It's pretty likely at this point that Scott'll go with Phone Guy being Springtrap. It's a mystery left unsolved in a franchise that's moved towards answering every little thing, and is targeted firmly towards kids who want every little thing answered. I could see Scott going "Psyche! It was Phone Guy all along, it was never an Afton!", especially because Phone Guy goes out of his way to smash the ghost robots up.
And considering how you see a disembodied endoskeleton head in the parts and service room in FNAF 3, maybe Phone Guy survived and went to check those heads after all. There was absolutely nothing interesting

Yeah, actual new characters would be better, as opposed to Freddy but green. Kids' fanboyism insistence on sameness should've disqualified them from quality control immediately.

Ambiguity sounds good, too. Place a focus on atmosphere, as opposed to le leepest dore. Stop writing the game around minigames and cutscenes is what I'd add. I feel like he wrote 4 and SL around those "movies" you see on youtube that compile a game's cutscenes in one video, as he's probably aware most of his fans don't play the games.

Instead of making a viable horror franchise he put all his money on the reddit audience. Slender Man was big once, too. Then he fizzled out, because the kids who were drawn to it by Slender LPs went away towards the Next Big Thing. Pandering to these children was a stupid move on Scott's part, as he didn't work on establishing or retaining a concrete fanbase that would remain even when new things pop up.

Does anyone else wish Baby acted more like an actual clown? I think her autistic monotone voice would have some impact if we got to hear her happy and performing, maybe even have part of the in-between Night dialogue lines be coming from Baby, and culminate in the player hearing the kid get killed.
I think creating a manic, mentally unstable feel to Baby would set up the Afton's daughter twist a bit more organically.

That sounds good, although it'd be hard to really put that in a Clickteam.

Scott should've shown us how the animatronics were like during the day in SL. Maybe have the animatronics perform all their secret functions in a cutscene or audio log that flashes back to the day the daughter was killed. SL would probably feel a bit less empty with something like that giving us context for the kidnapping tech, which despite being a critical part of the story, is left hidden for data miners.

I don't know what the thought process behind Baby was, she's complete shit as a character. She's a clown who doesn't take advantage of that fact and doesn't she even try to directly kill you despite being touted as the game's central antagonist. Her monotone voice and meaningless cryptic jargon quickly become irritating when the game frequently grinds to a halt just to have her monologue more. The game makes no effort to establish her motivations or personality besides "she wants to escape", and her """tragic""" angle completely falls flat because we don't actually see the extent of her supposed torture beyond a couple of comical zaps. Her entire character is self-fellating nonsense, something that presents the illusion of depth despite being completely shallow and one-dimensional. She doesn't even have a good design, her scale makes literally no sense compared to any of the other robots and she just ends up looking like the fucking bastard child of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

Baby is the worst villain in the entire series, she lacks the over-the-top B-movie charm of Afton, the cosmic horror angle of Golden Freddy, or the silent looming dread of the Puppet. She just sucks. Funtime Freddy should've been the main bad guy, at least he had some sort of personality and a voice that didn't make me want to scrape my own ears out with a fucking spork.

Yeah, I agree. She's the most uninteresting part of the game, and comprises most of it. Ballora or Funtime Freddy would've made for a much better character to focus on, but I suppose you wouldn't be able to play up the "dindu nuffin" angle that Scott has a boner for as much. The sappy angst with Baby and the dead kid is just as bad as FNAF 4's storyline.

Not that guy, but Golden Freddy was clearly off kilter in the first game. He stood apart from the animatronics and while I doubt he was really a Lovecraftian deity, he was still an anomaly and more mysterious than the rest. As a threat, he was more interesting and intimidating than any endgame antagonist.
The fact that looking at him makes you hallucinate words and sounds, or how he crashes your game, makes you feel that there's more to him than meets the eye, until you see that he's a ghost kid in 2, along with the Puppet and the other animatronics.
Scott's attempt to replace him with the Shadows was a failure, and if FNAF 4 was supposed to provide more explanation to the backstory of the ghost, it was a greater failure.

I was expecting Handunit to fill that role, but then he was only ever used for the overused "Eggs Benedict" gag. Baby probably could've worked as a Jason or Michael Meyers type of character, who's bulky, silent, and threatening. In FNAF 1 there was the endoskeleton in the the parts and closet room, and Scott did a teaser for the first game that showed them with their suits and off. And then in the first trailer for 1 you had Bonnie taking off his face to show it.
The endoskletons always sucked and didn't capture what made real world skellies creepy, and yet he continued showing more and more of them. Chica's teeth were the only time they worked, so of course we see inner teeth fucking everywhere.
