Nicky Parlouzer was a young little brown hedgehog living in his birthplace, Christmas Island, with his family. One day, a technical researcher from G.U.N, Doctor Ovi Kintobor (also known to some as "Dogman"), came to the island. Nicky and Ovi met, and became good friends. The young hedgehog would help Ovi with his research, and Ovi would help the young hedgehog get stronger and faster.

But one day, a mysterious accident occurred. Nicky Parlouzer and Doctor Ovi Kintobor were gone, and in their place was Sonic the Hedgehog, the blue supersonic hedgehog, and Doctor Ivo ("Eggman") Robotnik, the egg-shaped mad scientist.

Ever since, the two have been caught in a neverending battle, which was always ending in Sonic's favor. Even when Sonic left Christmas Island in search of freedom and adventure, he would always end up clashing with who he dubbed "Eggman".

Eventually, Sonic discovered South Island, and the Green Hills became a favorite treading ground of his. He befriended all the little animals there, and he'd often relax on the shores, listening to rock music while enjoying the view of the sparkling waters.

But then, one day, all the animals mysteriously disappeared. It was none other than Doctor Robotnik who captured them all and trapped them inside his army of Badniks. Not only that, but he was after the 6 Chaos Emeralds that lay in the island's hazy depths. The chaos energy causes South Island to move across the ocean, and it's movements opens up a gateway into the Special Zone where the Emeralds sleep.

In about a day or two, Sonic rescues all the animals, collects all 6 Chaos Emeralds, and defeats the Egg-shaped doctor! In the end, the Chaos Emeralds rose from Sonic's hands, and disappeared in a flash of light. Their power spreading throughout the entire island, restoring it's natural beauty. And Sonic the Hedgehog was off once again, in search of more adventure!

I do have my own thoughts on Sonic and Eggman's origins, sort of piecing things together from different continuities and adding it onto what little we know from the games.

One part of it, I already posted earlier. Nicky Parlouzer meets Ovi Kintobor, stuff happens, and Sonic and Eggman are born. But I'd also want to include stuff with characters like Mighty and that pre-Sonic "Feel the Rabbit" concept. Like, when Eggman or whatever is attacking Christmas Island, there are multiple heroes rising up, but Sonic is THE hero and the one that ultimately saves the day, and stuff. There's also the Band and Madonna, which I'd also want to add to these events at some point, and probably some other stuff that might've slipped my mind.

Solution: make the game about time travel and have them fight Eggman Nega's more advanced and more powerful robots in the future, using some kind of special powerup that gives them extra powers with which to take on those robots. Making Sonic and friends reliant on an external powerup preemptively eliminates any retarded power creep from influencing the main games.
