As far as I can tell, Humans are still the most useful. Elves can't use lance which is a pain, and they don't have the str to do close combat effectively, which leaves them magic, puppetry, and range, which is also a problem with lag.

Giants get the strength and are the best lancers, but its really whatever you want.

I'm solely a fan of elves because it's just how I am. Giants look weird. I give them caveman names if I make them. Like Nugnug or Wugwa or something.
All in all, play how you want.
I still am effective with a human that screws around. New skill added - Dance of Death. Fun times.

Played it for a few days. Feels like really oldschool Ragnarok. So if you're into that then you might like it.
Quests sucks since it's the generic kill and hunt quests but the dialogue is pretty nice. One you finish a quest the NPC goes to your hideout so you can collect waifus and they give bonuses.
Also p2w. Costumes pretty much doubles your HP/MP and damage. Then they limit the character slots since making multiple characters gives bonuses.
Overall I give it a 6/10. It wasn't that fun after a week but for the first few days it was okay.

Unlike EE, you can't freely change classes, but you get to pick a 2nd weapon later on. So basically, you get two classes. The skills look better (since it's newer), and back attacks do more damage so at least you can move around instead of standing in one place. Plus the fishing is nice.

Guardian/Sefirot is a pretty strong class who deal decent damage on top of being tanky. Their subclass, Psykicker, is very strong too.

You only play as Engineer until level 50 which honestly takes less than an hour to reach. After advancing you switch to Meister who uses rideable mechs called MG that have a new set of skills that they use for the rest of the jobs. Don't bother sticking with Meister/Swordian unless you really like the class since from my own experiences with it the class is just very weak. Their subclass, Star Seeker, is pretty fun but they have an incredibly slow start since most of their core skills aren't available until very high levels.

Pop Star is one of the few support classes in the game and apparently the patch the new server is going to start on is going to massively buff their damage. I heard their subclass, Maestro, is pretty powerful too although Maestro is more of an offensive mage than a support.

Heroes - Go multiclient instead if you don't want to buy it. That's why I said it's 'pay for convenience' since you won't need to multiclient.
Boosters - All it gives is faster exp gain and an extra loot roll. So your point about '0.01% drop to 10%' is just wrong. A 50% drop rate with a booster doesn't make it into a 100% drop rate.
