Syndra's new retconned lore will paint her in a more sympathetic light; perhaps with the Ionian's literally trying to train/brainwash her into a "weapon" that the Ionian government can control. So she turned against them when she found out she was being manipulated l and objectified like a literal tool.

I'm almost certain that Jhin will get the Vayne/Jinx treatment. In that something so horrific happened in his past/childhood that he eventually succumbed to insanity from the trauma of it all. I don't think Kusho's refusal to kill him or the Ionian's cabal's power to free him so that he can do their bidding is coincidental, either.
