Whenever I see one of his builds I get impressed how powerful they can be for the cost he invested. If you take a look on tree, he literary took any damage nodes - most of his tree nodes was used to pathing. And still, even then, he was able to take care of Uber Atziri, Shaper.

When I watch his guide I feel it's not for most players because it's clearly shows that most of his defense is his SKILL. If you take a look he have ideal timing to wrap out of range of boss attacks: attacking Phoenix to last sec of his discharge, avoiding The Uncreated barely before he slam. Definitely if I was in his shoes while he was fighting Hydra I 100% sure, I wouldn't stand so calm between canon balls (4:33) and run into all of those. Even Shaper fight is so skillful that make me jealous. How many people would be able to dodge Shaper golden balls on such range (5:51)? That's why I always end sacrificing some dmg to have higher pool and end up struggling in damage against Shaper.

To sum up, there are always two types of builds presentation: showcase of build and showcase of player skill. That's why I treat his guide as second one. I'm not against it and I love watching those types of video too - I can learn from them rather than blindly following them.

So keep great work Mathil! Maybe even I in future will be able to gain such reaction and dodge :)

One of my characters recently hit mapping level on Beyond. I had been running a lot of Sewer maps, and one in particular turned out just great. The mods weren't anything special, but halfway through the map a Taryn's Shiver drops. While Taryn's isn't worth a huge amount, I was quite excited, since my most valuable drop before then was worth around 10c. I immediately TP'd back to my hideout, and put it into my stash, then continued with the map. When I was almost done with the map, and killed the boss, a Cloak of Defiance dropped (so did my jaw)! I couldn't believe my luck. I stashed it immediately as well.

Video games are for cuckolds who let their brains rot away into nothingness by watching anime and fapping to traps when they aren't paying for the privelege to mindlessly do the same task with minor variations for hours on end.

alchemist is the strongest cluster in the entire tree and half the reason to route to witch

league so dead everyone's playing SSF now

not to that degree when you're not running any unique flasks but it's hard to tell without knowing flask and build setup

alchemist could read as +6 phys resistance from your basalt flask and everyone with half a brain would pick it up

you don't need unique flasks to understand the value of physical mitigation

how autistic would you have to be to play ssf on this game

any interesting build needs snowflake gear that you won't find ssf

i'd argue you're less autistic for enjoying the game the way it was meant to be played, that is to say without any cheating of any shape or form

choosing to play ssf is just another way of avoiding the ever sinking ship that is trading which will eventually kill the leagues altogether

playing ssf is just delaying the inevitable league fatigue that creeps in and forces you to think of the meaningless void of your existence

trading already does by accelerating the state of a league in a week what would take something like a month without trading

i imagine a primary reason trading overhauls haven't been enacted by ggg is that their (supposed) design philosophy runs entirely contrary to what the general playerbase has gotten used to, so it's virtually impossible to reconcile the two and ggg has accepted the slippery slope of casualization

I tried Diablo 3 and enjoyed kiting, will I have fun playing Path of Exile? What's a build with a high APM?
