Are you pulling on this banner, RK anons? I'm tempted because of Garbanth BSB (to combine it with my Vayne BSB for some fun dark Imperil combo), and maybe Fran's BSB. But Squall BSB2 is so fucking near us. I'm sitting on 112 mithrils atm, but I haven't touch Classic Dungeons in a while (currently sitting on 90 energy) so maybe I can gain a lot of mithirls with the half cost dungeons next week.

Help me, I'm in hell. Are Gabranth and Vayne good characters in the first place?

Nope, don't have the mythril to burn and don't really like XII enough to pull regardless.

Both straddle an uncomfortable line with their skill sets. Gabranth has both light skills with 4* WM and Knight but also 5* Darkness all wrapped up in a tank-esque stat build and some rather boring and lackluster SBs. He just lacks flash but I wouldn't call him bad, just...conflicted.

Vayne suffers from a similar but not problem, being one of the few truly hybrid characters in RK, having high magic alongside combat and monk. All of his SBs default to whatever stat is highest, meaning that while they allow you to use either, you'll be doing just that: either. Not both at the same time, not without taking heavy penalties to damage at least. Hybrid characters just don't work in RK because of how you build characters and you usually end up with him being a slightly under-performing mage or offensive attacker. His relics are decent though so I would put him over Gabranth just for that.

The exception to the hybrid rule is probably Onion, but only because of his burst and his very high base stats. He can perform very well assuming you draw one of the better 6* atk/mag weapons and have synergy for the realm. But since that's a pretty rare occurance, it doesn't matter that much.

Yeah, Onion occured to me right after I wrote that out, and I feel he works better because his skill set his so varied that he can make a lot of situations work that really shouldn't. Most OKs generally don't want to be truly hybrid with their skills sets though unless they get some hybrid weapon, like you mentioned, and even then usually they go one way or the other to maximize their power output.

Everything on that banner was really good, actually. Oldmandeau stuff obviously, but Malach's stuff sets him up to be a great psuedo-support mixed with raw magic DPS, and Mustadio gives him ridiculous DPS with Machinist abilities and slaps him with a penta break on top of that. Even Gaff's armor was good as an Elixir skill, something really rare.

Elite is a joke, 4-man too. Cecil in flame gear, DC barely got used, Carbuncle Ling for barfira/def break, DW Ifrit CoD (with ribbon, find something cheaper) and friend Ifrit+ribbon oldman, barely did 800 dmg to Cecil only. 50k heal and dispels himself; long but safe route.
Flower was slightly harder but only because you'd have to apply Cecil's lb attack occasionally, atk parts in same order as the trial one and atk break every time. At least, that was my team still without 5*.
