The Dominion

Aldmeri Dominion is how to the "nothing personnel, kid" races of bosmer and khajit, so there are tons of nightblade ganking faggots. They also have worst faction leader (not even a real elf, she's a miniature dwemer construct with an AI brain from the future) and worst zones.

Ebonheart Pact is the "I Love Skyrim!" faction, so it attracts a ton of people who never played another elder scrolls game. Lots of slack jaw mongoloids that can only bow light attack in a zerg and call themselves mlg pro pvpers. Their faction leader is an incompetent drunk that fucks pigs, and I don't mean his sister.

Daggerfall Covenant is the generic fantasy faction, so they tend to have less players compared to the others, but they have decent coordination in PvP. Their races tend to be best at stamina, so you get a lot of DK and stamsorcs to fuck shit up, with some magicka thrown in. Their faction leader is the most likable of the three, a king that kind of got thrown into it and is just trying his best for his people. Of course, trying his best for his people means committing war atrocities like genocide and subterfuge, but if you aren't playing to win you shouldn't be in the game.

Morrowind has a main story, plus side stories in each area, and side quests scattered about.

On the mainland, there is an overarching story, a faction specific story, then each zone has a story arc. There are also regional stories within the zone, quest hubs with multiple quests, and side quests scattered about.

Just the vanilla game has over 100 hours of content, and Morrowind (if you're thorough) has about 25 - 30 itself.

And this is before dungeons and trials.

If you buy the base game for $15 (down to $10 or less some places) you get all of the vanilla zones. If you go through, do the quest lines, the quest hubs, side quests, dungeons, etc., you can get 80+ hours easily. Unless you really need one immediately, no. There is a small chance they can have a trait or be green quality, but they will give little to no materials upon deconstruction, have no vendor value, and are generally only for gearing yourself very early on.

All classes can do all roles although some better than others. Stamina Templar (which is what would be better for Nord) isn't meta right now. If you want to play Nord I recommend DK or NB, especially if you want to tank. But if you don't really care about doing the hardest of end game content you'll be fine.

Each class has a handful of class skills that can be morphed to use stamina and scale off of weapon damage instead of using magicka and scaling off spell damage. Generally speaking, templar with stamina morphs has the lowest DPS of any class. You will be able to do overland PvE stuff just fine, but you may struggle with later dungeons and endgame content unless you go with a really meta build. Guild lead for PC NA is a stamplar, and I don't know how he manages.

On the flip side, magicka templars have very high DPS and were essentially the only endgame healer class until the last major update. And racial passives don't actually matter for too much (8% dps increase in an extreme circumstance) and can be padded out if you're lacking in a certain area, so you can play whatever class, role, or resource type you like as long as you build your character right.

I get more than I can use from doing daily crafting writs. doing them on a max level character gives about 3.2-4k gold, may drop repair kits, crafting surveys, useless lower level mats, ornate or intricate items and master writs.

It depends on the zone. Some zones have gear that is really good, so you might want to save those ones and burn the rest. Things like spinners gear from malbal tor (a sharpened fire staff that is CP 160 will sell for 200k - 250k at green quality), spriggans daggers in sharpened from bangkorai (basically the stamina equivalent of spinners), etc.

Why do i suck so hard in dungeons with my stabmblade? I can barely pull 7k dps, while i can do about 12-15 with my magplar.

Often if I just whisper that I'm friendly to them they'll leave me alone, I think 9 times out of 10 they're just reacting on instinct to kill anything that moves, not intentionally trying to ruin your shard hunt.

Sometimes they'll even help you, ran in to this EP player in Prefect Antias's house while doing quests and they were nice enough to deal with a DC player that came looking for trouble. And for one of the last skyshards I needed (behind EP gate) I joined some DC players looking for the same shard.

If nothing else try whispering after they kill you, even people that have clearly continued attacking when I'm not fighting back have apologized and been friendly afterwards.

I get instakilled plenty of times too, especially not really wearing much armour, so that's just how it is, but it seems like most players aren't purposefully attacking you because you won't fight back, they just aren't thinking too much.

Yeah, I get killed plenty of times in imperial city when I go in on my crafter for master writs. I have maybe 4 combat skills, so if I get into a fight its almost always a loss. I would seriously recommend getting orsinium. The zone story is fantastic, the zone itself is great for gathering materials (so many harvest nodes), and you get VMA.

As for getting it in 4 days, it took me a month and a half for my first clear. Next clear took 2 days, now I get it done in about 2 hours. I stop and take a break halfway through to stretch my legs, but I could probably get it done in one sitting if I wanted. I honestly don't care about a score, I just want my weapon reward, and my runs aren't good/fast enough for a top 100 score, so I don't bother.

There is always room for improvement. You could probably squeeze 2k - 4k more single target DPS with more CP and a tighter rotation/switching out a few skills. I keep an extra set of gear on me, one for single target boss fights and one for aoe fights, and use dressing room to quickly switch between my gear sets and skill bars.

If you don't have a maelstrom staff, you could probably get another 3k DPS just with that.

Now this is an interesting name to me. Some summarized backround:
Ethanol occurs naturally as a byproduct of the metabolic process of yeast. aka Glucose + yeast = alcohol + carbon dioxide. Ethanol will be present in any yeast habitat. Ethanol can commonly be found in overripe fruit.

Templars are terrible tanks right now. Blazing shield was nerfed. It has only 1 buff that boosts resistances. All classes can outperform templar tanks. NB tanks have large health pool and evasion and group utilities, warden is even better and dk is best as always.

I'm really shit at building characters but really like the mag dk gameplay. I have SB for main bar and destro staff for back bar. The thing is I don't really use the destro staff and don't like it. Yeah, its for tanking and pvp. For tanking, pierce armor morphed into puncture for taunt, but also debuffs the target with both major fracture and major breach, so physical and magic hits them harder. Low slash morphed into heroic slash will slow a target, inflict minor maim to reduce their damage output, and generates ultimate. When I need ult and I have stamina to spare, weaving heroic slash with light attacks will generate ultimate crazy fast. Shield charge can be useful in some dungeons, like bosses that need to be interrupted (second boss in cradle of shadows, first boss in fungal grotto 2, etc.), and this skill will do that and serve as a gap closer, but I only slot it for fights where I know I'll need it.

For your soloing, morph searing strike into venemous claw for a stamina based poison DoT (keep this on the big guys). Morph fiery breath into noxious breath, making it a stamina ability that deals poison damage, nice because its a DoT to all enemies in a cone in front of you, and it inflicts major fracture. You can morph dragon blood into green dragon blood for 20% buff to health and stamina regen, good for getting stam back before/during a burn phase. For twohander, uppercut into wrecking blow, critical charge into critical rush (if you are DPS'ing and need a gap closer with an interrupt), cleave into brawler (damage shield for each enemy hits, you will not die in trash pulls), reverse slash to reverse slice, and momentum into rally (for soloing its a heal over time and major brutality).

You can also try putting a bow on your back bar, volley morphed into endless hail will give you a very powerful AoE to add to your arsenal, and poison morphed into poison injection will give you another poison DoT that is also an execute, which is awesome since it'll proc the execute damage for each tick with one cast cost, making it very stamina efficient. If you get a maelstrom bow, the passive increases the damage of each tick of endless hail, making it one of your top 3 or 4 damage abilities against single target bosses and AoE trash pulls, its that powerful.

You can use mighty leap for your ult, good damage and a damage shield. The bow ultimate morphed into ballista is probably one of the hardest hitting ults that you'll have available as well. Flawless dawnbreaker from fighters guild is also fantastic, hits hard and has a fairly low ult cost, also does extra damage to vampires making it great for pvp. When I play my stamdk solo (primarily my tank) I have wrecking blow / reverse slice / venomous claw / noxious breath / rally on my front bar with flawless dawnbreaker. My back bar is endless hail / poison injection / flex 1 / flex 2 / hardened armor with either ballista, corrosive armor, or mighty leap for my ult. Skills like rearming trap, igneous weapons, reflecting scales, green dragon blood, and flames of oblivion (which hits surprisingly hard and crits far more than I think its supposed to) are all good choices, depending on the enemies that I'll be fighting.

Well, if 2h/bow, you want to keep rally up all the time for major brutality and your heal. So pop rally and hardened armor, then law down endless hail and poison injection as you run in. I don't bother with trap for normal questing. Once those are on, noxious breath to inflict breach on the group, then venomous claw on the big target. After that, wrecking blow for the buff to the next attack, and probably a heavy attack to regain stamina. Switch bars to keep your dots and buffs up, and keep attacking the enemy until they get lower health, then you'll start to use reverse slice for your execute along with poison injection.

I knew that sorc was pretty easy, but I didn't think it'd be this easy. I am barely doing anything, just moving, casting my aoes, surge, and shielding, maybe heavy attacking. No wonder pet sorcs need a nerf.

9k less single target dps. thats more in line with what a fully raid buffed person should be topping out at. i was in a trial and saw a petsorc get 63k single target dps. that is the kind of shit that made them (attempt) to nerf sustain in morrowind.

Jesus, parses like this are part of the reason I imagine I can't get into trials. As I said a couple days ago, I got turned away from a normal MoL because I couldn't do 30k - 32k DPS self buffed against a dummy. I mean, yeah, if you are perfectly geared, then numbers like this are possible, but I wanted to run normal so I could learn the fights and maybe get the blue jewelry that I needed to get so that I could DO better and work my way up to vet. Its quite disconcerting when I say that I am a beginner in trials, have decent starting gear for the normal trial(5 piece divines netches touch gold, purple willpower jewelry, divines illambris medium shoulder/heavy helm in gold, and gold sharpened shock staves), but I still get turned away because I can't compete with people who have run them many times, know the fights, and have the gear from the trials.

If I were to buy the game how should I go about it? Get base then wait for any dlc to see if I enjoy it or get some now while on sale for not that much more?

I just want to play an Orc that only uses 2 hander skills.

I dislike anything magical, unless you're a mage, so I really don't like how the character I have in mind is a flat out combat specialist.

Only get morrowind if you want to go to Vvardenfell, do battlegrounds (a buggy mess at the moment), or play a warden. That is about it. There is a new trial there, but that is a ways away if you are just starting.

If you sub to ESO+, you'll get access to all of the DLC except for morrowind, 1,500 crowns a month (cash shop currency, the same amount you'd get if you bought them), unlimited storage for crafting materials, double bank space/house furnishing space, 10% more xp, etc. If you want to give the game a try, sub for a month, and you can go to the DLC areas unhindered. If you want to keep playing, you can always stay subbed (the crafting bag alone is worth it) then buy the DLC with your complimentary crowns each month. That way, if you ever decide to stop subbing, you'll have access to the DLC areas.
