I have to ask, is it completely mandatory for healers to dps in this game? Like up untill recently as a scholar I turn my fairy off of auto pilot, and control my fairy's placement and use her to cast shit while healing myself.

Did you just go full retarded? How does this argue dpsing as a valid way to heal. If anything this suggests that they should focus MORE on trying to heal if they are still getting parties killed while ONLY healing. Specifically, have another good game to mess with and don't go too hard on XIV since that's what kills it for a lot of people. I would think you would enjoy it a lot more! He basically appears once every few days, flies around Azys Lla and drops one of his little charging poles and a big monster to go with it to spawn a FATE and you've got about 25 minutes to take it down. You get stuff that can be used to trade in for goofy looking assymmetrical horns. You might not even realise he was there cause the weather only lasts as long as it takes for him to plant his flag and scoot out of there, whereas the FATE stays around but doesn't get marked on the regular map, only the minimap.

Another variation of this is the big Couerl... thingy in the Forelands who has three stages of FATEs but they occur with four hour gaps. The stages give increasing amounts of tokens you can spend to buy some pretty crappy glamour stuff.

They're basically more Odin FATE style stuff, which honestly I wouldn't cry to see more of.

First up is the three Great Continents. There's Aldenard which is Eorzea's territory, Ilsabard which is where Garlemand is, and Othard where Doma is.

Meracydia is far to the south, and Kerenland "The New World" is to the west of Eorzea.
There's also various island chains scattered all over the place.

You'll most likely get that with alot of servers, Balmung included in most cases. Just from my experience in Cross world pfers is that Gilga-folks especially try hard hard core raiders from there will say just about any thing to get a rise outta people. It's pretty annoying and I think you made a smart move getting out of there. Gilgamesh is cancerous.

It's definitely going to get an influx of people transfering to it once Stormblood hits; that's a safe bet, I'd say.
