The only rule in alt raids is that whoever bids the most gold for an item wins it. Whether people want to abide by an "unspoken rule" is up to them. Personally, if I was in an alt raid playing my alt and someone's main needed the same accessory, I'd let them have it because I don't mind waiting to get my alt geared up but it's completely understandable if other people don't do the same since alt raids are designed to be free-for-all in nature

You start by doing the storyline and getting the new starter weapon by either salvaging your pirate weapon or buying it from Grand Harvest Square.
Your focus should be upgrading that and getting the pinnacle jewelry so you can get the gear to farm the 4 legendary 6mans and the easy raid bosses

I'd feel bad quitting before VT since we have so few SFs to help out with the boss 1 mechs, and BnS combat is fun.

I don't know if its the same for anyone else, but for me personally I just wasn't ready yet.
This update is a bit small and seems to be mostly useful for those already prepared for further upgrades-or at least, the new dungeon seems that way anyway. I don't think I have any reason to be in there yet since I'm not even stage 6...at least not farming it or anything. A daily sure but other than that I don't know

I've spent this last week farming Sanctum non-stop and that only just ended last night which then today was spent farming tower for the breakthrough all day. This left me with no time for anything else at all. If you're still trying to catch up then...new dungeon isn't quite as appealing just yet I guess-at least again, that's how it feels for me anyway.
Might try it for a daily sometime this weekend if I have time? But I don't feel a need to rush.
As for the dead feeling, it could be burn-outs and also of course the result of such a uhmm hmm unfortunate patch overall. Nothing was really exciting this time, to put it simply.

And yes, this patch is really lackluster/mostly a step backward. It happens and the state of the thread makes that all the more glaring.

xiv is 1000x better game than bns but honestly it attracts the worst people

if you go on any "catfish reporting" site (for example, /r/catfish) there are literally dozens of posts every week about people catfishing them in ffxiv. if you didnt play the game you would probably think its a dating site based on how much people talk about ingame relationships.

Hi, I'm from Alpha/CBT with a master pack as well. Didn't sell, still here. No its not over "sunken cost" either since I haven't spent very much anyway-nothing outside of whatever it took to get a costume.
Things definitely didn't go the way I hoped they would in terms of how the game was managed but even so I still find it charming enough to stick around. There's no perfect MMO anyway. I've been through enough of them to know that by now.

i was asleep during all of the shitposting so i couldn't clear up a few things i want to now.
i was under the impression that it was an alt raid and alts were allowed to bid. alicia bought up that i was bidding over a main and the rules over that when bidding started and i stopped bidding and said "oh, really?" and then one of the static said no, it's an alt raid. i wasn't aware that it was common practice to pass to mains anyway, so i am sorry.
secondly, i play my summoner as a secondary main, everything i do on my WL every day i do on my summoner.
thirdly, i didn't get it for free, it was 800g which is apparently more than earth earrings generally go for in bnsg.
and finally, i would raid with bnsg plenty more but arv never got back to me about it when i asked on discord so i presumed i wasn't welcome unless it was an alt raid. the past few alt raids had started ~20 minutes before i got out of my main raid so i hadn't gotten to join, but this time i did. i'll be changing a few things soon that mean i'll 100% be available for any alt raids so if you're worried about me taking accessories and fucking off, i won't be.
