PS4 is struggling to get games in Japan. They're really desperate that they needed to end PS3 shipment in Japan, and kill Vita slowly for the PS4 to finally get games. They even paid big bucks for MH:W. If they announce a new handheld now, all those devs will just jump back to the newly announced handheld, making everything moot.

So I have a very healthy vita collection (just over 130 physical NTSC-U games and growing), I love the system quite a bit.
So here's my question- what can I do to help with preservation? There's no active emulation scene for it for me to help with documentation, or bug hunting (RPCS3 may emulate vita down the road, but who knows when or even if).

Would pulling the latest update files for games to archive be a help to the community? There's gotta be something I can contribute...

Do your best to preserve those game carts. If you pull update files and DLCs for your games, back those up using CMA.

Problem is, even to this day the PS Vita isn't completely compromised yet. Or maybe it is, but the scene sure is really quiet about it. Just keep your collections readable and backups handy until then.

I mean the costumes haven't been a deciding factor in my game purchases with the exception of Totori Plus back when it came out, I had a hard time in my life back then and needed to see innocent anime girl in a swimsuit I paid for but it's fun to dress up the characters in different costumes for the post-game, New Game Plus and trophy hunting stuff.
