it's not about fun, it's about time. a game experience is expected to respect the player's time to an extent. when a creature is gutted and skinned in a game, or when a player is placed in jail for being a shitty thief, a short animation is played, not a long unskippable cutscene detailing the whole process. just because a player doesn't want to choose actions for a character who should not be able to act does not mean that this player also wishes to sit through the whole ordeal.
some players simply wish for aau's h-ai to add a bit of immersion to their game, not prevent them from playing it for possibly 10 minutes without warning. the poor fucks don't even know if they'll have enough to make themselves a sandwich since for all they know the scene could be over in 20 seconds.
