I don't think it's an intentional thing, merely just that, any method of adding flight to a given game where it doesn't cost meter or whatever will naturally result in fights progresisng into the air due to getting knocked up into it, since there's more space to get knocked around/to occup in the air vs a single plane of horizontal space on the ground

I think Rashid is the perfect top tier:
- stuff that makes him good require skill and trainingboar so not every scrub picking him up can destroy you
- relatively low damage so you don't feel robbed
- can challenge (abare) his corner pressure to reverse the situation

Did a SSF2T Ken mirror match this morning on fightcade, and the guy just destroyed me. His inputs were so damn precise. I blew so many fights because I couldnt get a super out when I needed to or time a well placed shoryuken.

And I'm playing with a stick I modded a Sanwa stick and Sanwa buttons into so I really have no excuse now.
Guess I'm practicing my Shoryukens, Hadoukens and Supers tonight. I'm still going to fight online first though, because even if I'm a bit of a scrub, its still fun fighting someone that outclasses you. Forces you to think about how to defend and counter and try to read their moves a bit more.

SFV is a fine game to learn the genre with. Read the sticky learn to play patiently and read your opponent

The other games are more technical, and require more precise inputs and more time grinding your combos and set ups. That appeals to a lot of people, but at the end of the day, weather you spend 10 minutes in training mode before a match or hours every week, once you can execute them flawlessly any fighting game is about playing your opponent

SFV is easy to play, and although it was rushed out the door by capcom and it's missing tons of features that it should have had on release, and they constantly delay the new characters they promise all year, the actual gameplay itself is fine. A little slow, but that's not terrible for someone just learning.

SF4 is fun but you're right, it's not played by anyone except for people who have played it for 8 years and aren't ready to move on. It's very likely that any matches you find will frustrate you and you worn't learn a tremendous amount

You are just messing up really badly. Most of the time you are suppose to come out on top since the hurtbox is super exposed in front of the hit box.

A cheap Hitbox style case would probably do well. But even arcade stick cases would do well, but that market is still pretty limited. Hence why people recommend just buying a HRAP or whatever.
