I think they'll want to retell the canon story for sure. All of the current storylines probably have small bits of the canon plot in there, so it's just a matter of fleshing those out. Filia looking for her memories and contending with Carol, Cerebella going after Fortune, Lab 8 getting destroyed and Peacock recklessly pursuing the Skullgirl, those all seem like they'll stick. Probably one of the closest storylines to canon is Squigly's, since her arc would probably play out like that no matter what.

Filia's ending seems mostly happy, but something I realized that's made me wary of it, is that I think Carol's had her mind wiped. That's why she calls herself "Painwheel" and has that really generic happy attitude. She's probably been brainwashed by the Skullheart into a person that will make Filia happy for her wish, rather than actually regaining her own humanity. She might not have even been returned to her real parents.

SGDQ starts this weekend. Any runs you plan to watch?

Couple weird things in the schedule this year. Super Metroid is happening on a Friday, and there's no Mario RPG run.
Some poor soul's committing to a MMX6 run for some reason.

At least there's a CT run midweek, and a X2 race which should be good.
No Shovel Knight, but there's some glitchy Shantae and some Freedom Planet.

I'll probably try to watch Hollow Knight to see how much they've already broken it.

GDQ is actually fairly relevant to this thread. Aside from just knowing LZ watches it (duh), you have two major pillars of Indivisible's design featured as staple runs which are always very good reference material.

Also newer games with similar inspirations to Indiv are popping up that could make for some interesting comparisons down the line, which is part of why I'm really interested in the Hollow Knight run.

And of course, runs for some of Indivisible's guest characters are there. This is actually Half-Genie Hero's first time getting featured at a GDQ, which is the game Mariel did a lot of work on before going back to LZ fulltime.

Small aside, MikeZ's also been known to submit pledge shoutouts during runs he likes. Last GDQ he did it for stuff like Cobra Triangle, but it was especially cool when he did it for fellow SGC guy Dolfinh during his Ecco run at SGDQ 2015.

We're a small game for sure though. I don't think that's too bad

This is why Skullgirls 2 needs a revamped single player experience so that even when near dead, you can always come back to it and not have to worry about finging people to play with online. Even have it so that while you're waiting for a match, it will still let you play arcade or treasure mode and let you gain progression toward that new emote or player icon. Also, please let us earn fight money offline, no more of this online only stuff like every other fighting game has. Not all of us can afford 100 Mbps, and some of us even have to share bandwidth with other roommates. Hell, I'd be happy with a stable 1 Mbps that doesn't cut out every 5-10 minutes.

That depends on their financials. Seemingly, if their crowdfunding budget was well managed, they could start turning a profit pretty quick.

As far as average sales for those kinds of games though, if they can match the numbers of Skullgirls, it'll be a success, about on par with Guacamelee. If they do as well as something like Ori it's a big hit, and as well as Hyper Light Drifter would be a massive success.

It used to be bad but in 2E+ it's actually a pretty decent anti-air. Still fairly risky so it's not something to just yolo with.

I've seen Lspin work in some kinda random, situations where the opponent wasn't expecting an anti-air, but I've only dared to use the move in combos myself.

L drill I have seen used a bit more deliberately, but obv not as often as the others.

Why would you say that? Seems like all you really need to know for Squigly are the quarter circles.

Fukua or Peacock would be my pick honestly, since using some of their best tools requires you to get used to holding a button down for a long time while doing other stuff.
That's gotta be harder to do if you're used to hitting most buttons with just your thumb.

I dunno, I think the seria cancel sequences are tough on pad and the orb, lp+mp in particular is awkward. 360's are not the best either but thumbstick makes it bearable.

Guess a lp+mp macro might work specially if you got an airdasher, dunno.

Fukua and Peacock do seem harder though, I agree. Peacock in particular, you can play Fukua rather decently without holding shadows or holding them for a lil bit, Peacock needs shadows (just realized both holds are shadows, huh) to get anywhere near decent and you need to hold them for longer usually.

I think 360's depend on the pad. Some pads I've used they were really easy, especially the ones that put the D-pad on a sort of titling dial, but others it can be tough to register the diagonals.

SG is more lenient than most, but I've gotten used to just doing quick rotations on the analog stick for most games. I tend to have more problems playing games that use half-circles if I have a crappy D-Pad.

Anything that requires three buttons is also hard for me on pad, but two buttons I'm good with most of the time.
So yeah, for most actions SG needs, I can do it whatever pad I use.

Just finished watching the NEC16 vods, man that was fun.

So it wasn't quite the same crowd. Last year's attendance + this year's new attendants would have been a really strong number.
