There have been other servers but they've been mostly shit.
The biggest one is warmane, which isn't that terrible if you just want to arena, but has a queue and cash shop. So eventually you'll be arena'ing against glaives.
This one is quite a bit better than anything previous so we'll see what happens. It's in open beta so you can check it out.

Nobody knows. Polls on reddit and the felmyst forum indicate a slight alliance bias, as well as a number of "top guilds" going alliance.
The conventional wisdom in tbc is that horde will have the population advantage and I imagine that will end up accurate. The percentage of people playing on the server that participate in forum polls or reddit nonsense is low, but it's still an interesting result if someone was into gay reddit polls.

Nope, a lot of people here are going alliance but a lot are going horde. I would advise you to not play with /vg/ anyhow but that's up to you.
The important thing to take away is that there will be buttloads of people on both factions and you should have no problem finding a guild.
There are lots of guilds recruiting right now on the felmyst forum and will be a lot more after launch.

If you are deadset on playing with /vg/, it looks like there are at least 2 alliance guilds planned and 1 horde guild planned, but unless you're part of the shitposting crew it's kind of impossible to separate the truth from the memes. I'd hold off on it and just play whatever, but no one asked me.
