The only thing Machinist brings that has a leg up on bard (arguably) is dismantle. So our Raid utility is naturally lower accordingly. Which would be fine if our personal DPS is higher. But it's not.

The fact that you have to run a flawless game not to surpass but to COMPETE for last place against people who don't even know how their optimal rotation should go is unacceptable. And I try to not care so much about that lack of performance, but I feel it in every content I do.

Feel it hard in savage when I see myself in last place and that stings hard when I've got an optimal rotation and don't make a single mistake in reference to QR and CD usage. Feel it in dungeons, aoe ability is shit. Nerfed spread shot, super nerfed rook turret, nerfed hypercharge, and flamethrower is a marginally better grenado shot (which was removed) on a 60 second cooldown. Feel it when I'm helping somebody lower level. It's especially worse in the 52 to 60 range. No gauss barrel, no grenado, just a heat mechanic that's worthless but is a dps loss not to engage in and a single nerfed aoe ability. Shit takes forever.

I like what they've done with the class but as things go it's not really fun to play it for some reason, despite how engaging I find it.

FT is actually worse than grenado shot. With Grendado shot you still had your auto attack, with FT your auto attack is turned off. That makes it a horrendous ability by itself.

You'll be 50 before you unlock the town, there are quite a lot of quests once you get to 50 before it opens. It's a fair amount of hours, couple days worth at least.

Two nerfs that's not just an outright change to mechanic for healing output. Eos and Selene got a 50 potency loss and individual Aetherflows are weak.
And it's not an argument. Healers aren't dps. You get the privilege of DPSing the better you are at doing your job. You get the ability to DPS more often than the other healers on the fact alone that you can micro extreme throughput and contribute to massive shields using a 60% bonus to healing and a new 20% increase on a 90 second cooldown that you can use in sequence. Eos can be used to lengthen the time you get between healing cycles, and the change of cleric stance means you can quite literally weave between your spells.

SCH for years have been saying how they required the most skills and yet never used half of the tools they had available to them. Now you're balanced around having to use them and you can't keep up and you bitch that it's your class. The only thing that's valid is how fucking silly WHM are now

Bloodbath was never super strong outside of dungeons though. It didn't really mitigate enough to make a huge change.

I'd just stack on crit + directs. Because DPS > Mechanics > Health. Although if these upcoming raids absolutely demand high HP numbers then, yeah go Tenancy.

Also wait until the weight stats come out, maybe full Direct might get you more dps than full Crit, who knows.

People are pretty quick to jump to assumptions, to be fair. 3.0 saw BRDs and MCH shunned because of Bismarck EX, but it didn't take a balance patch for BRD to stand proud. Dissipation requires you to be doing badly in order to get the most use out of it, which wouldn't be a problem if the job didn't get most of its skills nerfed/removed. So i got about 200k xp total, mob xp included, from a 3 fate chain the peaks at 61, mostly solo, one guy showed uo for second half of the first, second one all solo, and then a guy showed up halfway through the boss and then ran away a bit when he almost died

There are so many things you can do with this spell now that fairy potency was nerfed, Largesse is given, and excog exists. The only downside of dissipation is it marries your swiftcast to summon for a minute and a half. Which ordinarily isn't a problem if everybody in your raid will 100% never die ever AND the fact that fairy gauge needs fairy. If you could charge that while the fairy was blown into aether it'd be useful in every situation and especially useful in emergency heal situations where you need to provide raid wide aoe heals since the WHM or AST died while also keeping the MT up.

Normie casual here maining a 70 PLD, I can't get into the habit of using rotations, so far i've been practicing Goring blade into Requeiscat into Holy spirit, but a lot of my party members are giving me flak for not using RA? Which I don't understand at all considering Goring blade + buffed Holy Spirit gives you a lot more DPS output than spamming RA combo. Also I can't for the life of me keep track of party members for Cover/Intervention/Clemency etc etc etc. I've done 2.X and 3.X endgame content so just using GB/RA has worked out for me so far, just want some tips on how to make myself better and crunch out the mad Deeps

Only use GB to refresh its DoT effect. Otherwise use RA since it has over 100 more potency. Simple stuff, anon. Don't constantly spam DoTs, wait until they have a couple seconds left before refreshing them.
The other skills are honestly unnecessary as long as your party is competent. I guess use Cover if you see a melee DPS standing in an AoE but don't move out of position to try and grab a healer or something.
Intervention might just save someone but it only really makes a difference if you have Rampart or Sentinel up.

Just going back from last expansion to this one almost every single primal and raid encounter has an add following their throw to vulnerability. And the ones that have and allow aoe are such a massive dps loss that even touching the hyperload button should have you removed from your group and your game uninstalled

Basically I open with Shield lob > FB > RB > FoF > GB > Req. > Holy spirit until MP runs out. At least thats the rotation i was looking at. Refresh GB when its out and RoH/RA depending on whether i need aggro or not. I'm guessing you use intervention for tank busters, not experienced in the raids or trials enough to know when to pop it but i guess that'll come to me overtime. Also is it worth it to stance dance? I've never done it on PLD but people are saying it increases you DPS during the MP phase by a lot, I'mn just worried about losing aggro or taking a big hit and not having Shield oath on.
