Here's my dick, played three games and only lost to a mirror. The one drops, Dire Wolf, Creeper, SHIELDS UP, Muster, and Keeper of Uldaman seem like staples, although maybe I'll play deckhand over Corsair. 7 mana 7/7 destroy his board seems bretty gud and so does Tarim, haven't played them yet. Magic is cheaper since you can buy in to a modern deck for a few hundred and play with for years. In hearthstone you need to spend or grind hundreds on packs and hope you luck in to enough dust to craft wild staples that'll eventually get out powered

Modern has such a diverse meta that you can be competitive for 400+ if you shop frugally. Side boarding and piloting are what you need to worry about if you want to win.

The 50 packs for $50 is plenty to start playing Hearthstone. That's enough for a decent chunk of cards plus enough dust to craft all the common and most of the rare staples you'll need.

Beyond that, I'd recommend pre-ordering every set as they come out if you want to play a wide variety of decks, but as long as you don't mind being locked out of some things depending on your luck with boosters, and you're smart about crafting only what's important, you shouldn't really need to spend anymore money to keep playing.

I've been around since February 2015 and I can say with all assuredness, that it's simple burnout. I experienced it during MSG, and I'm sure tons of other people did too. It's just too much HS, and while I found that a break was just what I needed to fall back in love with the game, a ton of other people didn't even get back to that second chance.

It is what it is. The Great Big /hsg/ Poll had like 300 responses (the most ever) during the post-WoG run, and around 90 (the least ever) during the post-MSG run. I'm curious to see what'll happen with the Un'Goro one that's coming in the upcoming week or so.

Tried that and even at its optimal sucess it still loses to flood decks. Even murloc pally can beat it with enough luck.
It all boils down to the same problem ever since blade flurry got gutted, rogue cannot do value aoes to keep up with thier lack of healing. With conceal gone its worse since your only option for any aoe higher then 2 is gone (doomsayer + conceal)
Which means they can never control.

Meanwhile, almost every class has a zoo deck variant now.

I am. Rarely when I want to complain.

Getting a pack a day with 6 wins if you low roll is pretty fucking great and I might consider buying packs with money if they leave it as it is. Or at least buff the old quest gold by at least 50%.
Currently I don't feel like buying packs when I know that what I can pay won't be enough to make a difference. But if buying was just a way of filling in the missing cards or getting that extra dust for the lego I want, might drop some $ every now and then.
