Actually BLM does more damage than RDM according to various sources. That's fine if you ask me. RDM pays the utility tax of having extremely potent heals and an instant cast revive. MCH being weaker than BRD is a problem though. Given that it's by a rather large amount putting MCH at the bottom with little raid utility and shit personal DPS despite high effort required to play. Fun aside, they may not be the best for Raids.
On top of that WAR also got gimped, and completely reworked. WARs are now a completely new class and people shit on them for the same reasons.
Admittingly, the calculations were done pre early access, the numbers stayed the same from the media tour but some tooltips were vague, so idk if they are still really bad.

PLD has superior damage, mitigation and utility.

That's not true, since BotD is on a 30 second cooldown and you should never, ever let it drop during combat, you can keep your dragon gauge through at least 10-15 seconds without combat by just re-using the skill before BotD drops.

No, because that would still give you a subpar sustain as you would literally lose 400 potency in the time it would take you to reapply your barrel. Unless they massively buff overheating into insane levels of 30% plus it would still be terrible to choose it for every wildfire as opposed to every other wildfire. Not to mention buffing overheating too much would completely make the heat mechanic irrelevant since you wouldn't suffer that much of a drawback from not managing your resource well.

On Wildfire: Focusing that much on wildfire just isn't going to work now anyways because it's only every going to, at max, hit a potency of near 600 but generally average a little above 550. With all the problems that it had before but amplified because you now have to use it as many times as possible to even COMPETE let alone burst.

If Wildfire itself was buffed to 30 or 35%, Gauss barrel didn't remove 400-600 of your potency over the time it was off and below 50% heat (assuming BS and FT are on cooldown) and heated damage was higher, than it'd be better. But it's not. So it isn't. The sustain is ass, the burst is non existent, and you're punished harder than ARR DRGs for dropping any part of your rotation. And god forbid you overheat without a CDD up.

My logic before now was: "if you play perfect none of this is a problem" but savage produces situations in which you might have to clip a weave/double weave, or swap targets and hold off on your WF, thus throwing your rotation into shit because bullets have to be used to sustain. And mistakes will happen no matter how much you practice. And even if you do everything flawlessly your damage will still be less than the better version of your job.

So MCH, while mechanically interesting and fun, is not fun if you give even a slight amount of concern to wanting to contribute better to your team. And where that fails, it is less fulfilling than pulling off a Max potency double gauss wildfire.

I should also add that, as a player. It feels bad to enter a group of equally skilled and geared players and know you're going to be the bottom of the barrel. More of a "man up" thing but when you know you're the reason a 1% wipe happened it's not the best feeling in the world. Also, kind of off topic but, I also forgot to mention that since Bishop has been nerfed to shit hypercharging it feels terrible and in most situations will have to be done anyways because it's 5% damage increase and still, despite how fucking ass it is at aoe, is an aoe attack. Bishop nerfed seemed to be to pave the way for flamethrower but since that's super ass as well it just feels terrible to aoe in general.

why does it suck? as far as "punishment" goes dropping BotD isn't even a thing any more with lance mastery and the 30 second cooldown, it should never happen beyond specific mechanics where you need to get off the boss or when the boss is invunerable, and because of the short cooldown you can easily overcome most of those situations by rebuffing right before BotD drops, which keeps your dragon gauge stacks, 4 of which let you shoot out some glorious Nastronds that should time up with Blood for Blood

So I leveled SAM to 70 first because fuck you, SAM was my main in FFXI and you can suck it.

Once I hit 70 and got geared up, I went back to my old mainstay, Scholar. Now, I heard some distressing things about Scholar. But surely, I thought, it can't be THAT bad.

Oh my. How wrong I was. It's not even a shadow of it's former self. It's just a wraith. Haunting the healer queues until everyone gets to 70 and drops it like a bad habit.

There has never been a healer in a worst spot than scholar is right now. I've played continuously through nearly every single patch (not T10-13), and I've never seen it this wrecked before. Not even AST, despite their reputation in the beginning, was so unanimously regarded as shit.
