care for the Common Wealth as a whole.

They've been blinded by their dogma of freeing synths even if it is to the detriment of those living in the area. They only ever decry the treatment of synths but never that of their fellow man who is also under the oppression of the Institute.

In my opinion they are a prime example of the road to hell being paved with good intentions. They wish to have synths regarded as sentient beings but disregard the needs and impact this may have on other sentient beings.

Like I mentioned earlier; the actual canon is that production of a synth happens once a week. The animation is looped so you get a chance to watch every aspect of it, but in game computer logs say the above.

Hell, even Evergreen Mills had its own little theme going for it being a raider settlement that was decently sized and laid out.

The Powder Gangers were easily more fleshed out than the Talon company. They are an existing faction that has changed how the Mojave works altogether because of their actions, which go all the way to Boulder City.

Most of Fallout 3's factions don't have any worthwile background:

- Megaton: built around a bomb, nothing else.
- Rivet City: built in an aircraft carrier, maybe add in the bit about the Mirelurks.

- Tenpenny Tower: tower for "rich" people, nothing else.
- Paradise Falls: enslaver town, nothing else.

With the exception of the Brotherhood of Steel and the Enclave, because of their links with the previous games, no other faction/town/settlement in Fallout 3 is as well developed as the Powder Gangers, a minor faction in New Vegas, are. It would have been pretty easy for Obsidian to make Powder Gangers a reskin of Raiders and call it a day. But these guys have their background, their motivation, their base, their leaders, their actions and consequences, and lasting consequences at that.

FO3's factions exist almost completely isolated from the rest of the game when you think about it. I'm willing to give you that FO3's factions are more "interesting" (read: wacky) than New Vegas', but they are extremely shallow. Case in point: there really isn't much to these factions other than the brief description I gave.

Nothing is ever going on at Tenpenny, neither at Megaton, Rivet City, Underworld, or anywhere else. No people with conflicts that go beyond "fix my water pump", no nothing.

This is simply not true: the Legion attacking Novac comes from Camp Nelson. Move it to Primm's location and they are free of Legionnaires. The reason they burned down Nipton is because they staged a huge trap, but most importantly, because Nipton "deserved it".

If you move Goodsprings east the Powder Ganger problem is gone. Same if you move Primm east. I wish there was a map that showcased the different faction's influences in the world map, but my point is this simply doesn't exist in Fallout 3. This is something that is explicitly said in game, though god knows who or where its stated since I haven't played it in years.
However, I distinctly remember this fact.

So that links Megaton to the Vault.
Megaton is also "linked" to the Super-duper mart, by its proximity - which is a raider outpost.
Same goes for the school nearby.
And Megaton is within sight of Tenpenny tower (by canon, though hardly so much by actual gameplay.)

It also serves to be the only majorly successful settlement outside of Rivet City that is both safe from external threat and accepting of visitors.

They were a whole other breed of problem. They'd kill us if they had to, but mostly they tried to drag people away! Alive! So, eventually, my father did something about it. Him and a few others organized the traders and the citizens and built the walls. So we're pretty safe now. Still, I wish those Brotherhood of Steel fellers hadn't hit on such hard times. They really helped keep the wolves at bay.

LW: So it was just a collection of traders in the beginning?
Manya: Not at first. It was a collection of people trying to get into the vault, people worshipping the bomb, and a few other refugees. Then the traders came. Now the caravans take care of most of the trading, but before they were set up, it was all Megaton. I worked on the caravans with my father for a while. That's how I met that worthless bag of liver spots I call a husband.

Personally I feel the Institute's main flaw is a leadership problem. Several scientists have been uneasy with some of the orders Father has given, especially Virgil who continually asked for the FEV experiments to be stopped and was over ruled everytime, along with Kellogg being a relied upon resource when he was objectively a horrible person. Which brings up a major flaw of them being unable to have any way to overrule Father if they feel he is in the wrong.

The other factor is do you believe something man made but has an AI that is either sentient or mimics it, should be treated on the same level as a human. The next is do you believe that humanity must be put above all else and anything else is just a tool to be controlled?

I got rid of item sorting mods and stuff, but some items still have the tags.

They do. The entire Pitt DLC is dedicated to raiders that talk to you, Smiling Jack in Evergreen Mill will initiate dialogue and not go hostile, same with the raiders/slavers in Paradise Falls. As for no one in Megaton mentioning raiders, first off, they do. Jericho and Stockholm (the sniper) both mention protecting the town from raiders, and two, they aren't nearly as much of a problem as they were.

It's not a matter of voiced vs silent, it's a matter of NPCs vs random terminal entries.

You take away all the character from NPCs, but there's always that handy terminal that explains everything you don't see in how NPCs behave. It's justifiable when the NPCs in question are dead (like the Mayor of Nipton), but not when those NPCs are still alive.

It's really not that good though, at the start of the game it's an already damaged T-45 when you'll likely have 1 fusion core and no perks to boost it's duration, nothing to repair the armour with, and nothing to upgrade it with. Not to mention it does away with underarmour bonuses. You can just as easily get the the APA in FO2 by fucking off to San Fran then to Navarro and savescumming a bit to avoid Enclave encounters.

That is false.

"Doing Power Armor right" is such a pointless statement because Bethesda DIDN'T got Power Armor right. They got PARTS of it right. But as a whole? They didn't. Neither did FO3 or New Vegas. Bethesda made some questionable improvements, and went backwards in many other regards.

The Fiends in New Vegas are at the height of their power until you get involved though, plenty of leaders, they control nearly all territory in outer vegas not inhabited by civilians, and they're well equipped with a personal vault. The Raiders in Springvale can't influence Megaton because they lost their only leader in a failed raid, operate out of a crumbling school, and are trying to fight off an ant nest they dug into. They can't influence Megaton that much.

The NPC's in Megaton hardly have no character though, less raider related dialogue than New Vegas citisens have but they have just as much dialogue and backstory, Moriarty stands as a good example. Not all NPC's are going to give away info through dialogue, especially if they want to keep it secret, hence it's revealed through terminals. Jericho and Stockholm both mention looking out for raiders.

You mentioned that quests completing without player involvement wouldn't be fun (true), but you do get involved in Ghost Town Gunfight (if you don't do Run Goodsprings Run), but the Powder Gangers are never a problem there again after, even if the Correctional Facility is still inhabited by them.

People got asspained with me when I said I sort of liked the perk system and my being fine with the skill system being gone. Like, you need to have HIGH charisma to get good at speech checks. As opposed to NV where you can have 1 charisma and still be able to pass all speech checks.

The current system isn't perfect though, I kinda hope CC adds more perks and stuff. THAT ARENT FUCKING VATS RELATED.

One day I am going to make a creature armor mod. Similar to battle trolls from the Dawnguard DLC from Skyrim, but covering most creatures. Except bugs and ferals.

I'm hoping to see an official, of sorts, creature taming system. Or something that works with wasteland worshop, and allows you to permanently tame and turn creatures into followers.

I'd like to make basic stuff like rusty claw attachments to deathclaws, all the way to titanium claws, body armor, helmets, maybe also visible cybernetic implants that you can only make with high medicine and high science that boost their stats further. Mirelurks would have armor plating bolted on to their carapaces, etc. Maybe also drugs, but I'd tie that into cybernetics I guess. Like a cybernetic device + 20 buffouts = a Deathclaw sized dosage of buffout, making it have permanently higher strength for melee attacks and also carrying more equipment and heavier armors.

My guess is its rigged to some sort of robot like Protectron, and they rigged its extra legs to alternate. That's how I'd do it anyway. Or attempt it. The jumpsuit is what they would wear under power armor canonically (and generally do in game) as it contains specialized interfaces to mesh with the armor
In the brandis quest line when you find the Knight in the national guard quest line it's implied she scuttled her damaged armor and is also in the jumpsuit
But scribes and knights who go out without power armor like the dead one outside the station use the brotherhood fatigues.
I think the terminal refers to him as a Knight and since he deployed without PA, he got the lightweight fatigues instead of the PA meshing suit

FC's would have worked better if they would have made the drain more intense. The problem with FC's is they give you a lot of them, and so long as you don't sprint you'll never run out even without taking Nuclear Physicist.

If they just made the cores drain a lot faster they'd have more value. Not to mention it should drain core not action points to use a jetpack.

That's why I like Matte with a natural color. It just flatens out the color on the lips so the lips color is consistent. Gloss and lipstick both are shiny and I dislike them. But if I had to choose between the two it'd be gloss.

I've been around for a while, but I guess I don't pay that much attention. What gives me away probably the most is the angles I take screenshots at. I have a thing with positioning the camera on the ground to look up to my characters. Thats why when I try and post pics of unknowns of mine I have to throw out like 90% of my screens.

Also, I think mods give it away for a lot of pics.

It's been almost 2 days since Cait left for her personal quest.

I thought about asking Deacon to trail her, just to keep her safe, but I quickly realized how crazy that sounded. It's even the same "justification" crazy people use.

I decided to just let her go. It's scary and these are the worst days since I woke up, but I need to be mature enough not to go running to her and ruining whatever it is she's doing. As much as I want to. She said she needs time and I need to respect that.

Heather even had to go briefly for just the evening to take care of some routine business that she does every weekend for her caravan. This is the first time I've found myself actually alone since I woke up.

It's as scary now as it was back then.

You need face ripper. Save your game so face ripper can read it.

Then use face ripper to apply it to the companion you want to make. You'll need the CK for this. Faceripper has directions in full on how to use it.

nope, you should replace the one in your install directory with the one from the latest update/crack
it's an updated one.

yes they are included in the "setup-1.bin" file which the exe will end up installing in your fallout 4\data\ directory once you run it.
