Sonic Battle was awesome.
I remember spotting it at random in a game shop first time I bought it. Couldn't have been out that long, yet I had no prior knowledge of it, especially as back then there was no internet, only game magazines.
I was blown away how the gba could make 3D graphics, even if a bit low-res. Also loved the little voice actor snippets throughout.

Good news, bad news time!

The good news is that I finally heard back from Rafa Knight. I'm in active discussion with them regarding the model commission.

The bad news is that the cost sheet I'd come across was outdated. For an image-quality model, the price is $100-120. For a game/animation model, the price is $130-150. Therefore, if it was only me contributing funds, I'd only be able to buy one model.

What I need now is some guidance so we get what we need for the price we need. I asked for clarification, and the game/animation model would include more detail for flexing/rigging/bones. If you have any suggestions as to what all I should ask for, fire away.

First of all, this is fucking great news! This is therefore now a dance thread.

What was the price on the outdated sheet? Wasn't it like $160? I don't know why that number comes to mind when thinking about this thing. Also, on that sheet the lower cost model was a low poly model or something like that. "Image quality" doesn't sound bad or low poly, but the one that best suits our need is a "game/animation" one and if we're already forking over $100 for the other one, we might as well go all the way and have a model we can count on for the all the future.

Bump's model is the most important, and if that's the one we can get for the moment, it's probably okay. Have you asked her if she could do two models, though? Maybe she can only accept a commission for one.

In any case, honestly, our mascots are one of the few things that I still enjoy about this place, and I really like them, so depending on who's handling this and how, I would contribute money.

As far as 'needs' go - a T-pose can work fine, I know how to rig and pose the models (assuming Rafa doesn't sell rigged models) so I can set the thing up for posed prints quite easily.
