For starters, Agny should've never existed and they're ruining all of the cool interactions Pyromancer had with other Wizard circles. Necro is going to be worse than Sorcerer. Classes that rely on critical damage (Highlander and Fencer for example) will suffer with the new critical rate formula. Items with critical attack will become useless (Gladiator Band, Phada, etc.). Etc, etc.

The crit formula they changed to is actually pretty decent. No one has any crit chance unless they get items or buffs to it.

Archers get 150 crit rate, which on it's own with no other items or buffs is about as 20% crit rate.
Hoplites get about 24%.
Two sissels would give you 13% crit rate.
A green gem on main hand weapon would be between 1.5 and 15% crit rate (depending on level). On off hand it's 2-17%.

Those values aren't bad, people are just too use to having 100% crit rate. Although these stats have diminishing returns. An archer with 2 sissels isn't getting 33% crit rate, only 25%.

While they NEED content, the players "want" ``balance'', not content. The problem is, that when they do "fix" it, the players will realize what they really needed was content and bug fixes and leave anyway. It's yet another case of IMC moronically listening to the player base. All they needed to do was tone down damage on both ends as well as enemy HP and that would be fine until r9 or 10 and then they could go all renewal.

There's not even anything wrong with the old damage system. If they weren't dumb, they'd just have enemies lowering your defenses more all the time or doing attacks that ignored defense (as in did fixed damage or something). Instead they took away normal enemy skills so they do even less. As for afk necros, if the skels AI hadn't been changed to be on a tether like sorcs, it wouldn't be a problem because they'd wander halfway across the map in a few minutes and the necro wouldn't get any gold. They just had to have the bees cast avenged sevenfold on themselves sometimes or something like that. Or just have a honeypin or some other bug boss spawn periodically, instead of a grim reaper.

Crit builds are a specialised thing now. Only class that can get 100% crit rate is a Rogue using Backstab with Sneak Hit active while hitting an enemy from behind.

Other classes will cap out at like 55% crit rate but this literally requires 6 green gems at 10 stars and a bunch of other crit increasing gear. So it's not really a smart investment.

Two sissels are still a decent bonus to DPS. Only problem I can see with them is the accuracy penalty is actually significant now.

One thing you got to consider now is crit rate has diminishing returns.

The first 100 crit rate you get is 15% chance of getting a critical hit.
The second 100 crit rate you get is 9% more chance (24% total).
Another 100 is 6% (30% total).

Getting 100-200 crit rate isn't a massive investment (and all Archers get 150 for free) but it's 15-24% crit rate, which is a 7.5% to 12% increase in total DPS. It might be a better investment than flat damage if your weapon is upgraded enough.

With the way new transcend works it's actually kinda ok to go to stage 7 and delay getting stage 10 since those last few stages take up a lot of gems with relatively smaller increases.

I'm considering a possible rebalance on buff shops that takes STATS in consideration. Currently it doesn't. You only get blessing's bonufs of being lv 15/16/17 (gem+dm) and the attribute. usually 174 at lv 16.

If SPR worked, we could get easily 800 SPR from buff shops, ~1k if the parodner uses the p2w rings or even more with a combo party of rodelero thauma, and etc.

Pretty much, I can't even do dailies nowadays without watching something on the side.

I was able to work on my animu backlog while grinding the mats, but that's because I was using a kino FF to farm aka MF bug the mobs then wait 30s for them to die from decay.
Plenty of idle time to watch and read subs.

I played the beta and a while after the launch, and kinda gave up on the game because of performance issues and other stuff.

How's the game today? I read the performance issues are better. Are half of the classes in the game still nonviable? Is the GvG any good? Are people still stuck to leveling their characters through the story mode?

I had fun with ToS, I really did, and if anyone else is having fun with ToS, that's fine. I think ness is doing a good job taking care of Comfy, people are still enjoying this game and I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from playing it. Not a perfect game, but it's decent.

Problem for me however, is the lack of the qualities that makes an MMO an MMO. Back when I was still playing ToS, it's literally a chore. Log in, do Saalus, do dungeons, do ET, do library, log out, shitpost on discord for the next 10 hours then call it a day. If I had an alt I was working on, I'd do the same goddamn quests that I did 4 times already.

Needless to say this game is very lean. You don't quite "play" it, in a sense you're doing it to have fun. Say I'm tired of killing things in FF or other MMO I've played, that's fine. I can go to the casino, I can do mining, I can go fishing. I have the option to ignore the main contents for a while and do some comfy things to take a break but still be in-game.

Also the card games in FF is an actual cards game.

I log in, do chores, then I stay online and continue farming. There's always shit to do, which keeps everyone busy. The problem is the dungeon runs are the biggest chore in the game. By the time your done you have no time for anything else.
