TT2 anon makes me want to start a commentary of my own. I'm going to do Sengoku Rance, since I haven't played it in a while. This is a new install, so we'll be doing the true route. I might ask for the thread's input on some decisions, but I reserve the right to overrule them at will. Don't tell me to kill Kenshin or something, okay? Rance is kichiku fighter. We go on his adventures or some engrish I've forgotten. Wasn't that in a kichikuou art book?

Besides that, the story is pretty good. Twist was well done: I had not been expecting anything supernatural. It could have benefited from some more background construction, it is a little sprung on you.

The girl as motivation post-toushin is weak. Without a clear path to freedom you are forced to de facto cede your agency.

There's only one major one on July 1st when the announcements will be announced. IIRC, it's 9:30-11:30 PST. Exact time is on the schedule of Anime Expo. The length is due to it also being a Q&A for the guests even though the 2 important ones have their own sessions (Itaru and the Moonstone artist).

I'm not expecting an Alicesoft announcement unless they are selling Rance hardcopies at AX. Then it's a bit more likely. Amusingly though, they had a lifesize Haruka doll last AX, but they didn't announce anything Alicesoft for the year until Otakon.

Haruka was announced at AX, so Ixseal being announced at AX would be fitting in a way. I would certainly buy multiple copies if Alicesoft was insane enough to do a near-simultaneous release of Ixseal.

It's stupidly unlikely, but Rance VI did sell stupidly well, so who knows? The main reason I severely doubt it is because MG doesn't like charging over $45 with $50 being the absolute maximum, and the download version of Ixseal in Japan will be 6800 Yen or about $65. I would imagine outrage among the Nips if the release gap was only a few months, or English speakers complaining about the abnormally high price.

Nukige part is pretty good, gameplay is serviceable. Not bad enough to hamper your experience, but not good enough to play it for the gameplay factor. Having to lose to get some H-scenes is annoying, but there's still plenty of them even if you don't go out of your way. It's weird how the game is balanced on the basis of you only mostly using and training one heroine your whole playthrough though.

The love routes have a cliched tokusatsu/magical girl style plot. Amusing but nothing too memorable. Unfortunately, the Haruka/Narika/Harem routes all have the same plot with only Subaru being different as far as good routes go. The Haruka and Narika routes also both have a regular and a True ending, but that only changes the epilogue slightly. Same for the Harem ending.

The kichiku routes have more fun writing because of the goody-two-shoes main character suddenly becoming an asshole, and all 4 of the endings ending up significantly different from each other.

Oh, and lastly Narika is best girl by a mile. It's probably not worth $35 exactly, but it was enjoyable enough.

I haven't bothered with IM series as well. But what I find interesting about the whole lore is how the humans just went along with everything after the war when the two worlds merged.

I mean I guess we don't know exactly how it happened but since the ancient gods were defeated they were basically forced to throw away their whole advanced culture and seal away technologies for survival (Even though they did get magic and stuff in return)

I wonder if Humans had qualms about becoming like battery sources for these new gods at first. Sure they received tons of benefits as well and we see how strongly integrated they are right now but still.

Again, no idea about IM but the only title I know where it kinda gets brought up is in Madou where Melkia is basically the only country that is trying to retrieve their former human glory and the Emperor wants to bring down the gods with Arufarakara. But sadly it got to his head and had to be put down so it didn't quite work out in the end.

I've only played Kamidori Alchemy Meister but, at least in Mikelty, the concepts of advanced technology are lost to the ages anyway, so it's not that relevant. Yes they aren't relevant in Kamidori. The ancient, 'prehistoric' technology and culture(先史文明期) which didn't use any sort of magic but science is lost forever. The gods sealed away or made the humans seal away resources and the knowledge needed to develop these technologies. They were dangerous as hell(For them) so its no wonder.

In Madou we find out that from salvaging its remains it was possible to develop a new similar technology which is trying to replicate the old one. But since a lot of the knowledge was lost and resources are no more now it partly uses magic instead(Magitech)
For stuff like flying boats for example it uses a magically refined core that acts as a motor/driving force instead of fuel etc. But sadly its but an imitation of the old stuff and not as powerful but still a tremendous force to be reckoned with even in this world full of magic, plus it keeps developing rapidly.

Those angels btw are pretty divided folk as far as I found out. Most of them now serve different gods of this world since their master one of the ancient gods is dead. Some of them also act alone so their outlook on humanity differs vastly, or so it seems.
