Read the General problems FAQ before asking questions. If you still need help, post your specs (Speccy screenshot), operating system, emulator version number and details of what's wrong.

Please contribute to the wiki if you discover any inaccuracies or have relevant information to append.

READ THE WIKI BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS LIKE:
>Where do I get games
OR
>What is the best emulator for...

Check out the wiki for the emulator you're using if you run into trouble, there may be a solution there too, often including recommendations for optimal game settings.

Remember to submit bug reports or shit won't get fixed.

DS emulation with a mouse is great, I could play this all day. Here's hoping Medusa ends up supporting high res without needing a high end PC, Desmume's kicking my ass.
>>
>>180072413
Redbook audio doesn't have metadata, does it? It's just WMP trying to match it, right?
>>
>>180074176
Yeah just WMP trying to match it but it's surprisingly good at doing it with a few exceptions., even works with other CD console apparently. (tried Air Combat, Tobal, Bastugun, Panzer Dragoon, DOOM and they all got properly detected, even Xi sai the JP version of Devil Dice is detected correctly)

The correct answer is bgb.

Go into the options, joypad tab, and configure the controls. Then check 'configure extra buttons' and set the fast forward to whatever you want. Press skip for ones you don't care about changing. Then go into the misc tab and set 'Undelayed speed' to the multiplier you want fast forward to run at(defaults to 10x).

>Pokemon emulates fine if you have the specs.
What sort of specs are we talking here? The 3DS isn't exactly a powerful machine, I don't see how emulating it could be taxing on any sort of computer made in the past 5 years.
>>
>>180100010
Most emulator devs don't default to a natural zeromus-style self sabotage state when enough stupid "tech support" questions come. Weird, I know.
>>
>>180130668
Emulating things isn't as easy as dumping a game and adding .exe to the end of it. It takes a lot of fine tuning to get it to run right.
>>
>>180130668
Saturn isn't a powerful machine either, but this don't stop precise emulation of the system being a performance whore. 3.5 GHz for Omega Red/Alpha Sapphire is enough for 100% speed on most cases, Sun/Moon has real problems with more geometry being rendered at the same time, so I would not care for "good specs" so soon.

Does retro arch not write out saves with the bsnes core until you close the application properly? The reason I ask is because I had Final Fantasy VI Brave New World open all day long, I would play it then just alt tab out and shitpost on 4chan or whatever and come back to it. Then I had a power outage. Even though I was saving in game, when I loaded it back up it didn't have my progress. Only thing I can think of is that retro arch stores it all in memory until you close out then writes it to disk. Is there some option that I am missing that will update the actual save files for the ROM periodically?

RA will not save if it doesnt close correctly

in RA under saving is the Save Ram interval

change this to the lowest you can, I set mine to 1 second in notepad, which means ever second, it keeps the save

>>
>>180133036
nah it's not retarded, it's kinda dumb that it's in RA anyways

something about some very select games save every frame and it lowers performance or something
>>
>>180132952
>>180133131
The N64 Mystery Dungeon game saves every time you move I think, that's the game that always gets brought up as an example. Anyway I'd set it to a more reasonable value, writing to disk every second is unnecessary.
>>
>>180132952
You don't have to edit the config file to set it to 1 second anymore

>>180133131
The only thing dumb about it is that it's not enabled by default. It would be better with a 30 or 60 second interval as a default but they don't want it on by default at all.
>>
>>180133390
The only reason why I personally set it to every second is because I play using bluetooth as audio

When (on xaudio I believe) my bluetooth earphones would disconnect, RA would crash every time and I could replicate it easily

I'm not sure if this is fixed since I submitted the ticket but I lost progress in super metroid like 3 times before I figured it out

Why can't RetroArch run Sega 32X games?

I have the latest Genesus Plus GX core. I don't have a 32X bios, but the wiki says I don't need one. Also the roms have .md as their file suffix. When I try to load a rom there's no error message or anything, but it just gives a black screen with no sound. Please advise.

Gen Plus GX doesn't do 32X because it's Wii based. The other gen core does it though.

Where can I get a x360 controller "emulator" so I can use this generic dualshock controller and be recognized as a 360 one? ds4windows only works for official controllers, scptoolkit is abandoned and you can't add your own controllers to it for some fucking reason and x360ce makes the sticks behave retardely either being 100% to one side or 0%

Hello /emugen/,
first time poster up in here. Can we talk about frontends for a bit?

I wanted to set up EmulationStation for my collection and I was successful with it.

Problem is, my collection is way too big and performance shit the bed hard. It keeps running on shut down forever because it rewrites all the xml-files to keep stats like 'times played', and 'last played' up to date.

What the hell? I don't even give a shit about that! They fixed that with a switch in the retropie release but I'm on Windows 7 here and that version is from like 2015 or something.

It also just sits at about 25-30 % CPU load while looking at the GUI itself idling. Everything is fine while while playing games though.

Yeah, anyway... I'm in need of another, better frontend because I like the concept. Again, I'm Windows 7 and my collection is LARGE.

Any ideas? Launchbox maybe? Bit of a shame really, EmulationStation is so simple and clean looking.

Wtf, God of War 2 is that CPU intensive on PCSX2? my Core i5 4460 3.2Ghz(that has a STR of 2019, that is pretty good from the base score of 1946) is lagging HARD on it on software mode, and because my 'gpu' is a Intel HD 4600 at the moment, on Hardware mode still runs terrible because of the gpu, and i'm forced to use Agressive CRC Hack and still has some slowdowns.
What i'm doing wrong?

Why does Desmume stutter so fucking badly? I'm not talking about drops in FPS but literal stuttering, dropped frames up the ass. Vsync does nothing.

It doesn't happen on Retroarch, but the audio for the Dragon Quest games are fucking broken on that.
>>
>>180235734
what are your PC spec.
>>
>>180236134
Core i7 6700k, GTX 970.

Like I said I'm not dropping from 60 fps. I can run this shit on 500fps if I want. The issue is with all the stuttering I'm getting. It's hard to explain, but it's like frameskipping, the scrolling is just not smooth at all.

If I disable multicore and run Desmume in only one core it helps quite a bit but it still stutters.
>>
>>180236274
Desmume has no audio/video sync like Retroarch does. It only has Vsync which prevents tearing. It's shit and you'll always get jittering/stuttering.
>>
>>180236274

>>
>>180236961
Tried out and DQ4 sucks in both.

Oh well.

I did find an old ass build of the Desmume core that doesn't have sounds issues on Retroarch, but it doesn't have high-res, not even a screen divider option.

Too bad SquarePusher doesn't give a single fuck.
>>
>>180237826

For late 90s/early 00s arcade games, is it better to emulate the console ports for Dreamcast, or use MAME?
>>
>>180270451
What's so bad about Go?
>>
>>180272327
Depends on the hardware the game was on.
>>
>>180272728
Did most Capcom 2D fighters (JoJo, Marvel, Third Strike, etc.) use the same hardware?
>>
>>180259557
yeah - https://github.com/disks86/VK9
>>
>>180272939
Jojo and Third Strike ran on CPS3 (better in MAME/FBA)
Marvel vs Capcom 1 ran on CPS2 (doesn't really matter but MAME/FBA perform better)
Marvel vs Capcom 2 ran on Naomi (better on whatever DC emu you use)
>>
>>180273254
Would a good rule of thumb be to just emulate anything Naomi on Dreamcast?
>>
>>180273413
Yes, the Naomi uses Dreamcast hardware so the ports should be 99.9% on the spot.

I want to emulate some F-Zero GX

I tried that like two years ago but it lagged on the 50 FPS mark, making it unplayable for me.

I heard that was a general problem with F-Zero. Does it work better now?
I also got a better PC, might it work out and run smoothly now?
>>
>>180273795
You won't know until you try it! :P
>>
>>180273795

F-Zero GX is one of the most demanding Gamecube since it actually runs at a steady 60fps framerate.

You can try the PAL version and run the game 50hz if your PC can't handle it otherwise.

Almost a day late, but I did that, and it still doesn't work. I tried dragging and dropping the .cue file onto mednafen.exe, and it looks like it opens for just a split second, then closes again. I made sure to move the .bin files into the firmware/ folder. What am I doing wrong?

Yes, and it will be for quite a while. Neither memedusa or melonds are going to be getting jits or hardware renderers any time soon.
>>
>>180312945
Let me reiterate, I need the system files for citra, like the whole system files, I have the shared fonts, but apparently that's not enough for some games. Like Bravely second is asking for Mii data, some other games ask for different types of data.

The emulator is specifically asking for the mii data archive, not the shared font.

not that gambatte sucks or anything (and unlike the laughing squids in one of the previous posts may imply playing Gb/Gbc games on mgba works pretty well and should only keep improving seeing at it's actively being developed) but it hasn't updated in years, bgb still releases updates every so often, mgba while younger than those two also shows a lot of promise and works amazing for people who prefer to keep as many systems under one emulator.

all are better than VBA of course.
>>
>>180314360

funny how you can get gtaV on archive but this gets deleted

but that sucks actually. more so than the other sets on archive since i was using this one to get games for my hacked wii.

shouldn't have expected the convenience to last forever, though on the bright side the 1fichier link has pretty much every wii game worth playing

>>
>>180315132

>>

depends on what you are looking for.

nicoblog for example has a decent amount of japan only titles like Zangeki no Reginleiv if you don't mind mega

1fichier link on the wiki is mostly missing shovelware shit that is barely worth preserving and regional variations of games released across all 3 main regions (mostly for japan, but you'll find a lot of japanese only titles there). i sat down and basically use control F to see if anything that people would like to play (using my personal tastes, the /v/'s recommended wiki plus top ten lists from various websites) were missing and i found that pretty much everything i searched for was accounted for (except for the aforementioned zangeki no reginleiv)

hope that helps i guess

does anyone know how to fix the fog/background issue in Me & My Katamari on the PPSSPP? It makes it literally unplayable at certain point.
>>
If games get framerate drops on a real PS2, then are they inherent on PCSX2 as well?
>>
>>180318932
As a baseline, any emulator should have the exact same framedrops at the exact same places as the real console. However AFAIK PCSX2 doesn't cycle count the emulated GPU so it's infinitely fast. The CPU is still cycle counted so any framedrops due to the CPU will still happen, though there's a CPU overclocking feature.
>>
>>180318932
Nope, and PCSX2 is one of those cases where you should expect nothing to work as in the original hardware by the amount of hacks in their code.
>>
>>180319819
Man I don't even wish PCSX2 weren't a fucking mess anymore, I just want it cleaned up *enough* that users don't have to fuck with goddamn everything in the teetering jenga tower of hacks and tweaks for each game. I want to play make-believe, willfully forget what the games are even supposed to look like, and drink whiskey until unconsciousness when I pick up my PS2 games again. I'm having trouble making PCSXR-PGXP's texture warping fix work properly.

Things I did:

Downloaded the original PCSX-R (1.9.93 version)
Got Pete's OpenGL2 PSX GPU plugin
Downloaded the WIP PCSXR-PGXP build which included the new .exe file, gpuPeopsOpenGL.dll, and gpuPeteOpenGL2Tweak.
Pasted dll files into plugins folder.
Pasted the new .exe file into the root folder where the original exe was.
Launched the emulator using the new exe
Selected the PeteOpenGL2 Tweaks 2.4 as graphics plugin.

However, the texture warping still persists. Do I need to tweak anything in the .ini file? Or something else?

Thank you.

Friendly reminder that N64 HLE ucode emulation is making fantastic strides.

http://gliden64.blogspot.com.au/2017/06/toukon-road-1-2-last-legion-ux-hle.html

Just today further improvements were made to a ucode previously believed to be Fast3D, but was actually a rare modified variant called Super3D.

https://github.com/gonetz/GLideN64/commit/3e4a499a9bb44d99c04664a12e613ce9e65008b2

Games that were previously fixed using a hack don't need it anymore. Olivieryuyu is also investigating the lighting ucode in Turok games and wants to try and HLE Stunt Racer and World Driver Championship.

Two days ago he posted:

>So I started to investigate the light issue of Turok2 & other acclaims games (warm up before trying Zelda MM lights). The microcode is a custom one but it is very slightly modified fortunately.

>So the data provided by moveword are different as from L2.

>It seems to be the same structure of data for G_MVO_LOOKATX, G_MVO_LOOKATY, G_MVO_L0 and G_MVO_L1 with 24 bytes each and then 8 unknown group of 16 bytes (more lights?).

>The code do some checks and would they go through those checks some calculation would be carried out

>The data obtained seems to be only 8 bytes which are used by the rest of the code as it would for the standard F3DEX2 ucode.

Figuring out the Acclaim ucode will fix three games, while fixing the MM ucode will fix one. But hopefully better understanding custom lighting ucodes will allow for some improvements to not just Majora's Mask, but Conker's Bad Fur Day, as well. The HLE implementation of Conker's lighting isn't accurate. It doesn't handle light intensity fades properly -- particularly on Conker's tail in the intro sequence.

It's a pity there are so few people with the skills/interest in improving N64 emulation.

Savestates are by definition a huge hack and can lead to bugs or in some cases irreparably damaged savefiles. That is enough reason not to use them, specially when all you're getting for your troubles is saving a couple seconds of menu navigation.

>I would NEVER load a save state made in one version of an emulator in another one
That's not the only way savestates can bug out, and any competent emulator will invalidate your older version savestates if they've made changes that affect savestates.

>>180453425
Regular PSX is software rendering only, has a couple of enhancements but is otherwise vanilla mednafen. HW has WIP OpenGL and Vulkan renderers, still has glitches, but it's the one with PGXP if that's what you're after. Get the BIOS files from the wiki.

Wouldn't be an issue if donations went to the right people.

Doing HLE is not a very rewarding task. While it's neat to play some games in HLE, why do all that effort when LLE already works? At the end of the day, the current HLE code is still less accurate than LLE too, because whoever coded it doesn't know how to compare results and improve accuracy. This applies to both audio and graphics.

Downloaded the modified version of PJ64 and just edit game settings of the game you want to overclock. If you don't see the option to edit game settings, then you have to disable the option called "Hide advanced settings". There's an option called "Over Clock Modifier". Just change that number if you want to overclock a game.

>>
>>180483241
You didn't understood what I've said. Anyway, that game is not a PS2 game, is the PS3 collection version, it's supposed to be more demanding by the PS3 CPU alone. PS2 and PS1 emulation will come in the future, as some models of the real PS3 hardware (look in the code, we already had some base implementation for this). I'm not saying that will require "weaker" hardware, but sure will be more optimized in comparison to what PCSX2 can do. I don't hate PCSX2, there is no reason to hate any emulation project, but it's just sad to see it in it's current state (lot's of people say that he is dead... and I can't see a reason to disagree looking at every update for the last 8 months)

Haha, the hypocrites. Donkey Kong was an intellectual property violation of King Kong, they even fought over it in court and Howard Lincoln fell back on essentially 'reasonable fair use' and won.

I guess when you're the underdog you go with whatever works for you, as soon as you're top dog, you become the old establishment. SAD.

Not to mention, Donkey Kong's code was illegally stolen/reverse engineered by Nintendo for Donkey Kong Jr. There was a lawsuit over that as well in Japan, and to date Nintendo has never made an official Donkey Kong game in- house again.

Break consoles inside the stores (just punch the package, don't even need to grab it) and punch anyone you know that has some direct connection with (or even work for/at) Nintendo . >PS2 and PS1 emulation will come in the future

Using RPCS3? I doubt it. PS1 BC on PS3 was done through an emulator, so if you got a dump of that and RPCS3 was accurate enough you could feasibly run it, which at best would be identical to what you'd get from mednafen except ten times more demanding. PS2 BC on later PS3s was also an emulator, again you could technically do it but like it or not the truth is the official PS2 emulator for PS3 is actually much worse than PCSX2.

Early fat PS3s had PS2 BC using PS2 guts, so to emulate it you'd have to emulate those guts. If you're gonna do that you might as well spin it off as an independent PS2 emulator since unlike Dolphin and other similar projects there is basically no overlap hardware-wise, and therefore no benefit of having both a PS3 and a PS2 emulator appended to each other.
>>
>>180483393
It doesn't matter because they are a completely worthless company that can't take the measures necessary to secure their hardware against software modifications. They are incompetent and they won't stop piracy no matter how hard they try.

Not all of them are doing it to protect Nintendo, some are doing it to protect their own hide. Emulation, modding, homebrewing and all that shit exists in a gray area of sorts, where it's probably legal as far as everyone knows but nobody is about to go to court and prove it, so if you do something that pisses Nintendo off, they will send you a c&d, and you will have no choice but to comply like a little bitch because they would bankrupt you ten times over if you tried to stand up to them in court. See: every fangame, romhack (yes, they've gone after romhacks) and ROM site they've ever put their eye on.

So what you do is be a good little boy and play the part of a law abiding citizen of outstanding morals, and maybe Nintendo won't look your way too hard.
>>
>>180486278
>where it's probably legal as far as everyone knows but nobody is about to go to court and prove it
Google BLEEM!, they already did prove it.
Emulators are far use if built clean room.
What is not legal is the Roms/iso's.
BLEEM!'s sacrifice paved the way for emulators.
Sony may have sunk them, but tell me how many ps1 emulators are there now?
>>
>>180486278
Someone should create a Patreon to go against Nintendo in the court, just to insist in lot's of cases to hurt them where it matters: the pocket.

>Emulators are far use if built clean room.

>What is not legal is the Roms/iso's.
Which is why any discussion regarding distribution of such files is banned on emulator forums, not because the developers are white knighting for Nintendo.

>>180486869
Honestly I think that's the reason Nintendo hasn't gone after any emulators. They could decide to take Nintendo on instead of folding, they could start a fundraiser, or maybe the FSF or whatever pro-civil liberties organization will offer to pay court expenses, or a lawyer will offer to work for them pro-bono. Plus the whole thing would make the news all over the place. It could get pretty hairy for Nintendo, and further cement emulators in the public consciousness as a legal thing that people can do. I really doubt the actual monetary cost of going to court would bother them too much, though.
>>

>RPCS3 can now emulate GoW1/2 better than PCSX2.

>>
>>180487819
It's cherry picking... but not a lie in any way. The "weaker hardware" part will change in the future with more optimization (ffs, I can run Demon's Souls entire tutorial at 22+ fps on a I3 3.1 GHz...)
>>
>>180487702
>And Sony still sued them into bankruptcy.
Precedent has been set by the whole case against BLEEM!. Yes they ran out of money to fight them. But what was the result? Emulation was ruled legal under fair use. No case for Nintendo on that front.
>Which is one of the many arguments Nintendo could build a case around.
You do know that the act of opening up a console and seeing how it works is also fair use as well right?
What case would they build? "you can't open the seals on the unit" Laughable idea. No court in the land would even take it as a case.

Despite your FUD attempts emulation is not under attack from Nintendo. What is under attack is the ISO/ROM sites who host copyrighted content.

udev is a linux thing, I don't think the Wii can use it

HID driver seems to require new controllers to have a code implementation as well as an autoconfig profile to be mapped, since it is low level driver that accesses USB devices directly instead of going though an input API.

Ask Louis 16th if money saved his head. People with money have hubris nothing more. But we are getting off topic.

As to the rest, it is an open secret that roms get downloaded. Nintendo have got a massive undertaking if they want to go after rom sites.
Hollywood for all it's billions have not even made a dent in movie piracy. when they "bring out the big guns" and squash one site 6 more pop up in it's place. Give it 2 weeks and the roms that Nintendo took down will be back up. TPB blocked? Use a proxy and get round it. It is an endless fight for them.
As for emudevs not allowing the talk, they know people use roms from the internet. It makes sense for them to ban the talk. We have got places like this to talk about it. If you are a faggot and post "hey guys my downloaded copy of GoW has a shader issue" i would ban your ass too. You can talk about game issues without mentioning where you got the game. Or in th case i have seen on the PCSX2 forums. Have a screenshot of the ISO name with a pirate group tag in the file name. It weeds out faggots and people who are to dumb to be there in my opinion.

Hey all, a bit new to emulation and was given this old laptop awhile ago and wanted to see what all I can emulate on it.

>>
>>180501251
You don't need to download anything else, just enable. Go to the Graphics menu and enable "Full Async Shader Compilation" on the "Hacks" tab.

>>180502268
That just eliminates some stuttering, it doesn't speed up general emulation.

>>
>>180495941
Try D3D backend, and go through the settings and actually read the little messages at the bottom of the config window, they tell you what options affect performance. You coud also go into general settings, advanced tab and enable CPU overclocking and then underclock the emulated CPU, which will make the emulator less taxing. Of course, that could cause the game to run at a lower framerate or glitch out but you lose nothing by trying.

GLideN64 is the second most accurate plugin behind Angrylion's software plugin. It has problems, but they're being worked on, and the leaps in accuracy and compatibility over its competition are astounding. It emulates certain effects more accurately than Nintendo's own emulators -- Smash Bros, for example, is missing a "splash" effect in the intro on Wii.

Plus it runs Body Harvest.

Maybe the progress is occasionally impressive, but certainly not astounding. When Gonetz fixed fundamental issues like LLE triangles, I'll consider using his plugin. For now I only see a point in using GLideN64 for select few titles where the accuracy is significantly better than other HW plugins while Angrylion's is too slow, (like V8).

I don't even understand why they bother using HLE. It's so bad that even popular games like Smash Bros are still inaccurate in HLE.. Since the hardware requirements are high for GLideN64, there's literally no good reason to focus on HLE, because toasters can't even run the plugin..

>Plus it runs Body Harvest.
I'd still rather use angrylion's because GLideN64 still can't properly even do the transition effect.

>For now I only see a point in using GLideN64 for select few titles where the accuracy is significantly better than other HW plugins while Angrylion's is too slow, (like V8).
There are almost no games where GLideN64 isn't significantly better than other plugins. Also, Angrylion's is limited to native resolution.
>I don't even understand why they bother using HLE.
Because it's significantly faster and because it allows enhancements.
>It's so bad that even popular games like Smash Bros are still inaccurate in HLE.
A game being popular doesn't make it special nor particularly worthy of special effort to improve its emulation accuracy.
>Since the hardware requirements are high for GLideN64
They're not high at all.

>There are almost no games where GLideN64 isn't significantly better than other plugins.
Idk man, i tested quite a few games and couldn't really see a reason to use GLideN64 as default. I've played Mario Kart, Deadly Arts, Super Smash Bros, etc. and couldn't find a reason to pick GLideN64 for any of these games. I generally use Angrylion's for 2D games.

Sure the intro is slightly more accurate in Smash Bros for GLideN64, but that's not enough to sway me into using it. Whenever I'm in the mood for accuracy, I use Angrylion's plugin to fulfill that desire. If I just want to play games in hi-res and don't care about minor inaccuracies, I generally use Glide64.

I know there are games with significant improvements like Mario Tennis, but I don't play those games often Tbh senpai.

>Because it's significantly faster and because it allows enhancements.
>They're not high at all.
It's high enough to the point that most toasters can't even run the plugin, so performance shouldn't be a significant concern.

What useful enhancements do HLE have right now?

>Also, Angrylion's is limited to native resolution.
That is indeed unfortunate for 3d games. However sometimes I appreciate the higher accuracy.

>A game being popular doesn't make it special nor particularly worthy of special effort to improve its emulation accuracy.
I think it makes sense to prioritize popular games (at least when going the HLE route). Especially since there is good documentation for those games. It still boggles my mind how someone can screw up on code that they freaking copied..

>Not his area of expertise.
That's a real shame because I don't see him fixing all the HLE issues anytime soon. I'd rather just always use LLE for his plugin if that was in better shape overall..

I always thought it would be interesting to play emulators on a portable device, but Android is just terrible and there aren't any good devices that support vulkan, besides phones..

Anyway, it doesn't look good when the author doesn't know how to RE ucodes and refuses to improve LLE.

I'm still holding out hope that SP will save N64 emulation with his unified HLE renderer (no srs). N64 emulation's doomed at this rate.. Just gotta accept that it's heavily flawed and will continue to only progress very slowly.

>The best idea I have is that the 32X's CPU architecture is a single CPU version of the Saturn

32X has two SH-2s like the Saturn. What it lacks is any 3D hardware, the fancy audio DSP a decent amount of RAM and a handful of other components.

This is not true, not even Nintendo's emulators for the Gamecube, Wii and Wii U render The N64 Zelda games correctly.

Stop spreading this meme.

No emulators render N64 Zelda correctly. Show me an emulator that properly displays Morpha's core.

At least Nintendo's emulators can properly render the pause screen.

Disc images of Age of Empires 2 and it's expansion, in bin/cue format. Normally I wouldn't need to be so picky, but I'm after the lossless audio tracks as well as the "game" portion.

Dealing with mixed-mode PC games is an absolute bitch.

>>
>>180530592

well when I click the bin file, it jsut freezes, I cant even tell if it lags or not. not title screen comes up or anything, it doesnt even show up in the hud like in Dolphin emulators

Ya'll niggas can shut the fuck up, you keep shitting on people for using an emulator that you don't like then you go and tell them to use one that isn't in the fucking wiki at top. The fuck is wrong with you dumb niggas that you can't fix your damn wiki so every one can make a choice based on specs, accuracy, etc.

Shit I mean can a nigga even get a good emu site other then archive.org?

Unless you're just after the music for some reason, I don't understand why you could just play the HD version.
>>
It's ironic that complaints here are generally a) MAH ROMZ NOT WORK and b) MAME is not accurate enough.

MAME is the most autistic enterprise around, the reason ROMs magically stop working is stuff like they find the chip actually had a different stickered name on it so the files MUST be rename or that there were PROMs that could be dumped that most emulators would ignore and just fake.

They won't even bother supporting 3D acceleration because its impossible to achieve pixel accuracy that way. Most of the stuff that doesn't work yet is because no one's bothered to work on it because they are too busy shouting at each other as to who is the truest elitist autist.

It's the antithesis of /VR/'s Retropi NES games on a 1080p 16:9 LCD screen approach.
>>
>>180539649
what are you babbling about now, stop posting inane shit just to bump this dying thread.

How well will retropie run on an asus vivopc vc60 with a i3 at 2.40GHz and 4GB ram? Should I use ubuntu or an os that's more lightweight if I only intend to use the pc as a portable emulator, that can handle N64.
>>
>>180539649
>the reason ROMs magically stop working is stuff like they find the chip actually had a different stickered name on it so the files MUST be rename

This would be solved if the roms all had a metadata file that listed the other roms. Depending on hard filenames is retarded.

can someone explain why cemu is single core. Im assuming thats the case because it says single core recompiler in the settngs
>>
>>180551816
If it hogged all your cores then you would be unable to multitask while running it.
>>
>>180551816
Dual Core emulation is incredibly unstable and buggy, see Dolphin and PCSX2 for example

Is the i9-7900X worth it over the i7-7820X for RPCS3?

Tangentially related to emulation - I'm looking for a program that'll read all the "<description></description>" lines on a .txt file (hyperlist), and remove the parentheses info, so to only keep the "pure" name of the games.

Write a shell script that does it.
Make it accept an optional argument so it knows how many words it has to keep for the name. Otherwise, it just keeps the name tag as it is.
Put that in a for loop and you're good to go.
