Let us ignore the first point on all maps as the attack has the overwhelming advantage in spawn time.

To get the high ground on Hanamura, the attack risks
-getting taken out at the chokepoint stairwell up to the high ground itself
-can still be flanked from 3 directions
-is in the perfect sightlines of 2 sniper spots
However in exchange, the attack get 2 relatively shit flank routes (The uphill battle from the righthand corridor from main choke or the mobility only left flank)

The attack flat out don't get any real high ground on Volkswagen, but in turn have many moderately safe flanks to work with and lots of obstacles/ rooms to hide in

The attack on Ascoobis again get no real high ground advantage in exchange for some safe flank routes and is actually the most balanced map in the game, based on win rates. Whether that is due to cheese or not is up for contention, but something is going right

On Moonbase Alpha, the attack are given high ground advantage and an amazing flank route with no downsides for either of the two routes. Then surprise surprise, it's THE most imbalanced map in the game. worse then Eichenwalde. Fair enough, most maps are slightly towards the defence, however this is mainly lower tier players unable to group up.

When playing Mei vs Tracer or Genji at close range, and you know that Genji's deflect is already used, should you left click or right click? Duo que, one of you pick soldier, the other pick zen. Discord phara first, not mercy, pharah because she isn't mobile like mercy. Kill pharah, then switch to mercy. Pharmacy is a 2 person team combo, you can only beat it with team play.
Don't be discouraged if you fail to kill her a few times. As long as you keep her from shelling the team then you've done your job.
Your ultimate goal isn't to just keep killing her, your ultimate goal against pharmacy is to make life so difficult for the pharah that she switches.
If soldier isn't working, go zen and genji, yes genji.
Jump in her face, most pharah players freak out and shoot aimlessly in panic, just reflect the rockets.

Play Widow.

Aim Mercy. Mercy will outheal your body shots on Pharah. If you body shot a Mercy, you have to land the next half charged shot to kill her off. This can be hard if the Pharah has noticed you.

Best course of action is headshots.

Killing Pharah 1st is ok, it just ends up with Mercy leaving to go heal someone else, or using Res on Pharah. Solo res is keklicious, but it means the Pharah now has invuln for a few seconds to aim you.

A good Pharah will all in you, their power is in the fact every other hitscan has trouble shooting them out with damage drop off. Widow doesn't.

Another tip, change spots once you have killed part or all of Pharmercy. Position in a spot to watch their obvious flight routes.

And dont panic at rockets. They will bump you around, they do damage. Just be calm and dink Pharahs head if shes noticed you.

Pharmercy is only "overpowered" because its a lick a co-ordination, even if its a very basic and loose kind, and most people don't think to even the numbers in dealing with it.
Its like the whole Bastion behind an Orisa/Rein shield, if you're going to have a lone retard trying to deal with it then its not going to work out well aside from maybe the rare instance someones actually good, but if you actually have more than one person working around it trying to actively deal with them problem together then its not going to be nearly as annoying.
But then I remember lower ranks and QP treat playing like a team instead of an arena DM as a disease, so they've got themselves to blame, my condolences to those who actually try to put in the effort though.

It's not hard to fix res, just make it charge slower because at the moment it charges stupidly fast. Mercy shouldn't be able to charge such a powerful res in 40 seconds.

Then make it require LoS, or make it so she can't fly to dead people, or make it so she isn't invulnerable during it, or make res only revive people at 50% instead of full health, or make it so when you get revived all your abilities are locked for 5 seconds or something.

The problem I always had with Mercy was never the res, it was her health regen and GA. Her health shouldn't start regenerating after 1 second, that's fucking stupid. Especially when combined with GA, which lets her fly 20 meters back and forth between teammates on the shortest CD in the game. The combination of these two aspects is actually anti-skill because it means Mercy players don't need any kind of positioning or gamesense, since they don't have to manage their own health and aren't punished for being out of position since they can fly to any teammate in LoS. There's no risk in playing Mercy because of this.

What are you talking about? Playing Mercy is easy as fuck. Sometimes I fill as Mercy and it's like I'm playing an entirely different game, you don't have to do ANYTHING as Mercy. You alternate 2 beams and don't need to shoot the enemy, don't need to even try to dodge them really since you're protected by your team and can fly away if shit gets dire, don't need to think about where healthpacks are because you just regenerate HP, don't need to position because you can fly everywhere including to dead people to res, etc. etc. etc. Mercy is fucking easy to play. And Mercy players usually get tons of upvotes at the end of the game, too, so I don't know where this whole idea that people are ungrateful comes from.

Its very difficult to kill mercy. Almost as difficult as ana with her nade up. Its doable. Just impractical. At higher levels people don't even bother with chasing mercy. They just ult to bait out rez then ult and wipe them again.

It depends on who you're playing, who you're fighting, the enemy team, your team, how many of your team is with you, and how many of the enemy team is with you. And also what map and where on that map.

Generally a good idea is to play custom games and just explore the maps so you know all the chokes, all the paths, all the vantage points and health packs. Everything else can actually just be learned through repeatedly playing the game in QP or something, like raw mechanical skill.

I don't know what Bronzies you're playing with but when my team pushes you have 1 second to kill Mercy with a flank or a hard push before she flies to the nearest tank or behind a DPS and then everyone sees/hears you shooting and you start getting shot at. That guy is right, at high levels most people don't even bother, you just try to murder someone Mercy isn't healing and try to bait her because she's hard to kill. People who say Mercy is easy to kill are clearly Mercy mains.

Her defense is having a busted mobility option that lets her zip around for free on a negligible cooldown while regenerating her health if you aren't continuously shooting her and she gets 1 second of breathing room.

When I was in Gold and even Silver people could hear you shooting Mercy and start shooting at you. Or our Mercy would use one of her Mercy-only help voicelines and everyone would turn to look at what's going on unless they were engaged in a fight themselves.
