Does the Baron do any blight/bleed attacks? I'm thinking of using Vestal/PD/Flagellant/MaA for him, but am open to switching PD out for HM if the Baron doesn't have bleed/blight attacks.

Did you remind yourself today?

Is DD2 doable with Arb Occ MaA HWM? Arb will go without the torch in order to stack damage and the MaA will thus guard her against the boss

>>
>>180506725
To be honest, taking the random shit like antidotes and herbs is useless. You're gonna be finding enough random gems and gold to fill up your inventory.

Just take food, shovels, and keys. If you're newer, I'd also take torches.
>>
>>180507798
It's about the Ancestor's younger days and it looks like the beginning of him ruining everything.
>>
>>180507798
Ancestor did more crazy shit in another part of the estate

You gotta go in there and fix it. The story is the same as every other place (Ancestor does something weird/arcane/evil and shits fucked), the unique part is the gameplay of it. Epic dungeons where you're expected to retreat and can come back with progress saved.
>>
>>180507874
NOTE: I'm talking about LOW LEVEL dungeons.

When you're doing higher level dungeons or bosses, the items that can cure poison/bleed and give debuff resistance are good. In low level dungeons you don't need any of that.

Very nice things to change include:

>"passed_turn_stress_dmg": 5.0,

Fuck you, I pass when I want to pass.

>"affliction_critical_success_chance": 0.25,

.50 doesn't seem too bad... coinflip instead of a dice roll...

> "quirks_max_locked_positive": 3,
> "quirks_max_locked_negative": 3

Turning the first to 5 would be nice... turning the second to 0 would be cruel. To the game.

>"provision_hp_heal": 0.05,

Hm. This could stand to be higher, if you really want the old days back.

>"m_MaxForwardSpeed": 400.0,

I'M TRIPPIN' BALLS! RUUUUUUN!

>"max_provisions_before_full": 4,

Speaking of old days... fuck you I'm shoving this food down your throat to heal you. YOU DON'T SAY NO TO ME!

>"new_game_plus_week_limit": 91,
>"new_game_plus_hero_death_limit": 13,
>"new_game_plus_monster_max_hp_modifier": 0.15,

what I did was copy and paste the contents into my darkest dungeon folder on steamapps
do what the readme file said + also run localization.bat on the crimson court folder

I need people to test, I fear about lots of things:
>Do the new barks work?
>Do the accessories show up correctly?
>Does the set bonus work?
>Are the accessories only for her, can she use other accessories not meant for her?
>How are her stats compared to the arbalest's in all difficulties?

I'm afraid other problems might show up, most likely broken PartyName strings

If everything works, all we need to do is switch the images when the real assets arrive and everything will be 100% perfect

>>
>>180513985
Base assets such as skeletons and sounds + art haven't changed with the update, so I'm using the same

The musketeer's new barks are in everyone's files, I'm just adding a directory string thing to make them useable

Only thing I'm really working on is adding the two new lore accessories. The data is already with everyone just like the barks but it's missing the art asset for the icon, only backers have those and I can find them and replace them anytime

Basically all I'm doing is adding the musketeer as a separate class and making two "custom" trinkets that are the musketeer's set. they don't need lots of work since the string they get the stats from is the same as the arbalest's
>>
>>180514476

Begging for help, literally. Baron's mansion, got red key and for some reason bactracked all the way to first locked room, put key inside it and...fucking nothing. I was already mad at that point, since I've ventured to the theretory after that locked red gate, but thought that it would divert somewhere else or fucking something, but it was FUCKING nothing. Now I am left with 2 closed rooms that I can't open, tried supply keys, herbs, shovels you name it, one of which is locked in a curio room and another has a yellow mark on it. Plz send help, or map, or fucking anything.

Wish I'd known this earlier. My leper was stealing everything so I tossed his ass.

Also, how many of an extra class should I keep? I have 3 vestals that I am rotating now to get them all about the same level so that I should always have one available to adventure, and doing the same with two man at arms. My usual second line fighter is a bounty hunter or the aforementioned leper that I tossed, so I have a crusader that I am using, but not too wild about them. Just recruited a hound dude, but I haven't used them yet. Final slot is usually a highwayman or a grave robber, but I have tried a plague doctor but find them a bit lack luser except for spreading DoTs.

Ok, I went full retard. Forgot to loot small box since my inventory was full and it looked like a normal one. Baron tho... Never have I ever received so much shit from anything in DD, maaaaybe first attempt at champion Shambler but that one was much worse. Went Arbalest/Occultist/BH/Hellion, should have picked Flagellant tho instead of BH maybe or Hellion. Was left only with BH and Hellion in the end both on death door, so had to end the quest. I went in blind, but I did not expect to fail that hard, I've played this game enough and didn't have any problems like this before. Altho rng shat on me since in first 2 acts I would uncover Barron first from all eggs. Should have equipped Hellion with breakthrough for more AOE, or just abandon quest and rethink my tactics.

I know that there are trinkets scattered around, that I didn't collect as was destroyed, but I heard that if you miss those in a CC dungeon you would never get them again, is it? Rip hopes and dreams, shit was cool tho.

Yes, anti camping trips have been a thing since they came out. Its probably better though for you to do 3 antis and a class with a camping skill that prevents ambushes. Since if you do get ambushed, your 4 antis won't be able to fight back for shit.
>>
>>180529803
If you equip your gambling heroes with trinkets, they'll lose those first instead of the ones you have stockpiled. So if you give them a shitty common trinket you don't care about there's no harm done if it's lost, but you still stand to gain higher level trinkets if the dice are in your favor.

>>180531125
frontline Occultist is more than viable now, especially if you stack dodge to make him a dodge tank or increase his vs eldritch damage to skullfuck the cosmic horrors

There's plenty of places in the dungeon to stall for full health, and a Vestal with double healing trinkets is more than enough to keep you going mid-combat. It's also worth noting that the Arbalest is the best camp healer in the game, and she happens to be the only hero in his party disease-free.

On the quest select screen? Making the game blur and become impossible to interact with? Some other buttons do that too, but I can't make it happen consistently. Just restarting the game and doing that stuff on the hamlet screen instead should let you bypass the problem.

If I had four of them I'd love to try a quad-Occultist party. Two occultists would tentacle rape the back ranks while two would stun the front ranks. Beyond that you'd just sacrificial stab and wyrd reconstruct your way to victory.

Vestal 2 seems like she's a debuff bot more than anything else, whereas most 2 slots are damage or soak. They're good debuffs, though.

Either nothing or a confirmation window, it appeared to be a fucking supply item like any other heirloom or maybe a trinket, it's not like right clicking a bust causes your character to start smashing themselves in the face with it.

It's a way to force an affliction test fast if you wanted to do that for whatever reason. I'm sure everyone here made a non-cursed hero drink that shit the first chance they got, just to see what would happen. And as far as penalties go it's relatively light, especially considering you'll only make that mistake once.

At least it isn't as punishing as shoveling a Bas-Relief, holy watering a skin rack, or torching some books or Shambler altar.

Because he's unexpected, and most people probably fought him with shitty parties a couple weeks into the game with level 0-1 heroes. I had to retreat the first time I fought him, but on my second attempt I knew what to expect and was able to deal with him relatively easily, even with a sub-optimal party.

None, mods make the game worse and imbalanced. But if you really insist, the community typically agrees that these are okay

- Increase barrack size to 30 so you can have 2 of each class
- Remove religious restriction on Abomination
>>
>>180533432
You're still slowing down the progression of more essential buildings. Every heirloom you spend on disatricts is a heirloom not spend on Guild/Blacksmith, it's basic math.
>>
>>180534746
Pitch Black Dungeon is the best mod available for the game, it makes it significantly harder but also significantly more fair in terms of difficulty curve.
Your skills also get changed a lot to be more fun than just 'melee attack' 'melee attack but better' 'shootbang' 'shootbang bleedmode'
>>
>>180534632
Punish, Suffer, and the two <50% HP skills are superb. Endure is something you just learn and then switch into your kit mid-dungeon if you need stress healing. Reclaim is something you mostly use when you're actively trying to get <50% HP, such as if you're reliant on Redeem to get your allies alive. Rain is a mediocre skill on a character with a lot of broken skills and is generally not worth your one Flagellant per party's time.

Who says you have to get them first? Since your heroes don't gain XP if they regroup at the hamlet, it's entirely possible to completely finish upgrading your blacksmith and guild long before you're doing champion dungeons by finishing the Baron quest.

You don't have to do anything but that's the most optimal choice. Gear/skill upgrades have the most impact on your heroes and as such getting the best gear/skills as early as possible is the best thing uou can do.

>it's entirely possible to completely finish upgrading your blacksmith and guild long before you're doing champion dungeons by finishing the Baron quest.
If you manage to fully upgrade the Guild/Blacksmith before champion, upgrading sanitarium for cheap mass quirk treatment is the next most beneficial thing you can do. Upgrading Abbey depends on how well your teams can destress themselves so that's arguable.

If you somehow manage to fully upgrade the Guild, Blacksmith, Sanitarium and possibly Abbet before champion then go ahead and upgrade districts. Not likely to happen though.

>Maybe rework the item displays when interacting with a curio, indicating the item you need, becauseit's strange how blockages show you what to use, but not the dozens of other random curios you have a hard time remembering what works for each, and not displaying keys for chest, a very straightforwad item to use in the same vein of how shovels are straightforward in clearing a blockade. This isn't really all that important, but it still kinda irks me that you need to wiki hunt to know what to use, but i guess experimentation and once you know, you know, is a thing. That and the risk factor.

taking a bad risk and crying about it when it doesn't pay off is most of the steam reviews, its mostly idiots refusing to prepare and making bad choices

the biggest issue of the game is the time it takes which was reduced in the radiant mode

the game gives you a chance to survive any hit you take at 1 hp for fucks sake, if you are at 2 hp no single attack can kill you unless it leaves a damage over time effect that manages to deal the killing blow when your characters turn starts assuming none of his allies could remove it or heal him for 1 hp

you cant even get a game over outside of hard mode in this game anymore since you can go into dungeons with fewer than 4 heroes now and all your town upgrades are permanent outside of 1 event that can destroy a few of them

if you aren't sure just pirate it and try it yourself
>>

Anyone know how to manually add trinkets to the inventory? Its for research purpose.
>>
>>180536574
I think the Sanguine Vintners is near-universally seen as a good purchase, so I won’t go into this one.

The Cartographer's Camp makes the game easier and increase drop rates on radiant light. Unless you're regularly doing dark or low-light runs, it’s a powerful effect that’s at least worth considering.

The Puppet Theatre seems strong, as a fifteen stress heal every week on each hero is a potent effect that arguably makes the Abbey and Tavern obsolete. I’ll go into this one more on the next post.

Athenaeum seems strong in the cove and courtyard, good in the ruins and warrens, and useless in the weald. It's like the Puppet Theatre in the sense that it makes the Abbey/Tavern less needed, while also having tangible benefits mid-quest. The prospect of this district making books worth interacting with is interesting as well.

The Performance Hall is dirt cheap and worth getting if you're using Jesters frequently. If you aren’t using them, there’s no point in building it.

The Bank seems like a poor choice since it has a rather weak effect, but I could see it being worthwhile if you're taking things slowly or plan to keep playing on that save after you've beaten the game.

The Granary feels like it's in a similar position as the bank is, but in exchange for scaling less well with time it gives you a marginally helpful bonus while questing.

The House of the Yellow Hand, Altar of the Light, Training Ring, and Outsider's Bonfire all have decent effects, but there isn’t that else much I can say about them.

Out of the 11 districts that aren’t decorative, two are bad, four are mediocre, three are situationally powerful, and two are must-buys. The Sanguine Vintners is the most important upgrade to get running early, but it’s also a one-time purchase. I can agree that long-term, the Blacksmith and Guild should be your highest priorities. On the other hand, I think you're really overvaluing the Sanitarium and Abbey, and I’ll explain why.

(cont.)
>>
>>180536574
>>180542702
As you mentioned earlier, upgrading the Abbey isn't necessary if you build teams with stress-healers. If you must insist on paying for stress relief though, the Puppet Theatre and possibly the Athenaeum are better overall purchases. While the Abbey may look better initially due to its low starting prices, the heirloom costs add up rapidly and are generally not worth getting at higher levels.

Unlocking the second column of treatment slots on the entire abbey costs 69 busts and 78 crests in total. Unlocking the third column of treatment slots costs 172 busts and 279 crests. On top of the exorbitant upgrade costs, additional 1500+ gold expenditures are necessary for each treatment. While you can lower the treatment cost by up to 30% with the proper upgrades, this is largely offset by the increase in cost per resolve level. Using the abbey also puts you at risk of 1000+ gold losses and negative quirks, which I presume are a factor important to you due to your high regard of the sanitarium.

The Puppet Theatre only will only ever cost you 200 crests and 1000 gold, and never negatively affects your heroes for making use of its ability. The largest downside to using it as your main means of stress-healing is that it takes longer for individual heroes to recover. This however, is far more consistent than the Abbey’s treatment which can make heroes vanish for weeks on end on spiritual journeys or extended BDSM sessions, even if they’ve already been fully healed.

The Abbey just isn't worthwhile when the Puppet Theatre fulfills its purpose more efficiently, though both are irrelevant when faced with strong stress-healing parties.
>>
>>180542770
>>180536574
>>180542702
The Sanitarium costs 201 busts and 128 crests to fully-upgrade. While it’s a strong luxury late-game, it suffers in the early/mid-game due to high costs. It’s like the Abbey and Tavern in the sense that it allows you to quickly complete specific tasks you could have otherwise done for much cheaper while dungeon crawling for a fee. Locking in positive quirks is extremely expensive, and curing locked negative quirks is only marginally cheaper. The best deal is in curing unlocked negative quirks, but those can be cured just as easily naturally via quirk-cycling, with the added caveat that the hero must have four other negative quirks forcing the replacement. Spending a few thousand gold per quirk treatment simply isn’t financially smart when weapon, armor, and skill upgrades are vastly more important. At base level, the money used to lock in a single positive quirk could have afforded the level two, level three, and level four upgrades for the weapons and armor of a class of your choice.

The better option of quirk management is to rely on the more random, but far cheaper method of curio interactions. Holy water has a 25% chance of purging a negative quirk when used on confession booths in the ruins, and a 100% chance of purging a negative quirk when used on eldritch altars. While sacrificial stones in the warrens have a high chance to inflict high stress, they also have a 25% chance to purge a negative quirk. Burning evil scrolls guarantees a purge, as does using medicinal herbs on coral in the cove. Bas-relief has a 66% chance to give you a positive quirk and a 33% chance to give you a negative one, letting you cycle through undesirable quirks faster. In general, prioritizing quests in the warrens and cove is a pretty good idea for this.

Curing diseases is the Sanitarium’s secondary function. This is even easier to do mid-quest, as long as you brought a Plague Doctor or Graverobber. Even the Flagellant can cure his own diseased body. There’s simply no good reason to spend money on the sanitarium to cure a disease when it can be done for free while camping, other than laziness.

To conclude: while I agree that the Blacksmith and Guild are the most important upgrades long-term due to their importance in game progression, the other hamlet buildings are simply unnecessary and only serve as faster, easier solutions to problems you could solve for a fraction of the cost if you put the effort in. The abbey and tavern can be replaced with solid stress-healers. The sanitarium can be replaced with curios, graverobbers, and plague doctors. The nomad wagon is a convenience, and the survivalist doesn’t even need to be upgraded to improve its effectiveness, only its affordability. On the other hand, most district effects are completely unique and can’t be replaced with anything else in the game. The Sanguine Vintners are an essential early purchase, and the rest (with the possible exceptions of the bank and granary) are solid mid-game purchases.

>IT IS THE WORST FUCKING THING WHEN MY 8 SPEED CHARACTER GOES AFTER A 1 SPEED ARMORED SKELETON
I'm calling bullshit on this.

Everyone rolls D8 and adds the result to their SPD to determine turn order. The worst possible roll for your hero would be 8+1=9 while the best possible roll for the skeleton would be 1+8=9. So even the worst case scenario that has only 1/64 (1.5625%) chance of happening is a tie. I do not know how the game handles ties, but I'm guessing it's either:

1. Both characters reroll. In that case it is virtually impossible for the skeleton to win as his final SPD cannot be higher than that of a hero.

2. There is a 50% chance either of them will act first. In that case the final chance of skeleton acting first is 1.5625% * 0,5 = 0.78125%, in other words 1 in 128.

So this particular scenario is extremaly unlikely at best and virtually impossible at worst.

>EITHER MAKE IT ROLL BETWEEN CHARACTERS WHO HAVE AN EQUAL NUMBER, AND MAKE THE HIGHER SPEED CHARACTERS ALWAYS MOVE BEFORE THE SLOWER ONES
I think a deterministic system would actually hurt the player more. A lot of enemies, especially stress dealers, have 10+ SPD which is very hard to achieve on most heroes. Random rolls give you a chance to act before them sometimes while a deterministic system wouldn't.

The bank is pretty damn strong if you save up a decent gold amount. If you have 250k gold the bank will provide ~14k g per week. 14k gold is more gold you get from dungeon runs and almost as much gold as you get with a medium antiquarian run. Do you even jew bro?

>Sanguine Vintners
Yes, Vintners is good because it offers a steady supply of rather rare and hard to get resource in exchange for easily obtained heirlooms. It's definetly the best district, it even feels a bit mandatory.

>Cartographer's Camp
The game doesn't tell what the exact benefits are, but 300 crests is rather expensive. Expenisve enough to noticeably slow down the progression of other buildings.

>Puppet Theatre
The thing about Puppet Theatre is that you don't really need ALL of your heroes to get a passive stress heal bonus every week. You are already getting that by default.

What usually happens is that you have a few heroes with extremlay high levels of stress while others are fine. Abbey is much better for curing high amounts of stress on invidual heroes.

>Athenaeum
The bonus is alright, but again, 110 deeds way too much.

>Performance Hall
This here is an exception as it's only 40 crests for a significant DMG buff to an already powerful ability. Definetly worth it if you are using Jester Finale a lot.

>Bank
Suffer from the fact that it's essentially a long-term investment that will severly slow down your progression while also barely paying for itself later, if at all.

It's not going to generate a lot of money if you don't have a lot of it to begin with. If you do have a lot of money, you don't need to have much more.

>Granary
Very neglible bonuses for 60 busts.

>House of the Yellow Hand, Altar of the Light, Training Ring, and Outsider's Bonfire
The bonuses are ince, but they are low. Too low for the cost. I could get much more benefit from upgrading Sanitarium and treating quirks.

>I think you're really overvaluing the Sanitarium and Abbey
I don't think fully upgrading Abbey is top priority, I usually get 1-2 of the early cheap upgrades and don't bother until Guild/Balcksmith/Sanitarium are fully upgraded.

>The Sanitarium costs 201 busts and 128 crests to fully-upgrade. While it’s a strong luxury late-game, it suffers in the early/mid-game due to high costs.
The same can be said about districts, but the ability to cure quirks en masse for cheap is much more beneficial that small bonuses districts offer.

Don't get me wrong, Sanitarium has pretty bad benefit/cost ratio, I don't bother until Guild/Blacksmith are high. But it's still a lot better than most districts.

>Locking in positive quirks is extremely expensive, and curing locked negative quirks is only marginally cheaper.
It's not if you upgrade it. That's the whole point.

>The best deal is in curing unlocked negative quirks, but those can be cured just as easily naturally via quirk-cycling, with the added caveat that the hero must have four other negative quirks forcing the replacement.
The problem with this is that you need to send heroes with negative quirks to begin with and can still get fucked by RNG.

Sanitarium allows you to easily lock good quirks and get rid of all negatives or manipulate harmless negative quirks into locking (bad gambler/known cheater for example).

> Spending a few thousand gold per quirk treatment simply isn’t financially smart when weapon, armor, and skill upgrades are vastly more important.
I agree, I'm not suggesting you treat quirks at the expense of gear/skills. It's a better option than districts once that is taken care of however.

>The sanitarium can be replaced with curios, graverobbers, and plague doctors.
You can't replace its reliability and effectivness. It's not very likely to end up with heroes with no negative quirks at all without Sanitarium.

>On the other hand, most district effects are completely unique and can’t be replaced with anything else in the game.
I would say that only about Vintners and the Performance Hall. Everything else is either too negligible for the cost or a long-term investment that doesn't pay off.

Anyways those bonuses are actually pretty good overall.

Pretty meh but helps with making up for those crests you spend on it.

>+1% Crit
Meh, negligible.

>+10 Dodge
This is huge, especially for Houndmaster dodge tanks. Definitely the best part.

>2.5% higher chance of scouting
Pretty small but it's something.

>+5% higher chance of surprising monsters
Looks good on paper but not all that good for parties that stack surprise chance.

The cap of surprise chance i 65%. Base is 10%, +25% at radiant light. The best way to reach the cap is to have Ancestors Lanter or use Hounds Watch/Bandits Sense for another 20% and Tracking for another 10%. This adds up to exactly 65% so that 5% is pretty much lost.

Can be useful for parties that don't stack it or if you want to settle for 60% without Tracking and use those 3 camp points on something else.

> -5% chance of being surprised
Useless if you use Hounds Watch/Bandits Sense/Tracking at camp, but effectively cuts the chance of being surpised in half otherwise since the default is 10%. Pretty good.

Which sounds cooler to you guys? I'm a modder and having trouble deciding on which character fits better for this game

- Blue mage character that can turn into beast enemies if they hit them
- Gypsy style character capable of instakilling enemies (and bosses) if the circumstances are right
- Rabbi that doesn't use their damage stat to determine the effectiveness of their skill, but a random number based on their own resolve level and the targeted enemy

The only one that doesn't sound trash is the blue mage one. That could be pretty cool, though you'd have to rebalance all the enemy skills. The rabbi character is probably fitting in line with the game's mechanics and how random it is in general but it sounds like a class I would never bother with. The game's about mitigating randomness, why would I add more? I'm imagining a class centered around an idea like Wyrd Reconstruction and that just sounds absolutely awful.

It looks a lot more expensive that it actually is. Remember, crests are the heirlooms worth the least amount. 300 crests is equivalent to 100 busts or deeds or 50 portraits. It's still on the high side, but not prohibitively expensive.

>puppet theatre
Only 5 stress per week, as opposed to the 15 stress you'd be getting total after Puppet Theatre. It's a pretty significant difference - a hero at 100 stress would take 20 weeks to get to 0 normally. A theatre drops that down to 7.

>bank
I disagree on this because of the way heroes tend to be upgraded in this game. When you get the next level of your blacksmith or guild, you generally give every applicable hero on your roster those upgrades. While building up to the necessary heirloom amounts for them though, you've been sitting on a pile of gold - saving it for when you buy equipment/skill ups in bulk. What this means in practice is that it's very easy to go from 300k gold to 30k gold in a single week when you're getting your final blacksmith and guild upgrades. That's the situation where the Bank comes in handy.

>other districts
The difference here is that quirk management is on a per-unit basis, and negative quirks pile on over time. These districts are one-time purchases with permanent effects that affect every hero of their specific type on your roster. The buffs they give are on the low side, but due to the nature of how they work I'd still consider them powerful investments. It’s also worth noting that the slight improvements these districts give would help on darkest dungeon missions. I can easily imagine a scenario where a poorly-skilled player party wipes on a DD mission and in the process of training replacement heroes, gets the heirlooms required to build these districts. This is applicable to the Cart. Camp as well, of course.
>>
>>180544259
My issue with the quirk purging aspect of the Sanitarium is that, all treatments considered, you're paying a lot in total heirlooms and gold for temporary fixes on disposable heroes. Negative quirks pile on often enough that combating them via the sanitarium is just too costly to be effective. The hero-specific districts are permanent and will never die due to unfortunate accidents or mistakes. This dynamic does change in NG+/Stygian/Bloodmoon where the well-being of heroes becomes vastly more important, but ultimately that's not going to matter to the majority of players who never have and never will beat the game's hard mode.

As for locking in positive quirks - by the time I'd have finished upgrading my DD teams to completion, the game's close enough to being finished that there isn't much point in doing it. This obviously changes if I plan on playing on the save after I beat the game, but for general purposes the reason you upgrade heroes is so that they stand a chance in the darkest dungeon. If a hero is ready for the darkest dungeon (level 6, 5/5 equipment and maxed-out skills) there's no meaning in locking positive quirks on them, since the soonest chance they'd have to swap out quirks is when the dungeon is over. At that point they've already fulfilled their purpose and won't be useful again, thanks to the never again mechanic.

And finally, on curing quirks with curios. About half of negative quirks are relatively harmless, so I don't mind keeping them around until I get the next chance to cleanse them with scrolls/coral. Frequent expeditions to the warrens or cove make cleansing happen often enough to keep negative quirks under control for the most part. While the sanitarium does do this more reliably, it’s ultimately a convenience and I'd still rather pay 75 gold for a torch or 200 gold for herbs to get a chance at curing the quirk I want gone.

>>180544259
>I would say that only about Vintners and the Performance Hall. Everything else is either too negligible for the cost or a long-term investment that doesn't pay off.
I'll conclude with this, since it's morning now and I've been up all night playing DD and writing these posts and frankly I'm getting too sleepy to think clearly. I probably won't be able to read your reply for a few hours.

The most important use of heirlooms (excluding the vintners for now) are for your initial stagecoach upgrades, your blacksmith upgrades, and your guild upgrades. When you're done spending your heirlooms on these things, you're usually around the mid-game and have a few choices on how to spend the rest you get.
The most important use of gold is to upgrade your heroes to DD-level preparedness via the blacksmith and guild. When you're done spending your gold on these things, the game's practically over and you're ready to take on the final four missions of the game.

Ultimately, your major spending choices came down to how you used whatever heirlooms you get from mid-game until the end-game. The problem here is that everything else in the hamlet reduces the price of whatever that building does. The Abbey and Tavern lowers the cost of stress-healing, the Nomad Wagon lowers the cost of buying trinkets, and the Sanitarium lowers the cost of quirk management/disease curing. At the end of the day though, you won't get value out of these upgrades unless you're spending money at their facilities, which is the opposite of what you're supposed to be doing when you're saving for late-game blacksmith/guild gold purchases. Furthermore, you can do all these things for free during quests.

There wasn't much problem with this way of doing things in vanilla DD, since there wasn't anything else to spend heirlooms on anyway. Now that districts are a thing though, you can use spare heirlooms on other effects - passive bonuses that work over time, and are more worthwhile overall.

It's kinda underwhelming if you ask me. Every miss has a 10% chance to be a hit instead, but you shouldn't miss very often and 10% chance is very low. Sounds like it could be useful for a Leper.

Not much of a point of buffing SPD on Leper/Crusader since their base SPD is extremaly low.

The real jump in difficulty comes from lvl 5 champion dungeons.
>>
>>180558232
>+2 Speed with a 0-8 Speed variance isn't very significant
Not itself but you can say that about almost any bonus. It's all about stacking from multiple sources.

Example: Arbalest has 5 base SPD with lvl 5 gear so it's very unlikely she will act before most stress dealers.

But if you lock Quick Reflex, Quickdraw and give her the Matchmans Stick, she has 13 SPD on first turn and 9 after, enough to reliably act first on 1st turn (and possibly 1-shot crit a damage dealer) and have a pretty good chance of acting first later.

She still can lock a damage quirk like Unerring while Matchman stick also gives her DMG and CRIT.

If you have any infected heroes at all, you could intentionally spread the disease by placing them in hamlet activities with other heroes.

1) It all depends on your needs.Of course, since your general need in this game is to kick ass and hold your salt - Blacksmith and Training Grounds are a priority.

3) With experience and git guding.

I just have him stack bleeds, usually on the enemy rank3 when its viable, then when he hits less than 50% HP i either exsanguinate a foe for insane bleed damage or use his other ability that heals a second party member. The huge debuff from using these abilities does not change his ability to pile on bleed stacks so he is still pretty viable for damage after he uses them.

I prioritize upgrade buildings over stress buildings early on. Eventually you'll want everything though.

I tend to only put someone in therapy if they are over 50% stressed. Don't underestimate how much you can destress through camping skills, crits, and Jester/Houndmaster skills. Often you can save a week in the bar by just putting someone in with the right team with the right skills.

Vestal and Tank is a safe, steady way to play. Nothing wrong with that. Don't underestimate how powerful a team of damage dealers can be though. Something like Arb, BH, Lep, Hell, can tear through mobs before they even get hit. Mild healing support through secondary skills and seal-heals can be plenty if you're killing fast enough.

>vestal
>man at arms

Are there better healer and tank setups?
>>
>>180568230

Man at Arms/Leper/Crusader
Bounty hunter/Hellion/Houndmaster
Grave Robber/Arbalist/Jester
Vestal

Probably one of the easier set ups I've found for the early game. Arbalist has a great mark ability, and BH simply annihilates anything that is marked. I tend to mark enemies that have high prot or bosses on the first round, then go to town. BH is also good at shuffling the enemies around.
>>
>>180568230
The super basic plague/vest/highway/crusader is a powerful group. You can replace the vestal with an occultist if you want.

MaA has amazing synergy with auntie quarian, but the same can be said with anyone with a riposte ability to compliment her "protect me!" skill.

Shag n'Scoob can take up the second slot with a great self-heal and guard-ally ability.

for low light and/or shuffle comps you want weapons upgraded to the max. to take advantage of your speed and crit.
otherwise, armor is better overall.
>>
>>180570993
it has to do with the fact that there is a maximum number of quests you can have each week and the crimson court quest takes up one of those quest slots, leaving one area to not have a quest

if anyone could find the file with the weekly quest limit, I'm sure they could increase the limit manually

Does that mean you get a whopping 9% if the target is under all these effects? Because his other CC trinket gives him +15% DMG vs. Marked/Stunned/Bleeding as well.

If this works like I think it works that means 45% DMG and 9% CRT if the enemy is marked/stunned/bleeding on top of his +90% vs marked or 60% against stunned. Sounds like it could be OP aganist bosses.

He is fairly good against bosses but not all of them. Collect Bounty can only hit ranks 1/2 so he is pretty underwhelming vs. Hag/Prophet and other bosses that are outside first 2 ranks. Arbalest is a better boss killer by herself, together they form the ultimate boss killer duo.

But 45% DMG and 9% crit is huge and it's easy enough to make a boss marked/stunned/bleeding at the same time.

Tips on using the new hero? He seems pretty good so far, I've just been using his 2 bleed attacks and the 2 50% hp skills but that's probably not too good a set atm.

Stress him.

Dont worry about deathblow resist, is better to stack something like book of rage and debuff amulets so he can bleed everything.

At least equip one of his heals cuz they are pretty good.

My go to Flagellant team is arbalest, jester, houndmaster and flagellant

So, say I needed to advance time by a week

Could I just hire a guy, run him into the first room of a dungeon on his own, and then leave and dismiss him?

Contrary to basically every other character in the game you want him at 100 stress

He turns into a blender powered by meth

Yeah but when you surprise them all of your guys get to take their actions before the enemies, regardless of speed. When you get surprised you only get shuffled, otherwise it does normal speed checks.

That's why I don't like bloodlust. 25% DMG isn't worth losing control of the hero.

Better to give them blood while they are passive for a +7 DODGE +3 SPD buff with no downsides.

I think you do in the procedurally generated ones and maybe the first mission as well but for the baron, viscount, and countess missions where your progress is saved its not abandoning and is instead "regrouping" and you bring back whatever is left in your inventory.

dont become attached to any characters
get the first stagecoach network upgrade week 1 (the game pushes you towards this anyways)
upgrade roster to at least 12 early on (think week 5-6) and recruit at least 3 functional teams worth of heroes early on. Try and have 4 teams by week 25
alternate your teams so they have a weeks rest/sanitorium curing if needed
dont be afraid to spend your gold liberally but make sure you arnt stuck without at least 2k gold for supplies for the next mission. That being said dont bother actually upgrading skills/armor/weapons of idle heroes. wait until you need them
upgrade guild and armor/weaponsmith asap
dont bother upgrading the nomads wagon
upgrading stress relieving activities does not pay off much early on. wait until at least week 10 before trying to touch them

At a certain point you just stop learning the character's names. You learn to dehumanize them pretty fast. The only ones whose names i still bother knowing are Dismas and Reynauld, because I haven't gotten the achievement yet. For instance, I have 2 Antiquarians. One of them has Fated. That's how I tell them apart.

>lvl1 plague waifu

>lvl 3 doggerman with camo cloak
all he had to do was dodge and guard, but the madman actually stunned the bird to, for what its worth

got slapped, healed himself, slapped again and healed again
