The editor at the time wanted Amy to be a generic stronk girl power figure so she spends most of the time being a generic do-gooder, even in her solo comics. She has pretty much one good arc, which is her dimension-hopping with Tekno, and that doesn't happen until issues 134 to 156, which ends up being the last backup story in the comics before they're all replaced with reprints.

That said, being a generic girl power figure by our standards means she ends up contrasting decently with Sonic himself since Sonic is a jackass in Britain, and she's definitely the most competent Amy in the franchise, so at least she's not the crazy stalker bitch.

Fleetway Amy gets most of her support from people who are tired of the crazy stalker Amy from the games and especially X. She's liked mainly because she's simply something different. Actually for that matter, that seems to be most of StC's fans in general who didn't grow up with it.

She's competent and not annoying, but because she's rarely the focus character she can come across as pretty irrelevant most of the time.

As someone who likes Fleetway Amy, I'd agree with this assessment. I really like comic reboot Amy since it's a good balance of both. Crazy valkyrie of hammer death is much better than just crazy stalker. And the stalker is toned down.

I think my favorite thing about the various Amys is that you can put all of them into a team and still give them distinct looks and personalities. Fleetway would be the leader, Boom would be the contrasting second-in-command, Modern would be the heavy hitter, manga would be the smart one, Classic would be young and eager to prove herself.

Archie Sonic Pre-boot had quite a lot under Ian.
Reboot as well, but they had to cut down a bit and that's understandable.
And Dickhead Sonic went through quite a few stages, him actually apologising to Porky and being depressed over Johnny was something.
