Marauders is a good starting place if you have the crafting skills, otherwise mix some zerker and soldier I guess.
Hammer GS is fun, nice mix of mobility, hammer is a fun weapon for fun people, and hitting a big hundred blades feels good.

If you hate it, then why grind for it? It's not necessary. Play the game how you want to play, and the masteries will roll in. By grinding, you're burning yourself out much like everyone did when masteries first came out. Living story provides some nice mastery XP tbqh

The last bit of dragon stand meta event can be completed entirely without leyline. You might not be able to participate in every island's little 'battle', but you can still very much participate in the event and complete it.
It's pretty damn worthless as a mastery, but still worth getting eventually, nothing to grind over.

I really don't see how the spammers benefit from all of this. Yes, plural, Jugg actually quit doing this but someone picked up his spamming habits and continued. Not to say Jugg didn't return to spam, but it's definitely more than just Jugg doing this to /gw2g/. I recall some anons loving Caturday spam, preferring it over asura "spam" which in reality was just normal posts with asura pictures in them. Whoever is doing this feels justified that they're doing the "right thing." Like they know what's good for /gw2g/ whether you anons like it or not. These spammers would rather shove lies in your face for your own sake than let things be.

Spam ruined this general, now barely anyone posts screenshots. Not even the text in this general is real sometimes, think about that. We have text spam from other 4chan boards. Something tells me the people doing this find lots of meaning in /gw2g/, why else would this amount of effort be wasted on killing a general? What would these spammers do if /gw2g/ died for good?

Necro players die almost instantly in teamfights at higher tiers. It's the downside of having your entire survival depend on what is basically a gimped Mana Shield from D&D. Every other class has invulnerabilities and evade frames and can theoretically tank a 500 000 damage burst in a teamfight. Whereas the Necro can't. It makes for a balancing nightmare where it will always either be too strong or too weak.

Anyway, at higher tiers people run Ele and Engi to keep them alive long enough to strip boons if possible. It's worth pointing out that Mesmer and Engi can use Moa to negate Shroud completely. Moa will remove Shroud and put it on full cooldown. It's not entirely an uncommon sight for matches with Necro setups on both teams to be played 80% as 4v4 because the Necros spend most of their time watching a respawn counter. Arguably it's still worth running Necro because they are the only class that can stop ress chains solo in skirmishes.

The whole idea of changing the utilities according to legend was retarded i can't help but think they didn't think it through properly, revs just have too much utility and too flexible which makes them rewarding to play in pvp but shit in pve as anet compensated for that utility by nerfing their damage to the ground, i say a rework is due, anet said they wanted to make a heavy class without weapon swap like ele and engi but those two have elements and kits that change weapon skills to compensate, why not make the legends work the same way? but lets face it, they couldn't be bothered to give rev a second ranged weapon, giving every weapon a different set of skills for each legends is beyond anets "ability"
