Going to give you the full enchilada. I cracked the sr code.
To make it basic sr climbing is only possible if you limit the amount of games you play per day and week.
The fewer the better. Its a slower climb but the climb is more consistant. Even with losses.
Attempting to grind up can lead in catastrophic se loss or plateauing.

I don't think Blizzard can ever add a new hero that will have as big of an impact as Ana did. Ana has been in the meta since she was released, has a high skill ceiling and is favored by the best of the best. Meanwhile, Sombra and Orisa are "shitting around in quick play" picks.

It's more because they gave her several good buffs right after release and people saw how strong she actually was so a month later she was in every match. Because of that new heroes will most likely start off a bit on the weaker side before being buffed up over time. Still not sure why they thought nerfing Orisa's damage was a good thing but it's Blizzard.

If you really want to go versatile. Do this. You need to learn 6 heroes, and in this order.
1: rein
If your team has no tanks, or already has 1 tank 1 heal x dps, you pick rein
2: a main healer. Pick Ana or mercy. If your aim is spaghetti, pick mercy and learn positioning, target priority, and ultimate timing
3: hitscan. Soldier or mccree. Until you're gold don't pick mccree. Your aim isn't good enough
4: a secondary tank. Zarya or d'va. Zarya is better, d'va is easier.
5: a secondary healer. Lucio if your team is divey, Zen if the fights are rein wars and your dps can't pull their weight
6: a situational dps. Pharah if the enemy don't pick hitscan, roadhog if they have a monkey or a d'va.

These are the most important rolls to fill in order.

Make simple calls. "hero half" if a target is half and you can't finish them alone.
"hero one" if they're literally a melee from death.

Call priority targets. It should be something like this. 1: people who harass your backline / squishies. This includes genji hog and Winston.
2: the enemy's main dps, soldier, cree, pharah, whoever is killing your mates the hardest.
3. Whoever is easiest / lowest when the first two priorities die

At the start of an attack round just say "let's go x location first" for example "let's push right and go upstairs" on anubis. "let's push left and spill onto point" on volskaya.
