Gummy just feels better to play and I mean that. I'm not invested in either server.. Kinda hard to be invested in gummy because it is open beta, that's just my experience though. Less clunky!

I'm actually pretty excited, I like TBC a lot and the 1x from lvl 1 will encourage people to be more invested in their characters. Server is pretty dead atm. Apparently all the outlands content and endgame raids are scripted already?

That was my impression from the low level instances, even up to cath and rfd. A couple days ago I ran ZF. We were 4 manning it, but 3 of us were high 40's so we were above the level of the mobs. It was tough, the event kicked our ass and we lost out on doing sandscalp. And it wasn't because we didn't know what we were doing, this was the same group I had done 4 or 5 lower level instances with. My feeling is that lower level instances were made easier in tbc, I have the feeling that outland dungeons aren't a pushover at all.

Nah they aren't a thing (yet). Ex Night Elf Priest who wanted to be more militant and not get roflstomped like cuck Priests do by the leegun becomes a Paladin though. Also theres a Dreadlord Paladin too, before the leegun corrupted the Nathrezim there were loads of them apparently.

They make it all work lorewise but its still jarring and stupid. Only a matter of time until gnome and undead paladins are a thing.

I'm in 30s and leveling with daggers. Ambush, gouge, backstab, finish off with autos while pulling energy for next mob. Killing mobs of my level in around 10 seconds.

Combat fags that I see leveling around me take 15+ seconds per mob.

I also have faster stealth and can 2 shot anything except a plate wearer.

It is old but I actually had an experience in deadmines very similar to that with someone from MoH. Not even sure if they still play, it was very early after server launch.
I never made an issue of it because at the time the threads were so full of shitposting it wouldn't have mattered anyhow, and naming/shaming always feels really cuntish. Wah, someone was annoying in a dungeon on a private server, pretty shocking.

But they kept on saying kek and calling mobs cucks, like a running commentary, then during the last boss kept asking the healer if he was circumcized. The shitty part for them is I think i was the only one in the group who spoke/read english fast enough, so he never got the attention or reactions he was shooting for.
Human rogue if it matters and like I said, I think he's stopped playing anyhow. I kept thinking he was trying hard to get someone to sperg out so he had a screenshot to shitpost with.

I used to be a GM / Tester on Bloodcraft 3.3.5a, quite possibly the last USA hosted server.
The couple running the show were legally attacked in about every which way Blizz's legal team could come up with even though the server WAS run as a legal 'for educational purposes' non profit project. They went through a half dozen ISP host providers for the server due to Blizzard's leaning on the companies that they were using, and finally were able to stay afloat due to one of the players being a local working for a data process center. Because of him, he was able to have the server hosted and their company gave Blizz the finger. It was a very rare, fortunate situation.
The financial investigations of anyone who was a staff member on that project, including myself, were twice annual. It was a goddamned headache and it required a LOT of dedication.

Gummy's project will not last, because I've been there and I've seen what Blizzard will do to someone on USA native soil running something. He could host the servers in Sweden or France or Germany and it simply would NOT matter. If he lives in the USA, or any of the staff does, Blizz sends the legal team in.

In PvP, druids absolutely dominated the Arena scene back in TBC. Other strong options for WPvP are hunters and warlocks because of The Beast Within and SL/SL. If you're looking to PvP, these ones are probably your best bet while also being great to level.

On a similar note, if you're just worried about getting from level 1 to 70 as fast as possible, you might considering going warlock or paladin, since they get free mounts, which means you travel faster. You don't need to worry about getting a "solo" class, since you will more than likely be in the pack, so others will help you with quest objectives. Hunters, druids, and shamans also have abilities that bolster movement speed, helping you get the leveling process done faster.

At end-game, shamans become the highest priority because of Bloodlust. If you roll a draenei shaman, you suddenly became the dwarf priest of TBC, thanks to Bloodlust AND the +1% hit chance. In Vanilla, paladins deal their damage via auto-attacking, which is extremely tedious, especially for a class that has no movement buffs beyond a 2-point talent that offers +8% movement speed. They are easily kited, but extremely difficult to kill.

A paladin healer is the best single-target healer in the game with insane mana efficiency. If you have a pocket paladin healing you, PvP is a breeze. With enough spell power, a paladin can ATTEMPT the proto-Shockadin spec, the Holydin, but it won't compare to what a Healadin does.

Paladins CAN tank in 5-mans, and are the best at AoE tanking. Against single-target mobs they have difficulty since they don't have a taunt, and while their talents make it seem like they're dependent on being critted to do anything, they're very capable at generating threat thanks to their multiple passive Holy damage abilities, because once-again, a paladin is an auto-attack class. In raids, the need to become uncrittable is too much of a priority, so warriors take the tanking spotlight from then on.

For PvP, a Retadin won't ever deal as much damage as other melee classes, but thanks to their numerous survival abilities they can outlast other martials. Eye for an Eye gives them an edge against casters, to the point where mages can (and do) kill themselves trying to kill a paladin.

In short, paladin is a very safe, boring class, but if you know what you're doing, you can make some great PvP videos.

You're a tanky utility support/healer, best way I can put it. You can tank/dps everything (provided you are prot or ret specced) except raids since prot lacks the big cooldowns that Warriors have and also no taunt. Plus you run out of mana very quickly. Off tanking trash is doable but overall tanking as a Paladin isn't optimal (it's a 10 year old game, who cares right? well some still do, that's just how it is).

DPS is fine until you hit the raids and all the other classes start spiking in power and you're left with sub-optimal tier sets that are designed around healing and really no buttons to push aside from judgement and your autoattack. On top of vanilla having just flat out shit itemization for hybrids and no buttons to push, you run out of mana very very quickly. Be prepared to spend bank on mana pots and consumables to just keep up with under performing dpsers.

In raids you will be asked to keep your buffs up on everyone and cleanse/heal where required. If that doesn't sound good to you then I'd advise against rolling Paladin since you will be doing it 99% of the time.

PVP is a mixed bag. You can have a lot of fun being a strong (arguably the strongest) support/healer in a battleground while dumping a full Reckoning stack on that pesky Rogue who tries to snipe you in the back lines, or you can pray for the stars to align and delete 50% of someones hp with a SoC/white hit crits. Either way your biggest impact is going to be your support kit and the good Paladins learn to use it. Some people get turned off the idea of being a healbot but you are so much more than that.

Overall the allure of the Paladin class (to me) is that you're a huge pain in the ass if played right in PVP and have a needed spot in PVE. The luxuries of the free 60% mount and a cruisy leveling experience are icing on the cake (a lot of people find Pally leveling boring but imo it's very safe and more enjoyable).

The great thing about Paladin leveling is those OH SHIT moments for other classes just don't happen for pallys. If for example you're a Warrior and pull an extra mob, you're usually fucked unless you blow intimidating shout or hammy them up and run away.

I can just switch to conc aura and heal up in their face then go back to swinging. Bubble is there if shit goes south too, and it gets even better once you get SoL (can solo Elites, albeit very slowly).
