Expect Cygames to give Rune massive powercreep next expansion or two to counter the Bahamut board clear. Maybe an amulet/follower that sacrifices itself to protect against AOE destroy effects or something.

Fairly designed Leggos this expansion is Hulking giant, Belphegor, Dark Jeanne and Elf Queen, Roland and Gawain And Minthe.
Because they dont do everything and if they want to get overstatted they have downsides like Hulking giant eating all rites in hand or jeanne also nuking your own board.

Nobody runs Thane because it's too slow.
The only real legit board floods are Death's breath, zombie party, Hector and biggest of all is Catacomb. If you don't get catacomb your shit just gets removed. So let's say you have 12 potential board floods, 9 of them have immediate effect and Catacomb requires board or chaining.
Dragon had salamander, Irasfils, Bahamuts, Grimnir and LB. All in all pretty much the same amount, even more actually, except half of them also leave a huge body in place you have to remove immediately. You can argue about stuff like dragon warrior which is rarely run now, Scythers and Ouroboros too.
