You need to recruit Sonya to get access to the Pocket Castle, it doesn't matter if you choose Alice or Ilias both will give you the item

For recruiting talk until you max affinity then defeat them, you might get a prompt to accept them into your party if you're lucky. Don't worry though, you later on get a ring that boosts recruitment rate plus a story party member who has an attribute that does the same thing
