Yes very common in game industry. Metal Gear Solid V was in development before the release of Peace Walker.

Assassin's Creed/Call of Duty follows the same route.

The only problem with this was Tera suffered as we got rehashed content, same bosses, just dungeons reshuffled whilst just selling the game as an Elin dressup sim since I think they believe they failed with Tera as it was nowhere close to what Lineage 3 should have been.

I mean it explains a lot how they now take millions in funding, reworked social/combat and only hired experienced veterans behind the biggest successful MMOs.

Dishonored did the same by hiring Valve's map director (who quit Valve since he didnt like the direction they were going) which pretty much defined the Dishonored's style and charm which feels a lot like TF2/HL in terms of map layout and feel.

They are, but ever so rarely a bind on equip item will drop from a dungeon. I found a boot once. There weren't many on the market because they're kinda rare, and so I just threw it in the guild bank and even then no one's grabbed it. This late in the patch, the items are so unwanted it's ridiculous. You could probably haggle someone down really low.

Getting to max level is a joke now, it's super fast. They streamlined levelling to ensure you basically only have to do storyline quests but dungeons are good experience too.

Warrior I'd still by far the hardest class in the game to play well, and the difference between a good warrior and a mediocre one is miles. It's a fun class but be prepared for tons of hotkeys and a bit of a learning curve.

As far as servers go around here my st people are on MT or CH. Most of the lewd posters are from CH because that's where ERP and stuff happens but it's still a good and populated server.

This was an option a few years ago when the MMO market was flooded but it's slim pickings these days. Tera released over five years ago and there still aren't any MMOs with a combat system that feels so cathartic and gives a real sense of kinesthesis. Sure it's dying because of a lack of proper updates and repeated content shuffling rather than simply adding with every update but there's no reason to pull the plug when players have effectively developed their own life support.

Any advice for lebels 20 to 30? Me and a friend have gone straight to the furry homeland after the quests with those sporewalkers and stolen chests for traders, the things in that area you teleport to via a scroll after first arriving at Velika. I managed to get us two avatar weapons there, but I've no clue how exactly the relic fragments are dropped, seems to be random, so I'm struggling with the third avatar weapon.

The only reason BHS/EME cares about this at all is because of the reward tiers being bypassed. It removed a lot of incentive for whales to spend thousands of dollars. That's it. That's what this whole situation boils down to. It's the money.

Once their ping comes back they will quit. Unless you live fairly close to the server you are no longer capable of being competitive on many classes. If they can't see their name at the top of DPS rankings they wont play. That's what makes them a tryhard in the first place. You came into the game at a really bad time. Not only are the devs shitting the bed, a new patch is coming out, and schools have finals coming up. Guile will the next patch's starter gear and Ambush +15 will be the next patch's mid tier +12. So unless you already have BiS, you are better off waiting a few weeks in NA (EU already has the patch date set) for the next level of gear.

I suggest sticking around and going on MT's LFG. look for people who are doing your level of content consistently and add them to your friends list. Even "full guilds" are not really active, struggling to get into the double digits in people online during peak hours.

And I don't think the console release will save this game either. Even if they roll out a new engine (they will probably cheap out and do a ui refresh for consoles and it will struggle to reach 30 fps), the game is too geared specifically for kr, and will not gain a mass following.

It's an unfortunate state of mmorpgs in general where a fundamentally flawed game like Tera is still one of the best games in the genre.

Player activity is constantly being kept track of. When a higher-up sees that there was a large spike in subscription cancellations and massive drop in player activity they're going to want answers.

No this will not kill Tera but it's certainly going to give it an early grave if all the people upset about how EME is handling this mess stick to their guns. Numbers have dropped exponentially over the past few years and at this point any loss is going to hurt them. Even if most of the protestors haven't spent a dime on the game they're still part of a constantly shrinking playerbase that makes Tera look like a shriveled husk rather than a rotten corpse and they act as content for the whales.

This is some basic shit that applies to all multiplayer games; not just Tera and not just MMOs. When a game is on its last legs the "commoners" quit first and the whales quickly follow once they realize they have nobody to show off to/help/murder in PvP/etc.
