Coming from League the one thing I appreciate in this game is the fact that for the most part you can play our your character to their full potential every game. Can't say the same about League.
For a champ in League to reach full power the game needs to have gone at least 60 minutes without your team falling behind or losing and those scenarios have been nearly impossible outside of pro play for years. Every pick and item build you see these days revolves around having the most impact at 1-2 item completions. And also Sonya because I love huge women.

This became me in Overwatch 2nd day of Christmas event. I'm going to take a break until August and sink every moment of my life into HotS now. I like the loot box thrill, and I love the concept of HotS(Universe clash) and would love to see more skins around this, like the Warrior set on Sonya for example; so good. He's good IF. IF. You learn how to play him properly. He is one of the worst, most useless heroes in the game if you don't understand how to make him work.

You can't mindlessly take camps since they need proper timing in order to get real value.
Closest thing to a jungler would be drafting heroes like Sonya, Samuro, or Illidan on Blackheart's Bay since the coins you get from clearing camps are the most important thing on the map.

There is the mercenary lord talent for various heroes but generally it's not a good idea to only go pve.
Except in blackheart's bay, where it's the optimal way to play by clearing camps. Sonya and Illidan are good for clearing camps.
On the other hand, gankers do exist. Any cloaked hero or heroes with hard cc fill the role.

With this build you play like a poke hero who does hit-and-run occasionally. You're not going to be the primary source of damage on the team, so have a reliable DPS with you. Some assassins can output a ton of damage but will have trouble actually finishing people off; this is your job.

You effectively want to stay on the outskirts of the fight and poke with Shurikens, then dash in when someone gets low. Don't use Swift Strike as initiation; use it when you see a kill. Deflect ends if you get stunned, so wait until the enemy has used their CC before you go in.

We take X-Strike because Genji wants to do his job quickly then get out asap.

You DON'T need Shingan just because you took Shuriken Mastery.

So what's the point of making a game based on Blizzard properties if you're not going to use them?

There don't seem to be any:

-Wow battleground (including Arathi Basin or CTF)
-Overwatch team deathmatch mode
-Starcraft (or hell, regular moba) base destruction

Not even the actual physical layout of the maps resemble these properties. It's just "Generic Hallowen Map" or "Generic Egyptian Map" with capture objectives.

I just took a look at the game because I thought it'd be interesting, so if I'm wrong about this, please tell me. I just don't see a point.

Flex is "most useful" in the sense that it gives you a bit of everything, allows you to try out tanks, supports, assassins, etc.
Assassins is the best value since most of the new heroes have been assassins, and newer heroes cost more than older ones.
Ultimately it depends on what you want, do you enjoy playing tanks or supports? If not, probably Assassins is your best bet. I'd suggest reading up a bit and finding some heroes you like the sound of, then see what bundle suits you more then.

After dozens of free chests for veterans, I have every skin I really want. Still, I bought some Gems to show Blizzard I'm grateful.
Heroes is a fantastic game, and seriously, this Dev Team is doing some crazy good work: constant updates, reworks, TALKING TO US on Reddit... they deserve my money!

Like all mobas, you should be well acquainted with every hero but you should only spend a lot of time with 2 or so of every class for competitive purposes.

In dota very few abilities do physical damage, if any I think. Monkey King's Q is basically just an aoe long range crit. Witch Doctor's Death Ward does chaos damage I think, so it does full damage against all targets but is still reduced by armor. Slardar's Slithereen Crush does physical damage since he works off it so much. Most bashes do physical damage. Tidebringer is physical damage. Walrus Punch is a crit.
Physical damage spells in Dota are pretty infrequent.

Dota has a good chunk. It's completely arbitrary and depends on the hero, although they won't often tend to have one spell that does physical combined with one that does magical. It also has a good number of abilites that are glorified attack modifiers and deal their bonus damage as magic or "pure" (true) damage. Dazzle is notably a support whose entire spell damage output is physical, and his ultimate reduces armor. Both of Alchemist's spells also do physical damage.
