My guess? It's because they are worlds with different control schemes (Atlantica, Pride Lands) or weird story progression (Olympus Colosseum uses tournaments) that are the most likely reasons, it seems to be the only thing in common with them.

I never understood why second visit Space Paranoids could be skipped but maybe it wasn't considered that important to the story.

This is a very weird sequence.
It's like they desperately wanted the castle escape sequence, but couldn't break canon, and I guess nobody brought up the idea of Saïx or someone else hunting Roxas down after he's left.
I mean, it might have been cool to have all the remaining members chase you through the different worlds. That'd be a better gauntlet than magic final boss devices for Xion.

Also Xion goes missing for a total of 43 days with very little done about it.
Roxas gets a little butthurt and immediately the entire Castle is out to get him.

Even though it came later, this endgame reminds me of the way χ[chi] wrapped up, in particular Agrabah's ending.
This game feels like the team forgot there was a story until it was time to finish the game. The plot doesn't really move until about Day 255, and after that point time skips eat up the majority of the days left. It feels rushed, and the time skips really fuck with the narrative (like X story event happens and then 30 days of in-universe nothing, then the story picks up as if it just happened).

They probably just shouldn't have used "days."
Unfortunately even the title is married to this concept so we're stuck with it forever.

People usually spend a while contemplating their problems before doing anything about it. The characters act the most realistically in Days because of that. If you're going to complain about something, complain about how Riku was willing to let Xion go despite going against his character or how she psychically tells Riku to stop Roxas from doing what she herself told him to do.

Let me give you a specific example.

On Day 322, Saïx says that the devices will be operational in a couple of days.
Time skip to Day 352, 30 days later, and Roxas is tasked with setting one of the devices.

It took them 30 days to set all of that up? It feels weird, and this isn't the only time something like that happens.
It's an awkward way to speed through a time frame that was too large for the story they had to tell.

The characters still do behave the most realistically, largely due to the circumstances they're presented with. Real people don't go on adventures through ten civilizations without ever sleeping, eating, or relaxing, adamantly and unthinkingly pursuing a single goal except also having ADHD. The real autistic melodrama is in KH2 and BBS, with gems like

I started the playthrough almost a year ago so honestly I don't remember.

Part of it I think was as a refresher of the actual game as opposed to the movie, which cut some of the story out.
Not much really important, though. Some of the cut scenes would have been better than all the clocktower stuff they kept in 1.5, though.

They announced both KH3 and FFXV too early in a panic because of the FFXIV disaster in attempt to appease angry investors.

Honestly I don't think the engine swap itself is bad but the fact that they took part of the dev team that had luminous knowledge definitely hurt. Overall Unreal was the best decision and if you can recall back in 2014/15 Nomura was definitely praising the engine and after the latest trailer I can't help but agree with Square's choice here.

Then there's the part on how they promised the KH team more staff after they reached certain points in development only to say "actually not right now" when the time came. The combination of taking all the luminous-literate devs away then not giving the team more is probably the greatest contributing factor to the slower development.

Ultimately a 4-5 year development cycle isn't bad though.

This new trailer left me with more questions about the plot. Like, in which Toy Story is it based on? I can only assume not the first one because Woody and Buzz get along. Was Andy kidnapped? It seemed like he was judging from the trailer. Does he know that the toys are alive now? Why kidnap toys and possibly Andy? What are those new monsters? The reason Vanitas is important is foreshadowing why he's so fucking strong and was coherent and intelligent the second he spawned. Ven was in a kind of coma for a little bit after Vanitas because he was so much weaker than his darkness.

I feel SO happy that Kingdom Hearts is getting a Toy Story world, but I'm also filled with a mix of disappointment, because I can't ignore the one giant problem. We all didn't need to see a TS world to get us to buy the game. This has got to be, the biggest wasted opportunity in gaming since...EVER.

This could of been, the gaming twist of ALL gaming twists, forget fucking Bioshock 1 twist, forget MGS twists, forget Metroid being a girl twist.

The somefuckinghow, Nomura got PIXAR to let us have worlds in KH twist, a meta twist that only we know that doesn't effect the game at all.

Can you imagine playing KH3 for the first time, the true fans out there, and stumbling upon a fucking TOY STORY world, live, in the moment, not knowing it is coming? Imagine as you're forced into this world, and your mind is racing as you cannot fathom what the FUCK is going on, fighting the heartless in Andy's room and your mind suddenly clicks, still in that moment of pure bliss

"Holy fuck. Pixar doors have opened. What can come next, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Monsters inc... BUGS LIFE?"

but now, this will never happen. The hype of TS will slow down as we wait a year, and your mind as time to realise we're probably getting more Pixar worlds, and Nomura just came out and said pretty much every world will be revealed until release, and most likely others in DLC. Personally I never ran any sleights besides Blizzaga on Proud so I have no clue what's actually good for fights. Trinity Limit only appears in Castle Oblivion and Mega Flare I can't remember when. Just have Jafar and Maleficent in your loadout. Start with Maleficent to drop the penalty she brings and then use Jafar right after, that usually cleans most groups you fight. Also look into how to set up Keyblade combos since that increases your damage output as well.

Ok, so Young Xehanort uses laser swords, Master Xehanort could use laser swords but uses a keyblade, Xemnas who doesn't have a keyblade therefore uses laser swords, right?
