for PvE by the time the boss/enemy recovers from your 3-4 R1 swings, you need to bail out anyway. putting 40 END so you can swing 6-7 times is ridiculous; you're being greedy and you will get punished.

With 430 Discovery, I got 58% Tempering gems, and 8% of all gems were an off-shape (Waning or Radial). What does this mean? With higher discovery I received more "special" gems, such as Fire/Bolt/Arcane, or Beasthunter, Heavy, etc. At first I was surprised to see the data, but then it hit me: this is probably design, as Arcane characters (who have higher Discovery) need "special" gems more than other builds.

Personal preference, I find HMS and LW extremely good on 25/50 builds but if you want to use other strength weapons it's not worth going into arc for the HMS and LW, you'd be better off going base stats and sticking heavy abyssals/temperings on them

You need to consider the rapport it has with the weapon you're using. Saif closes distance and is fast, a perfect compliment to the slow, long cutter. You lose out on some ar compared to skill but in practice it's barely tangible.

Why STR over SKL? Is the damage gain from the heavy abyssal that much better than just temperings?
50/25 is 303 base damage, 25/50 is 300 base damage. Would the extra STR scaling really increase damage that much?

The problem with chalice dungeons isnt that they require materials, it's that they are just blandly designed: copied/pasted rooms, copied/pasted enemies, weird difficulty (some layers/parts are easy to the point of tedium, others are frustrating as fuck). They were a cool idea in theory but ultimately ended up being kind of lame but then again are better than nothing.
