Think with me anons.

Think that you are a captain, a space pirate captain, with your space proof armor on your chest, a energy cutlass on your belt and a signed contract issued by the Syndicate to steal a research station, bloody or clean.

Imagine you send in a squad of loyal scurvy ridden dogs to storm the station, firing broadside barrages with flak cannons to soften the hull and sending in breach pods to strike in as your boys rush the stations crew with laser resistant hardsuits, combat shotguns and laser cutlasses in hand, as they go and kill all the crew to gain control of it, a series of bloody skirmishes the station cannot handle

Or you can send in your boys with some stealth gear, slowly killing the crew, sabotaging the gears, subverting the AI, weakening resistance before you send in a couple boys to cut the rest of the folks to pieces and make the station a ghost town.

After a job well done, you go and have a drink to celebrate the raid, be it on what's likely to be the hollow hole of the previous to be bar, hack in the machine and have yourself all the rum you can take from em, or just relax back at the ships grog area, as you take a cup from the chest, fill it up from the tanker and yell at your first mate to set sail for deep space to get your well earned cash reward.

This happened once that I saw and I witnessed a single slime devour 20+ constructs. They could do nothing to him once he killed the cultists themselves, the constructs can't use fire extinguishers

Datums are just abstract information - not anything "real" like an object, mob, or turf. Lummox's guide to them explains it like this:

That's just how antag datums would improve antag code and make it easier for people to add new antag types. A whole other story is that currently, gamemodes are more like events than actual gamemodes and if you bus in a malf AI or blob or rev, nothing actually changes about the game - the AI can't delta, the blob won't trigger a law change or win if it grows big enough, and the rev won't lose if the rev heads die/win if the crew heads die.

A long long time ago, before /vg/ split from baystation and baystation from /tg/, there used to be archaic code that was still kicking around from before the metroids were turned into roros, and then into slimes. Metroids would remember the master that fed them and not attack them, eating literally everything else besides them until they were starving. There also was a feature where you could say "attack" and point at something and the metroids would clamp on to it, as well as a simple "follow" command where the metroids would fight over each other to jump on the tile you were on.

This feature was passed onto the slimes. before the major "color" slime update that added all the multiple cores and extended features wiped it.

I still fondly remember playing a mini rts game with my slimes as a traitor xenobiologist on bay before they went to the torch. Even the admins forgot about that feature and had no idea how to handle a player that had control over a mob that everyone thought was nothing more than a gimmicky brainless AI used to harvest food.

Found spess in 2012, was confused, made a new ckey in 2013, became a notorious greytider and eventually chemist powergamer/validhunter once I found out autoinjectors could be refilled.

I was shitposted a lot for my powergaming shit, Jjenjr had a talk with me. I was pretty close to being shitposted out of the community myself but I chilled out a lot and put in an app in 2014 because there were no admins on at night except Jj.

Once I became an admin, I really became one of the only admins to keep up with the forums, Pomf, Rei, Chocolate Moose, and Soca were pretty good about it. The forums were also not fleshed out back then and very disorganized with no Approved or Denied, all appeals in one single forum, yadda yadda.

Once I became headmin, I asked for forums permissions, and I thought about placing all old posts into a single 'legacy' forum, but then I thought that would be dumb because we would lose all our precedents and it would be hard for people to find funny old posts. So I took a little time to organize almost all the old posts into their new respective sub forums I made. Please see the attached picture for this autism, but be wary if you yourself can't handle autism.

After doing this I went completely insane, ripped out my teeth, and only became capable of posting autistic walls of text.

I defend shitters mostly because I was newbie turned shitter myself, and if Jjenjr didn't have a heart to heart with me, I'd have been perma'd too.
