So this is what you do.

You go online and then in ranked, don't worry you got this.
And now pick a character named Eddy.
In a fight just press whatever buttons, though do try focusing a bit more on the kick buttons.
Just do this until you are a Brawler, shouldn't take to long. This will set all the other characters you own on higher ranks automatically so that you don't have to deal with to much bullshit later on.

Afterwards get out of Online and go into practice mode, pick any character you think looks cool and learn their entire moveset and afterwards watch some of the many tutrial videos about that one character, you will find plenty everywhere. Training will take time so keep that in mind.

Now go out there and kick ass.

Asuka, her f2 is really fast and reaches insanely far which converts into a full combo that also has a nice amount of wall carry if you do the proper combo. She's mainly defensive and definitely has a good amount of CH moves, her biggest problem is being bad at punishing on block having one of if not the worst i10 punish in the game and others are weak until you get into the launch punishable range

The simple way is getting hit by it. Then you know what it looks like and you can avoid it the next time by blocking it later in the round.
