I do hold out some hope for degeneracy in SC, I don't expect its going to get an ESRB rating at all but if it does, it will be M already, which means it can have titties, and titties have become increasingly common in video games lately without much outrage or fanfare. Witcher3 has nudity all over and was extremely well received, and some of the more niche games like Conan Exiles have straight up full frontal and thats even on steam. Perhaps we are finally crossing into the brave new world of post-puritanical entertainment.

The only roles it can't do through another ship are roles it wouldn't do with a proper module (like cargo, scavenging, mining)

And for those thinking about fitting a big turrets on it or better shield, the balance trade-off would surely kill it.
A big turret would drain energy from its engine, making it too slow to survive capital ship
And more generator/shield/turret would make it heavier, resulting in a different ship

Culling would imply that too much data was being sent and had to be pared back. This is not how it works anymore. Yes, that's been confirmed. Frankfurt has redone the games pak files to allow the incremental patcher to work.

We have had the incremental part for a while. If you were on the PTU version that went live, you could rename your folder and the launcher would just scan it for changes. The issue has been the game's storage files or .pak files were huge multi GB monoliths that could only travel as a single huge file. Frankfurt refactored the game code to break these .pak files up into smaller chunks. That is the essence of the "Delta Patcher", which they don't like that name for some reason.

You want either NN-13 neutron cannons or Omnisky III laser cannons. The NN-13 hits harder but is harder to aim because it is single shot, basically. Omnisky III is easier to hit with but will overheat faster and drain your energy much faster. Your damage output right now is tied to your energy percentage. If you drain your energy all the way till it is bouncing off of 0%, you aren't doing any damage.

The NN-13 is harder to use but more efficient with your energy. Also, rent an Aurora CL and swap the cooler and power supplies over for better cooling and a deeper power reserve.

1. We know SQ42 depends on 3.0+ tech.
2. We have been told that completing SQ42 carries over to the PU in some way. The path from SQ42 to the PU has been obvious for a while. Getting to keep the ship that you do missions with makes sense.
3. 3.0 PU tech is mostly cloud based to overcome issues raised by making the game fuckhuge and having capital ship battles run by functioning AI with persistence.
4. SQ42 will be the largest scope of the entire project. There is no way the PU will eclipse SQ42 in scope.
5. I'm predicting SQ42 to be a part of the expansion of the PU. The Vanduul front provides an easy place for solo campaigns and missions.
7. SQ42 may be a solo experience, but the tech that drives it is the same tech that runs the PU. If the PU is cloud based, SQ42 will be cloud based, even if SQ42 doesn't use every single service all the time.
8. The inevitable end of SQ42 is the PU. The whole point of doing the story is to have the status in the larger game.
9. Whether you start in the PU and go off to do SQ42, or start in SQ42 directly, you end up in the larger PU either way.

It won't be a stand alone program, and you can't point to anything from CIG that indicates that it is. It's not that far fetched either. Most of WoW is a solo experience until you get to max level where the game becomes almost completely not single player. SQ42 interacting with the PU in the same way makes sense to me.

I come back and play Elite Dangerous every couple months for about two weeks just to see if they did anything new or interesting, but I can't bring myself to reinstall it this time.
Is it still a fucking grindfest?
I was losing my fucking mind flying back and forth and back and forth for minimal gains for weeks on end, just to get a different ship and start the whole process over.
I finally gave up trying to grind the Anaconda or whatever it was, got to 140m and by that point just wanted suicide.
Has this improved at all?

I've contemplated buying it but everything I keep hearing about it makes me nervous to spend my hard earned american funbux.

Traditional sub MMO's have a flaw: the gaame is designed for you to lose time so you give more income to the company. Theres a reason WoW doesnt just let you teleport along already explored areas and mounts are only given at a certaain level (also bind on pick up/whatever items). EvE has long training times for skills instead.

I used to have a FX-6350 and GTX750 and the old AC ran ok on it. Being locked at 30 is a little suspicious. Have you messed with the Nvidia control panel settings any? Adaptive V-sync could do that. Are you using a custom GAME.cfg? Post contents if so.

Also check your city/town for a PC recycler. I got an i7 system that I threw my 1070 in for $125.
