When I went into Septum everyone said the thing that made it shit was all the Nero wank, but I think the thing that made it shit was that 2/3rds of it is fucking meandering pointless filler that did nothing to advance the plot and nothing to advance any characters.

France had very consistent themes to the story, a logical plot where almost every event was significant in some way, surprisingly robust arcs for Jeanne, Mash, Jeanne Alter, Marie, Mozart and Sason, AND meaningful roles in that larger story for pretty much every minor character. In Rome you were lucky if one scene out of every five actually mattered in any way to either the plot OR Nero's half-backed character arc (the only one in the entire story btw, even Mash and PC are basically just bystanders). Add to the fact that the filler was absurd in its quantity on top of being a ridiculous percentage of the scenes, and the whole thing is just a nightmare to get through. Thank god that was the second story, if it was the first after the banal as hell introduction I might have already quit.

Actually I had an account I've been playing for a week but I've been rerolling while waiting for AP.

I think I'm going to go with this new one, though. A week is nothing long term, and the quartz is far less than it would have cost to get the Waver later.

Personally I don't mind hoarding my quarts until a 5star (or even 4 Star) Servant I REALLY want appears. I enjoy unlocking all the shit on every servant, helping each Hero get to their full potential and being rewarded with all their biographical info and shit. Maybe I'll change my tune in 6 months when the incremental rate of income on EXP cards and ascension mats grinds me down, but until then I look forward to maxing out everybody in my collection.

Of course, I'm a long time Fate fan so maybe learning about all the new Servants and lore bits is less appealing to other people.
